Thank you so much Maria!! I have been looking everywhere for this information!! I’m going to start my clippings this weekend!!! People waste so much money buying plants!
Now I have my answer to a previous question. For sure, these plants are a whole 'nother process of growing and propagating. Thanks for all your super fun and informative videos.
Hello maria, I'm from Philippines this is my first time watching your video and I Want to say thank you. because you share a lot of your ideas and skills about planting adenium on that way I can adopt more knowledge about you❤
Thank you Maria!! I've had my desert roses for two years but they are getting too tall. After watching this video, now I can trim and replant the cuttings instead of getting rid of them. Thank you again!
Maria! Great video! I have the same problem.. very long stems leaves but roses are falling off. Perhaps I am watering too often. Previous tenant left it for me without instructions. Should I make just one cutting.. I don't want to kill big desert rose. I'm in hot desert in middle eastern University Arab Emirates

I bought desert rose seeds only two seeds and planted them in an cardboard egg carton and put plastic wrap over them and put them under my light and they sprouted, rooted. I only watered the seeds once and left them to sprout. Now they are about 3 inches tall and I put them in cactus soil because it was all I could think of to put them in lol. And there doing great. I watered them 2 weeks ago and been gone seance. I hope there ok
Linda Cameron you’re very smart otherwise someone else maybe over water them they are ok what you need to do go very slow with the water when the soil it’s totally dry don’t disturb wait until they’re are about six seven months old before reporting also if you water it’s 35 and over they’re below outside under roof not rain no direct sun this it the best for you seedlings they love the fresh air hot air one more thing when repot please used very small pots about two three inch desert roses like to re root in compact pots thank you Maria’s garden 🐝🐝🐝🐝

And now I do thank you so much for the time you spent on doing them videos They are very informative and helpful.
Tyvm! Majority of videos have us using tons of stuff. Sand… etc… I’d like to know ho to prune mine. It’s to, what I call… leggy! Long branches with little leaves and flowers.
Hi Maria, great video! I have one question for you. So after you had planted it in the pot for 7 days, when do you start to water it? I grow my desert rose inside the house. I’m very confused when I have to start watering it because my starts to soften and rotten. Thank you very much!
Hi Maria! Excellent video! I was given a cutting of desert rose today and the bottom cut looked like it was not doing well. It is possible that they have already left the cutting to dry for 7 days, but since the bottom didn’t look healthy, I made another cut and put it in cinnamon. Should I still have to let the stick dehydrate again or should I just let it callous over for a couple of days before putting it in the pot with dry soil. Thank you in advance!
Hi, great video - I’m watching from Abu Dhabi in the UAE! It’s winter here now, but still 90 degrees Fahrenheit. I’ve prepared my cuttings and I’m leaving them for 7 days to dry. I don’t have a garage, would a dark room in the house be ok? And how long do you recommend I leave them there before taking them outside? Thanks.
Thank you Maria for all the info on dessert roses. You are a pro. Will be trying the cutting method soon. After keeping it out in the sun when should we water the cutting?
Hi Maria. Hope that you can answer my question. From cutting how long does it take before the adenium will flower for the first time? Thank you for your videos. I enjoy them very much.
michitim 1 Hi my friend when you apply the fertilizer best to apply in the fall season for best results dig trench around the plant and apply and cover with soil to last longer best to apply every fourth months thank you Maria’s garden
Hello Maria. I live in Arizona where it is very dry and hot. I took 2 stem cuttings from my desert rose (it was very spindly and only had 2 branches with leaves at the tips of each. I took the cuttings at the end of August (my plants are in the house), put cinnamon on the ends, and put in cactus potting mix. They seem to have rooted (I tug on them and there is resistance) but the cuttings are dehydrating, the inner core is shrinking. I have recently been giving them some water, but am not sure what to do next.
Hello Maria! I finally tried this. I had a question, is it normal for the clipping to shrivel up and become soft? I’m at the stage where there outside now. I live in Sarasota Florida it’s nice out here, no rain so they’ve had no water still thru the process. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Ty

Maria, I am new to your channel and love learning from you. I have two questions. I have cuttings from my friend's desert rose. If I understand correctly, i will let the cuttings dry for 7 days, then plant them in dry soil, place in shade for 4 weeks with zero water, then move to eastern exposure and start watering? Hi my friend I don’t recommend desert roses from cutting if a cut the large plant will be sad and the cutting it not good they’re many complications when you propagate cutting
Ms Maria, I plant new desert rose last Monday 25 of May and untill now May 30 I didn't water yet, when I can start watering my plants? I put on the shade and when is the best time that I can put them outside. Looks like they are dehydrated now.
elsa sandocal Hi my friend you need to keep the plants under shade for 4 more weeks also you need to water about 2 inch of the top of the soil when dry only after the 4 weeks place the plant outdoor to get 3 to 4 hours of morning sun if possible and water when dry only according to you climate also you can used 3 tablespoons to a water of gallon of water shake very good and water you desert roses when dry only will help a lot thank you Maria’s garden

