I think they will stop giving certain units reruns and just send them to the chronicle wish. This will probably include units that don't make Hoyo much money.
If that is the case, then its pretty good for the game since more hype units will be getting reruns instead and certain very niche/bad weapons will not be rate up on weapon banners anymore like Eula's and Klee's signature weapons.
Another point of note is that the Primordial Jade Winged Spear is missing from this wish since Xiao will be getting reruns during lantern rite most likely.

No, I think it's just mostly Mondstadt weapons (because that's the theme of the banner) and then two signature weapons that haven't featured in a long time due to their signature users having moved to the standard banner.
No they make money. This banner is for characters that have not seen a rerun for a long time.
True tho personally when I'm on the weapon banner I just want sig the 4 stars are irrelevant to me. Also Zack said they have to at least have been on *3* banners to get in the chronicle they can't just *not* give certain characters reruns by that logic

"Chronicled Path" Rules:
After choosing a 5-star item as your Designated Item, if you obtain a 5-star item that was not your Designated Item, you will receive 1 Fate Point. Once you have reached the maximum amount of Fate Points (1 Fate Point), the next 5-star item you obtain through this Wish is guaranteed to be your Designated Item.
Obtaining the current Designated Item or changing your choice will reset the Fate Points to 0.
To take Version 4.5's Chronicled Wish as an example, if you chose the character "Dandelion Knight" Jean (Anemo) as your Designated Item, then the 5-star items you might receive would be limited to the characters in the image below (and would therefore not include weapons). As Jean is the Designated Item, if you were to receive the character "Dance of the Shimmering Wave" Eula (Cryo) instead, you would receive 1 Fate Point (the maximum amount). The next 5-star item that you'd obtain would then be guaranteed to be Jean.
Q: When the "Chronicled Wish" event ends, will my accumulated wishes carry over to the next "Chronicled Wish"? How about the Fate Points for "Chronicled Path"?
A: The wish guarantee count will continue to accumulate within "Chronicled Wish," and will carry over to the next "Chronicled Wish." The wish guarantee count for "Chronicled Wish" is independent of the guarantee counts for other types of Wishes.
Your Fate Points will not be carried over to the next "Chronicled Wish." Your Fate Points will be reset to 0 when the current "Chronicled Wish" ends.

That's true. Even though the lineup might not seem enticing for older players, this sets a precedent for such future banners. Especially if it takes only 1 fate point to guarantee a weapon, even though I'm guessing the guarantee is set to 90 instead of 80.
to me it just ain’t, we’re gonna pull on that with intertwined faith and that’s just unfair, as there’s no increase in primos per patch and that is our only value to get limited (and not powercrept) units
@@jacksefo exactly this, if we have to use primos and intertwined fate on this banner then it's a massive waste of resources, unless you are a new player and you REALLY want a specific character who hasn't been rerun for a long time. Even then, why pull for old characters who have been powercrept when you can pull new ones instead...

I'm new to Genshin Impact and I've always wanted to find a good beginners guide for starting artifacts and free weapons and couldn't find anything since most players talk about abyss and it sucks not have someone at try to help us noob so I'm glad they are adding more help.
I went into the game knowing nothing but the designs of characters I would want someday and have a lot of stuff to do but sadly I'm stuck on a time trail in dragonstone so I'm glad there's not another new place because I haven't even made it to the geo arcon quest yet..
Also I don't do co op because people get angry when I don't follow them or they just one shot my enemies I'm literally don't get any battle time
I mean, if you follow abyss guide, you will automaticly clear any content in overworld...
For me, the new type banner is the highlight of today livestream. Standard character can be guaranteed is a win for me and that means Tighnari can also have a chance to appear on this banner (kind of regret it not to pull on his banner in 3.0)
And it is also pretty efficient to pull weapon on this banner, since it only requires 1 fate point, but it is still waiting time when your desired weapon gonna appear though
If it uses the fate system then it's better to save before you pull.
I think fate points reset each patch so it's better to save and then invest a lot. Rather than invest in increments

@@rushalias8511 New event banner is basically a normal event banner but it's just that you are never guaranteed.
@@rushalias8511Not Just the fate points. If you don't have enough wishes for your selected character your guarantee will reset too 😬 Just the pity stays the same.

Genuinely super cool that the chronicled wish system is a thing. Could’ve happened several patches ago but hey I know who were dealing with at this point. Probably will not bring me back in, but happy for everyone else!

