I lost my dad in March... a few days before turkey season.
He taught me everything I know about hunting.
Tonight I'm packing my stuff for the first ever deer hunt without my hero to talk with about. It's a bittersweet feeling.
I know he's with me but damn I miss him.
This video helps me get in the mood to get after 'em.
For him.
Sorry to hear about that, now go shoot a big buck for him!
nice hope ur next
So sorry for your loss. Wish you peace and a great deer season
Thank god he's gone.
He already "produced" enough damage...
Update:
My dad was with me on opening day (8-6-22)
Climbed up my stand on public land in South Florida at 6:30am... 7:40am an 8pt gave me a 28 yard shot and I watched him go down in less than 20 yards.
That is the first time in my life that I've killed on opening day.
What a glorious way to start my 2022 deer Season.
Dad, rest in peace, I love you.
God is great.
My grandfather passed away 10 years ago. I still miss him dearly.
Sorry for your loss Santiago-I will pray the Lord comforts you and your family 🙏
That’s sad but to lighten the mood you could’ve said deerly
@@pokigamer2416 true
Why would you even bring that up? Santiago

That second shot was absolutely IMMACULATE!!!
I fell out of a tree stand 26 years ago and broke my back also! It’s been tough at times, but I’ve continued to work in the power generation industry and hunt bucks! I sure remember the first deer harvested after I recovered enough to return to hunting!
Too bad you're back hunting.
I wish the tree stand would have been higher
@@Frankfurter1982 die Grünen:
Sorry for that,u are so strong to fall from the tree and rise and walk again is a ve ry lucky
So glad your back out there David!! God is very merciful and we must be thankful to him for his kindness to us. Great to here your hunting bucks!
@@Frankfurter1982 John 15:6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
This made my night. Can’t wait for the rut!
Gets me even more pumped for bow season!🦌
I understand exactly where you're coming from of not really interested in hunting since your loved one died. I was the same way too. God bless you and your family with much respect. I know the feeling Boss man. 💯💯💯
I guess you could say I'm excited for bow season!! Can't wait
Man, I LOVE those crazy horn (antlers to all you OCD folks!) bucks. They got character! I NEVER get tired of those bucks!
That second shot was terrific!
I've been deer hunting for over 40 years, killed many deer in that time . Now I have a shoulder replacement, and need one in the other shoulder. Shot most of the deer with a compound, but can't pull back and hold. I use a crossbow with a hand crank and don't really care what anyone thinks. If you dont know the circumstances, don't judge !
I feel you...I'm in the sam situation...or at least was...Just got back into compound bow hunting maybe 3 years ago. And some mornings that old shoulder hurts...so I still use my crossbow....
Man seeing that buck twist his head so the antlers will get through the fence just let’s you know how smart the animals are!
Getting me fired up for the 2022 season.
Awesome footage! I shattered my spine skydiving and have a 44 staple scar, so I can relate to the last guy. Took me a few years to get in the woods, but I've found a lot of fun and adrenaline still hunting with a crossbow. Good luck out there hunters!!! Season is upon us!
I know I'm late to the party but on 12 21 20 I lost my ultimate hunting partner .... my dad. Last hunting season was my first one with out him and it was tough. On Halloween my son shot his first deer a big doe. I must told him 10x after he let the bolt fly and smoked her with a 10 ring hit how proud grandpa would be! Then the 2nd day of gun season the other kid I'm mentoring shot a big doe! I just wish he could've been there to see their faces!
Love seeing people still shooting spitfires! By far my favorite been shooting them since the first were introduced and there absolutely the best mechanical broadhead.. lots of gimmicks ,lots of over marketed heads out there... I believe even though they're old that nap just got it right the first time with this head!
He's right you know.jpg
Hunting just brings out the best in people.
Lost my Grandpa back in 2005. I miss him every single day. However during deer season I'm pretty sure he's in the stand with me!
This is one video that I will watch at least twice.
Hermosos venados
Muy buenas cazerías
Muchas Felicidades !!!
Saludos de. MEXICO !!!!
Second shot is Savage. 😎🤘
But congrats to all guys on the video 🙌👏
I've never been a hunter, but have huge respect for those who do. Great video!
Thanks!
Yo lo.que pienso que los cazadores son unos m......porque matan por placer.
4:48 10/10 such grace
Ten minutes of pure pleasure! Great video to all the BHOD team.
