Hi Jodie! I hope u don't mind but I have a question. Could u keep increasing on the ends to make a throw rug? I really appreciate the way u teach. I'm going to subscribe to your channel ☺️
Hi LeAnn! Thanks so much for watching! You can keep increasing on the ends to make a throw rug. I will do a tutorial on this on my channel. Thanks so much for subscribing!
Thank you so much! Out of all the other videos that I’ve watched the do a oval have been to fast for me! And I needed something clean, smooth and easy to follow since I’m a beginner!and you helped me so much Ty!!
I love your tutorial. I have watched several and yours is the best. No annoying background music, your voice is calming and you explain everything so clearly! Question: If I want to make an oval placemat that is about 14” wide, how do I figure out how many chains to start with?
Thank you.Very clear.I watched more than I would like to admit before I found your tutorial, then, and only then, it all made sense. You also have a very calming voice ,that helped a lot! I will keep going now , because I CAN.😆
Thank you for posting this video...do you have written instructions as well? I'm confused as to how many times to do the 2dc, 1dc, 2dc as you keep increasing.....great video!
Hi Jodie, What a wonderful ,soothing voice you have. I want to make a purse using Red Heart Sashay yarn. I definitely do not want a ruffle, so this is perfect. I am new to your channel and I think you can read the phone book(do they make those anymore lol) and make it sound sooooo peaceful and wonderful. I'm excited to check out your channel. Thank you
Thank you. You can make a bag by doing one double crochet in each stitch going around the base. Once you have achieved your desired height, you can make your handles.
Thank you for this tutorial! I would like to do a bigger oval, not necessarily as big as a rug, more like a table mat. How do I proceed with more rows? I am guessing I cannot do the same as row 3? Thank you so much for your help
Hi I made a larger version of this: How to crochet a LARGE oval rug| EASY| Free Pattern| Part 1 ua-cam.com/video/Zqb6vfvRWg8/v-deo.html The pattern and technique I used for this mat can be used to make other oval projects.
Hi thanks for the tutorial! I just need an advice If I want to use an other kind of crochet like Half Double Crochet or Single crochet to make this oval base the work is one or do you think is better the Double crochet only?! Thank you
Hi Jodie. I’ve been teaching myself to crochet by watching UA-cam. I now have lots of square washcloths, as do all my friends! I’ve decided to branch out and make a bathmat. Your tutorial was so clear and easy to follow that i feel inspired and have subscribed! Thank you! I do have a question though. To make my bathmat do i just repeat the instructions/pattern that we did for the third round? Xx Claire
Hi Claire, welcome to the crochet family! 😁 To increase this oval you would have to increase the stitches in each round. See below (just for the ends): 1st round: 1dc (x6) 2nd round: 2dc (x6) 3rd round: 2dc, 1dc (x6) 4th round: 1dc, 1dc, 2dc (x6) The next rounds you have change things up so i'll write out the stitch order 5th round: (2dc, 1dc,1dc,1dc)×6 6th round: (1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 2dc) x6 7th round: (2dc, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc) x6 8th round: (1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 2dc)×6 Keep alternating, while adding a stitch to each round. Let me know if this is hepful. 😊
