Wow! I’d love to be fortunate to ride a train from Tehachapi to Bakersfield again. I rode one back in the 60s as a school field trip. We weren’t really old enough to truly appreciate it.
Superb!! "The Golden State"....makes one appreciate William Hood's genius of the loop even more seeing all the other terrain features to consider to find the best route. "Fly Like an Eagle"!!
I never understand when Amtrack says this is a detour. The Amtrack trains through the central valley of California always end there runs in Bakersfield. If you want to proceed further south you hop on an Amtrack bus, which takes you over the Grapevine into L.A.. The only thing I can think of is they are rerouting the coastal trains through the central valley to get to southern California due to track maintenance along the coast. These detours do not happen very often. When they do, they usually sell out because many railfans want to take the rare trip through the Tehachapi Loop.
No higher capacity....since we fly quite a distance, the battery has to last to fly the drone back...so really only getting great footage in about 1/3-1/2 the battery life.