I'm disabled now and I sure do miss bow hunting I'm 65 now and still get a tear in my eyes when I see a young person wack a buck just wish I could get some deer meat for myself
I love watching you hunt
One of the better videos simply because of the information included...what bow, DL/DW, broadhead, cuttin diameter, etc....
Great shooting fellas ! Some crazy genetics on these bucks !
One more month! Can’t freakin wait!
Bad ass shot 👍 GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸🗽
I just recently got my first crossbow that I can actually use fore hunting. Im glad my birthday is in september becausd im starting to get buck fever!😁😁
My papa passed away in April this year. I’m gonna get a big buck for him this year. ❤
That second shot was perfect placement well done!
2:26 doesn’t fall into the bow category 💅🏻
Yeah…can’t believe those crossbow guys using a more deadly weapon, where it’s more likely to get an ethical kill lol
Congratulations brother for killing a a big buck 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻,but I’m sorry for your grandpa 🤗🤗
Rip to your grandpa man sure as hell miss mine
Very good
So ready for bow season this year!!
Y’all nailed the timing with this vid, I’m itching to get out there next month!
We still have to wait until October around here!
great video
I know how it feels to be too down to hunt or fish. Keep your head up. I keep going up and down... I am ready for the season, but then something happens and brings me be down.
Sorry for ur loss. Nice job on the deer
Crossbow & “bow” kills are different.
That was very entertaining. Not gonna lie.
0:53 what a hit
Дуже цікаве полювання !! Також хочу придбати собі Лук !
Pretty cool video footage. Thanks for making it!
Bow slingshot! Nice shot.
Awesome Video 👍
Second deer was money
Awesome video minus the guy with the crossbow.
All good except for the cross rifle
7:30 didn’t go 20! Ole Vinny’ be proud
Notice the tree stand broke back is now in a saddle!
IM SORRY ABOUT YOUR LOSS GOD BLESS YOU AND BRING YOU PEACE..WISH YOU WELL..

I dont bow hunt but i do want to get into it, seems a lot harder then gun, gonna get me a crossbow instead of a bow
Very nice fellas
I feel you bro
Love your work!
I wish grandpas never died
Awesome video 🏹 💪
Crossbow hunters sit when they pee
Watching an able bodied man use a crossbow kills me
No, it still kills deer. And...ya still have to aim it & stuff. And...you still can't dress like a clown & make a bunch of noise or smell like the Bath & Body works. I don't even own a crossbow but the comment reads a bit ridiculous, fella...unless you have some actual fact(s) you wish to add to a meaningful debate/conversation?
@@outhere8690because it's obviously not archery fella. Yes you have too aim it you're correct, just like a RIFLE. Crossbows should be allowed for 1 week for able bodied men. Its the lazy way
@@mikeguy9668 - I do understand your feeling on it, but consider this. Maybe a hunter has a full-time job & a bunch of stuff going on & only gets a limited amount of time to practice & hunt. They have trained on crossbow & know they can put the shot on the deer for the kill. Maybe they even tried or bought a compound bow but aren't 100% with it yet? Would you rather they chance the compound bow shot or go with what they know? I know my answer. Finally, crossbows are constantly being debated on whether or not they are archery. I get why you feel it isn't & I mostly agree, but I am more concerned that a hunter uses what they know to make a good kill. Some people don't care about implements used, just about meat in freezer/on table. I respect anyone who either does it for sport/food, or solely for food, as long as they do it responsibility.
@@outhere8690I have a full time job, 3 kids, wife and everything else that comes with life but I still can find enough time too practice a little. If this busiest person on the planet that you speak of can't find 2 hours a week too get proficient with a bow then they should wait for rifle season, or there should be a crossbow week. I believe your argument isn't feasible at all. It's just an excuse people use
@@mikeguy9668especially when the last guy broke his freaking spine and still used a verticle bow
After I seen the crossbow , done
Super
Hey Kids! Headed to ELLinois😂

It's too bad that the sport of archery have gotten so expensive. These days the average Joe can't afford to buy a hunting bow. A new bear bow can cost any where from 1,200, 1,500 or even 2,000 dollars. And to dress up the bow is not cheap either. For me, family and responsibilities must and always come first. Archery has become a rich man sport. I dedicated myself to the sport for more than 35 years. Learn everything that I could, from making bow strings ,bow tuning and bow techniques. I have all kinds of equipment, from string jigs to bow press and drawboad. I used to shoot 3-D every Sunday with my bodies. But that too has gotten expensive. I lost my job 2 years ago together with my house. Back foreclosed what used to be my home. Can't afford Archery anymore. I'll miss it.
