Israel Must "Avoid Escalating" Middle East Situation After Iran Attack

- The Jewish Chronicle’s Jake Wallis Simons says Israel must ‘avoid escalating' the situation in the Middle East, after Sunak called on "all sides" to "show restraint" after Iran's attack.
The Prime Minister spoke to his counterpart on Tuesday afternoon after first telling MPs 24 hours earlier that he would speak to Mr Netanyahu “shortly”.
Israeli media had reported that Mr Netanyahu was refusing to take calls from world leaders seeking to influence the response to Saturday night’s attack.
After the call, a Downing Street spokesperson said Mr Sunak “reiterated the UK’s steadfast support for Israel’s security and for wider regional stability”.
Jake says: “Israel HAS to respond, but it needs to keep its allies on board.”

Bravo billy. While our troops are still getting hounded by the icj and the Irish government it's a disgrace, them soldiers were on a peacekeeping mission now in their 60s and 70s are getting persecuted. I'm in my 20s but will always voice my support for our troops

The issue nobody is talking about is how Irans response took 6-7 country’s to stop its tiny drones and missiles, what Iran did was test Israel’s mighty Iron dome if it could withstand one attack and it couldn’t without the help of its west allies, even with Iran telling the whole world the time, the place and how long the response will reach Israel. So if Israel responds direct to Iran which these warmongers are aiming for including this channel then good luck when Iran actually send some proper drones and missiles from every corner. Do these people not get why a “war” in the Middle East effects the whole world, the economy will fall on its knees and these people who want the “war” better prepare from now on oil etc bc they won’t be driving or cooking anything anytime soon. On the contrary. Israel has proved that it can defend itself very well without the help of allies. Maybe not quite as well, but nevertheless it can defend itself very adequately. Please tell me of any country in the world who has not had allies that have helped them during a defensive war.

Iran has been attacking Israel for decades and then their terrorist military commanders, based in Damascus, ordered 7th Oct to happen. I call Israel's reaction pretty defensive. This recent bout started when Israel took out Iran's consulate in Syria. Any further attack on Iran will result in escalation.
Not the consult, a base next to it. And Iran has been attacking israel via its proxies since 1979. Look up the bombing of the Israeli embassy embassy in Argentina in 1994 days which killed 84 people.
