  • Peter Paul Scott's journey as a creative entrepreneur was profoundly shaped by the influences of his parents, Angela Scott and Karl Nurse. Angela, a former Black Panther, not only served as his mentor but instilled in him the core principles of the arts that he practices today. Her relocation from Boston to New York to pursue a career in theatre allowed her deep love for the arts to permeate every aspect of Pete's upbringing. Surrounded by renowned comedic actors like Robert Townsend, the Wayans Brothers, and Chris Rock through his mother's involvement, Pete became immersed in the world of arts from a young age.
Karl Nurse, Pete's father, made significant strides as the first Black producer and director for a Boston News channel. His work included producing shows like Romper Room, where Peter Paul made appearances as a child, and later creating City Line, the pioneering Black cultural TV program that aired on Sundays.
Recognizing Pete's inherent talent, Tommy Hilfiger welcomed him into his corporate realm to infuse his fashion and style expertise into hip-hop culture. Tommy, who would become a pivotal mentor for Pete, introduced him to Guy Vickers, the head of Tommy's corporate foundation. Under Guy's guidance, Pete assumed the role of director of community affairs at the foundation. His collaboration with Guy was transformative, leading to significant initiatives such as the groundbreaking development of the Martin Luther King Memorial in D.C., partially funded by Tommy Hilfiger's contributions. Pete often reflects on his time with Guy as
"eye-opening" and instrumental in shaping his path in community-driven endeavors.