The New Banner is GOOD for Weapons. And can be very good for Characters, IF:
- You lose 50/50 to the other featured characters, and not the standard cast.
Ex: If you are aiming for Eula, you can only lose to Mona, Albedo, Klee, Diluc and Jean.
EDIT: I read the rules again, and it's confirmed. You can only lose to the characters (or weapons) in the Banner. WIN WIN situation, this banner is GOOD.
That way, you can get a character or constellations you missed, and avoid Qiqi.
Signature weapon for the same price as c1 is insane, not for Mondstat I know but Liyue and Inazuma ones are much more interesting. Shame archons will probably never run on it, I have 3 c2 archons needing their signature.
The point of this banner is: you can lose 50/50 to a limited 5*, so you are no longer locked to building a standard 5* constellations.
you can actually get limited characters Cons or get a random new ones.
You can build pity on it, but the fate points dont carry over if you lose and don't go all the way.
IMO this is good, but im year 1 player so im avoiding this one with my C6 Jean... will try if there comes a banner with tighnari/dehya/mona as the only standard lose tho. so i can just build my constellations on characters i want.

@@guineverebaroquechannrl7618They said you need 1 fate point, so I think it still has like a 50/50 system because in the weapon banner, you need 2 fate points to guarantee the 5-star limited weapon that you picked in the epitomized path. I could be wrong though.

New banner will be insane once it starts running other regions, Mondstat is most standards and older chars. Just imagine Sumeru or Fontaine weapons running for guaranteed within 180 wishes. And completes fixes the long rerun times some less popular chars were getting. Only way to be better woud be using blue wishes.
The Fontaine banner will be really good, neuvi, clorinde, arlechino, wrio, navia, lyney, even if you lose the 50/50 you will get a good character.

I'm so tempted by the Chronicle Weapon banner, hunter's path specifically, tho in the end might just save for a newer character, currently waiting for Chlorinde
so presumably if they put up chronicle wish for a whole patch before changing the roster: thats 17 banners going all at once, 6 of them being limited banners. it's like a "build-a-banner" type but with a larger pool of 5-stars. thank GOD at least they just required one fate point in the banner
yea I thought the same when I heard the leaks about it. if it was 2 fates it'd be a hard skip, but only one and it's actually a legit option for those seeking the weapons or units available.

I think that new wishing system alone and Itto rerun has actually brought me back into the game. I haven't played in weeks because I just haven't felt the enjoyment like I used to and I'm actually excited about playing again. Genshin seems to be doing some good things, even with QOL stuff that's starting to look up. We still have a ways to go hwoever.
will be sitting on 240 wishes come 4.5. expect 320 by the end of the patch. that's 320 going into Sobp and Eula cons. If things go well I hope to get more than just C1R1. I'm so happy with Hoyo right now that if I manage c2r1 I'll spend my way to c3.

Great patch to have a break from Genshin and try something else, I'll be playing Persona 3 Reload and The Brew Barons, an Indy game from Steam that just came out, like war thunder from ghibli studio with Porco Rosso aesthetics, I'm super hyped for that one!
I am beyond happy that itto is with chiori so I can hopefully get more gorou cons while going for chiori although I kinda want to lose 50/50 I still don't know enough about her to see if she will fit where I want her too

Um....actually Nilou only had 2 runs....and you need 3 run and not having an run recently to appear in the chronicles....so it might be late natlan when she and other sumeru will appear in chronicles

Feels a very casual 4.5. Probably they are gearing for a massive 4.6 update with potential map expansion and archon quest.
The best thing about 4.5 update is the closer we get to the marketing drip for Arlecchino.
As someone who has always loved Albedo since his release, I'm super excited to have a 5* sword for him!
As a Surcose main and learning that chori is the same vc, I HAVE to get her now.
I was going to pull Kazuha and Neuv but now I don't know. Diluc is my primary on-field dps so the Wolf's Gravestone and constellations are tempting, too.
And then Chiori.
I have no idea what I'm going to do, now. Lol
I'mma go out on a limb and say skip Chiori till rerun, her usefulness seems sus. By the time she reruns you'll know better whether she helps your account or not. If you use Diluc with Cloud Retainer investing into him isn't a half bad idea at this point. Kaz and Neuv are also still very viable, if not outright wise, pulls.
Was debating whether or not to c6 eula (since she is one of my favorite characters in this game..by far) and now with this banner..it looks like it will be a lot easier for me to do it XD. I wonder what currency the new banner will use ..🤔🤔 probably not acquaint fates (there will be even less of a reason to pull on the standard banner) , possibly intertwined fates..possibly a new wish currency..probably not, though.
Probably intertwined, using acquainted would basically mean moving some limited to standard I think they wouldn't do it. A new currency costing 160 primos, but that they add a new end game like abyss who gives it for free would be a dream but that's too much to hope for 😅 Very happy with the system, way better than just adding more banners in the old model.

