IIRC DaVinci Resolve Studio 18 was the first software to support Dolby Atmos on Linux. The latest version of Studio One also supports Dolby Atmos on Linux but it's only a beta for now.
Thanks for the pointer!
Sorry if anyone finds some parts of my comment slightly offtopic but I think that maybe it's not too off. Indeed, it's great that Mixbus created the opportunity to use Dolby Atmos mixes on Linux too. As you have mentioned the only "problem" is the limited possibility to check the result on Linux. I think that the software (CAVERN) that you have mentioned can be a real help not only for those who want to use their system with Linux operating system but also for others on other platforms.
Not off topic at all. 🙂
@@michaelgwagner I've tried Cavern just after my first experiments with Dolby Atmos Composer and had some brief contacts with the developer of Cavern who was extremely helpful in understanding how it works and what it is capable of. He has a lot of small pieces of software that beside the player function can help to check or even convert ADM files to other formats. Even if there's no interest in having a separate video, at least it deserves to be mentioned, being a free software package (some parts are even open source) with a lot of potential.
@pworks2078 Yes, I have that on my list. 😉
Nice part auf Linux thank you ! Fiedler Audio could work with the windows plugin bridge YaBridge (+Wine) . But i didn't tested it. And I'm not so deep into Dolby Atmos, but maybe VLC can playback? There are a lot options to change the playback behavior in the settings. I would assume that you already checked that, but if not, maybe this is an option?
Thanks! VLC can’t play master files, unfortunately.
Cool!!
It is. :)