Poor take. It doesn’t cost 1000’s to get started in archery/deer hunting.
Why didn't you get into the repair/retail side of things with the experience, knowledge, & equipment you just explained that you possess? Maybe add a training course for people like myself who are obviously interested in getting into this side of hunting as that is what brought me to this video? I've successfully gun hunted both deer & turkey (mostly self-educated, did not have family in hunting) but I also want to expand my deer season opportunities & grow as a hunter. So??..if it's as needlessly expensive as you describe, be part of the solution! Take care, good luck, & hopefully better days ahead for you.
At the beginning of this video I'm expecting a normal hunting video but when I see the bloodtrail on that first clip. I'm surprised it went more than 10 yards!
If you're reading this and you don't know the feeling these hunters felt completing this hunt!! let me tell you this much you're missing out and it's something you should know it's a feeling that nothing else will ever give you I promise!!!!!
I told my buddy I found a new way to hunt , I said it makes noise and the bucks come running , he didn't believe me until I showed him 30 years ago ,
He changed his mind and said let's go !
Just like red dead redemption 2
2:55 i came here to watch deer shots not tear up :( rip gramps
Compound bow > cross bow
Who Agrees ?
Make a separate cross rifle video, don’t muddy the waters, nonetheless great video!
Condolences about your grandparents.
The guy at 8.30 is shooting and mathew vertix ...
Not a v3...but its doesn't matter great video👍
Amazing hunt keep it up!
Nothing makes me angrier than watching an able-bodied man shoot an arrow gun.
My best friend died in a freak accident shotgun hunting when I was 17, I'm now 40. He looked over the edge of his tree stand after he dropped his gun and it went off and killed him. Stay safe everyone 🙏
Road hunting
Awesome compound bow shots, crossbow doesn't do it for me, but thats just me. Seems too easy to use a red dot
Still gotta get the deer within 40 yards or so, which is a huge feat in of itself. Still more sportsmanlike than rifle hunting.
@@drumandball you can go a lot further than 40 yards with a cross bow, it’s not the same at all
@@joerogan8723 maybe if you’re shooting a 500fps crossbow, but if you’re shooting around 350fps like most crossbow hunters, you’d be dumb (or unethical at least)to shoot past 40 since they often jump the string.
Oh way more that taking with a rifle I agree
@@joerogan8723 I’m not arguing that it’s the same. Hitting a deer’s vitals at 40 is much harder with a compound than a crossbow. But to act as if it’s “unsportsmanlike” or “boring” is a stretch. Especially if you don’t also pick on rifle/shotgun hunters.
For me, it’s my first year hunting and I want to hunt with a crossbow to capitalize on my limited time in the stand. After a couple years, I’d like to pick up a compound
In a blind over corn...mmm
I fell coming down 20 years ago. broke 3 vertebrae and fractured several ribs. ok now. for a while it was rough
Dang, glad you're ok now. Hopefully you wear a safety harness when hunting in a tree now.
second shot perfect! hits the far shoulder. Lumenok shuts off. This is a problem I have had with them. They shut off when you dont want them. Any tips to prevent?
The hard impact with bone will loosen the nock and break the connection causing it to turn off, especially if it's a little bit too loose in your arrow. The key when trimming them to fit is finding that sweet spot where they fit just right. Not too easy to turn on, but can be turned off without the need for a tool or breaking your teeth.
Love the video deer season is coming quick, what brand of bow do you recommend for adult
Eveyone typically has their preferences, so we'd suggest going to a bow shop and testing out a few different bows. We've all been using Mathews bows for a while now, and we've had zero complaints about them. If you're new to archery, you can also check out Mission bows. Good price point and real solid bows for new hunters.
4:49 check out how he navigates his rack thru the fence
my eyes are sweating
My allergies start acting up right around the 3:00 mark...😄

Wow
@5:04 what does that deer have on his back? LOOKS LIKE a gaping wound
May get some hate from it but I'm not impressed by crossbow shots
That's no problem with us, it's not for everyone. 🤷♂