This patch to me feels more like a QoL update with the addition of the new banner system and the new character guide, and it’s fine by me because this will for sure help newer players work on their characters and help them get good units! Let’s be real, we all would’ve loved to have these systems when we started because most of us had to look at videos and sketchy pages to build our characters lol
I really hope that the special banner is the whole version. I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED Klee (for anyone who doesn’t know I’ve always loved Klee and I just like need her). I’m so excited! I like the new chronicle wishing system, but one thing I feared is that, like one comment said "Niche and Unpopular characters" might not get anymore rerun since they don't make much money for hoyo and those characters are going to get stuffed into that banner. I feel bad for people who wanna pull for those unpopular/niches 5 stars characters since they have to gamble 1in6 chance to get their desire character, unless they have 180 wishes prepared. Not to mention that the 1 fate guarantee 5 stars character doesn't carry over to the next patch as well

I've been playing since launch with only two breaks of a few months each, and I've never pulled Qiqi, Tighnari or Dehya to this day. Qiqi in particular is shocking. Imagine having to wait 4 years for a unit you like just because it's standard. Go for it man.
I eventually plan to c6 neuvi and after losing every 50/50 on his c0r1 path I am planning to get him at c2 this time around
I got him in my alt I barely play, and liked him so much I'm planning on getting him c1 for the main. Won't risk the weapon tough, already saving for Natlan 😂

I believe they said it uses intertwined fates. And it is likely to change but they didn't say exactly how often it will change. Like it might be available for this entire patch, but then it will probably not be available during the next patch. It also looks to be a regional banner, so all the characters now are from Monstadt but the next will probably be Liyue or Inazuma characters.
They didn't say it, but very very likely intertwined, otherwise wouldn't be different than adding them to standard and I don't think that's legal. It does change every patch it seems, so it will stay both phases but change the theme next time.

There will, they talked about it. But still, you can lose the 50/50 to limited units this time. So it's is better.

It wasn't, she reran in the patch before Fontaine in that circus themed even, last summer. So about 8 months. Albedo on the other hand didn't rerun at all last year.

The new banner? No. Leaks have been all over the place. A lot of people don't like it. But - except for the fact that it uses Intertwined fate instead of the standard fate - I like it and am looking forward to seeing the mechanics of it in person.

The only thing i dont like about the new banner is, that it still has that 50/50 chance. Yes you can choose a specific character or weapon but it doesnt mean you get it. Only guarantee is, that if you chose a character you wont get a weapon. If you chose a weapon you wont get a character.

For the new banner, I wonder if we can select characters at first. Then, if we lose the 50/50, switch to weapon in order to guarantee a weapon instead of a character.

Im trying to get itto and chiori for a mono geo team, I only have like 30 wishes so far and 20 pity wish me luck yall 😭
If only they add the double summon mechanic to Chiori in other alternate manner, like if you don't have another geo construct, Chiori needs to complete her normal attack sequence to gain the second summon. That would be more interesting.
Chiori feels like a sub DPS for a geo character that is yet to be released or Itto (which is very expensive to build).
I hope we use Acquaint fates on the new banner.

Hope Chronicle Wish is not a scam.. I'll aim for the Beacon for Diluc and Razor. As much as I love Chiori and C2 Kazuha, I'll skip for now to get either Arleccino, Chorinde or Alhaitham.
P. S. After hearing IWTL's take on it, I just hope this replaces the Standard Banner and utilize Acquaint Fates instead. Not unless Genshin triples up on rewards.

The leaks were all over the place on how exactly would work, some people were still leaking would be 2 chars first phase and 3 second phase a month ago. As we saw in the skin selector, leaking marketing and sales data is a lot harder than game assets.
I don't get what they mean by one fate. Is it 1 wish or something else
it's one 5 star pity. up to 90 wishes. if you don't get the item you wanted you start wishing again and some time in the next 90 you'll get the one you wanted. takes 180 wishes in worst case scenario to guarantee the thing you want.

If you wish for aquila and lose, do you lose to skyward sword or any sword?…there’s only 1 spear, so its telling me those weapons shown are the only ones you can chart towards, but 50/50 loses isnt just that pool of weapons…unless skyward spear is 100% win rate. Hah
You lose to another weapon, not necessarily a sword. If you charted a character, you lose to another character. So basically you can lose 50/50 to limited unit/weapons now. This banner will be insane a couple patches down the line, even if they keep half the units in there standard. Imagine an Ayaka, Ayato and Yomiya for example, with their weapons.