Mine are about 4 feet tall and wide with very large root systems... i dont want them to die!! Help!!
Hi. I cut my desert roses and peeled a short section at the bottom and I coated bottom and top cuts with cinnamon. Can I stick them in dry soil right away and keep them under roof or do they need to lie out of soil for a week before sticking them in the soil?
Hi my friend this’s what you need to do cut a mature cutting of a mature plant air dry for a week after scrape the bottom of the steam and apply cinnamon then planted in a small pot with dry soil press the soil down very good place the pot under cover for seven weeks make sure no body disturb the plant after that start watering about 3 inches of the top of the soil for other three weeks but if happens to rain please leave the plant outdoors to catch the rain doesn’t matter how long rain after apply Epsom salt unscented 3 tablespoons to a gallon of water shake very good and water you plant into the soil only never in the steams or leafy thank you Maria’s garden
Question - Do you do anything to the end of the parent plant where you cut? Do you continue to water and feed the parent, after cutting for propagation like normal? Or are there special things to worry about on the parent with that exposed cut? Thank you for these videos ! YOU ROCK!
Conscious Flow Control Training Hi my friend very important to taker the mother plants this’s is what you need to do make sure to propagate in the right according to the temperature of your state for example in Florida we don’t have winters the temperature doesn’t go below 30 degrees the best time to propagate is the first week in September for south west Florida but if you are at state the get very cold during winter the best time is the first week of spring when you weather get about 70 and going higher I Hope you can understand lol 😂 otherwise feel free to call anytime my cell 941-457-1172
Kat Baleau Hi Kat is many fertilizer you can use for you garden any thing you used make sure it is slow release osmocote 14-14-14, sulphur fertilize ,14-4-14, also fertilize high in nitrogen what I meat on the back of the fertilizer bag the number of nitrogen has to be high that another numbers sorry if you have any questions let me know I try to be more specific the best price for osmocote 14-14-14 slow release is Amazon.com thank you Maria’s garden
Hi Maria , I have three cuttings to plant, I follow your steps, but after drying out cuttings, it became soggy on the ends, is that's how it should be? Thank you 😊
Great video darling!! May I ask why are my cuttings shrinking and wrinkling during my drying process? Will it still grow if I plant it for propagation? Thank you in advanced!! ❤️
nenni670 that’s normal wrinkling during drying process is very go the cuttings need to very dehydrated before planting into dry soil with out water for two weeks to grow roots and you will have a good success thanks you Maria’s garde
Maria, my husband and I are going to try this this weekend with our desert rose! After the 7 days to dry out and then 7 days in a pot with no water in the garage, do I then water it? Or still just bring it outside of garage and then no water still? Thank you!
Angel Trudo hi my friend the need to be under pot for six to seven weeks after two weeks you need to start watering the top of the soil one to two inch only of the top of the soil after the seven week you can place them outdoors for 3 to 4 hours of sun daily morning or evening sun and watering until the water comes out the bottom of the soil only when totally dry only but if happens to rain it’s ok let rain for weeks the plants are going to be ok thank you Maria’s garden
So you cut it from parent plant, wait 1 week to plant it, then after planting it you put it indoors for another week then by the start of third week you water it for the first time?
One more question Maria. We live in Orlando, FL. We get lots of rain. I have my plant under the carport. Is it safe to put it out so that it will be rain water?
JoAnn Halverson hi my friend if you have the plants into the right soil yes the need the rain. To grow during this spring but if you plant aren’t in the soil you can’t because if they don’t have a good drainage they will root rot thank you Maria’s garden
Margie Cochran Hi my friend what I recommend to remove all the leafs and spray with neem oil also you can water with neem oil if you continue having problems with please send me a picture also the plant needs about 5 hours of direct sun daily also you can repotted with soil please watch my videos my number is 941-457-1172 thank you Maria’s garden
MARIA I made a mistake and I put the dessert rose cuttings to dry for 7 days without trimming the end or putting cinnamon. Can I do it after the 7 days before I plant it or just skip this step? Do you think it will work?
A. Abraham Hi my friend yes you can trim them steam any time to encourage the cutting to root also the steams to grow when you plant them you can go around the bottom of the cutting and scratch a little of the green about 1 1/4 inch and apply cinnamon or root hormone and ready to planted thank you Maria’s garden

Maria’s Garden thank you Maria. Do I need to put cinnamon on the area of the plant that I cut the piece off of as well?
Hi hows the growth of your cuttings? I intend to do so too but it’s a leap of faith 😄
@@MariasgardenGarden Thank you Maria for your reply.
when do you water after you plant and put it outside
will it grow a caudex in the bottom of the pot. Saw a video where the caudex grow in the bottom of the pot.
Yes the roots can come out the drainage and it’s very bad for all you plants the nee to be repotted before this happens
Is mid June ok to do this process with the cuttings?
Maria, I have a desert rose, that I am having an issue with spider mites?
