Thanks for the reveiw team. Great to see you have made the upgrade and glad to hear you love our gear. Sorry about that communication let down. We have made a few changes recently to reduce shipping and improve communications. We have also just released our lightweight LX tent which will cater to those that are concerned about weight. Look forward to watching your adventures.

Thanks for the reply, we look forward to using the tent in the future, if the lightweight LX Was available at the time we would have gone with that for sure, might be something to look at in the future. ❤

I've had an AX27 for about 2.5 seasons here in Colorado. I have had zero issues with it. It has been in +50mph winds, sideways rain/sleet. Recently we were in a 12-15 hour rain/sleet/snowstorm with several hours of hard rain. I thought for sure there would be some leakage. But upon inspection after I returned home all was dry. I pulled the mattress out to find zero moisture in the tent. I did hear about the possibility if the pop rivets on top leaking, so I sealed them shortly after I received the tent. I have also threatened to seam seal all of the exposed seams but have yet to do so.
The tent is quite heavy. Mine is on a Ruger offroad trailer. Not sure I would ever want it on top of my vehicle. I have had zero corrosion paint issues, but here in CO the climate is mostly dry, and corrosion is not usually an issue. I have 250 watts of solar panels mounted on top along with 4 cross bars and a shovel and the struts easily lift the tent. I also have an OVS 180* awning mounted on the side with the Bush Company tent to awning brackets which are really robust. Recently purchased the spring rod adapter to keep the spring rod from contacting the awning are.
All in all I am very happy with my AX27. I previously had a 1st gen Roofnest Falcon mounted on my truck and the quality and durability between the two is night and day.
The AX27 is 5 times the tent the Falcon was. But it's nearly twice the weight.

Great to read about your positive experience.
On a car it’s definitely a heavy thing and bulky, we forgot to mention it’s actually difficult to store as well if not using it.
But worth it for a good nights sleep that handles the rough weather. I feel the compromise between a lightweight tent vs the quality can sometimes shift very quickly.
