So I have an 18 year old daughter who has special needs and a VERY full head of natural hair, and in essence she is SUPER tender in her scalp. And she’s going away. I have never braided in my life. Never ever learned or grasped the concept let alone attempt extensions. She BEGGED me to do her hair myself before she leaves. I doubted i could pull anything off. However, ma’am… I’ve been attending your braid school for weeks for hours at a time per day and I have achieved a very beautiful set of box braids for my girl. I am not sure if you see or read your comments but thank you! I love your channel and your energy. ~Mimi , Brooklyn NY
I will be honest your videos has reminded me of how much I love braiding ...not even a week and I bought a training head now imma buy a spool for the hair ...next..thank you so much
I have the same hair dryer, best one I've used. As someone with reality thick 4C hair that shrinks a lot, I don't let anyone style my hair without stretching with heat first.
Instead of twist i do plats about 5 on both sides as well... and also pull them back into a low ponytail.. I keep it like that for a day or two.. when I take my braids out I comb and brush the section out and it gives me a blow out look... hair completely stretch no heat used... tip; when doing my plats I make sure to grip my roots very firmly and pull my hair down kinda like stretching it while braiding it down
I absolutely love your videos. It helps me with my granddaughter who is reluctant to change. She recently got box braids and she looks beautiful. Her hair was breaking off due to relaxing. And now I just need to help her get in the habit of taking care of her hair. I always learn something new. Thank you for your expertise
Thank you Thank you! So very helpful. I'm always looking for safe and effective ways to care for my daughters' hair and this helps me know how to prep them for braids. I wish I could take them to you! Keep posting and we will check out more of your helpful tips.
The only prep I do is I wash my hair and just put olive oil in my hair and do twists or braids either the night before or the day of, if I do the day of they’re usually only like 10% damp ish and my hair dries super fast so it’s not an issue for me. I personally don’t like using heat for hair prep bc I get heat damage so easily and sometimes it’s like what’s the point of using heat for a protective style but at the same time I understand bc straight hair makes the styles look neater and it’s easier to work with. The olive oil is compatible with the edge control that my stylists use but some still have an issue. I don’t like using actual hair products bc my scalp gets itchy easily and quickly and just makes for more product buildup when I start itching
Sooo what I have learned that every wash day rather I’m not getting braids is to just detangle my hair before washing . My hair gets really tangled and knotted and trying to detangle while in the shower is hard work and and gets really messy with hair all over the place. I honestly thought I was the only one who’s hair does this. Also this video is very helpful since my mom is going to be parting my hair for me when I put in my box braids . She had never done it before with my kind of textured hair. You showed how I can prep my hair to make it easier for her to be able to part without it get tangled. My hair gets super tangled even after a blow out so I’ll be using the heatless method . To see how that works. ( I’m adopted and my mom and I have completely different hair types )
Can you do a video doing senegalese twists or knotless braids on short 4c hair that has not been heat stretched....showing how to tuck those curly ends.
I've just come across your video and have to say I have learned something new! I am getting box or knotless braids soon and wasn't sure if I should wash and prep my hair before going but watching you I now know it's best to do it myself. I was going to apply my own products but listening to you won't be! If by any chance you see my comment could advise me which is better for a first timer getting braids. I'm not sure which to go for. I am getting them down to my butt as I'm loving that look also I've got grey roots that don't go any further than 1-2" from my roots so opting for grey and colour 4 as my natural hair is #4 apart from the greys lol. I would very much appreciate your advice and thank you for sharing this video. I've also subscribed and 👍🏻lol. Sending love from London UK x
Thank you so much for this video!!! I took my braids out for 2 wks and literally wanted to cry because I couldn’t do anything with it but place in a top knot.
Been subscribed to you for 30 minutes and already have a new video of yours to watched lol🥰💕I enjoy your videos and have learned a lot these last 30 minutes thank you!!☺️💕🥰
Head and Shoulders Royal Oils and follow up with the serum and moisturizer. Sulfer 8 drops pre shampoo. Love beauty and planet hair serum(purple lable, black nozzle) Try Girl+Hair system for braids. It was developed by a BW doctor. Sally beauty Texture ID has an itchy scalp collection too.
How would you recommend stretching thick, short (5 or 6 inches) 4c hair that's not long enough to put in a few twists or still isn't stretched much after twisting? I usually blow mine out but I need a protectant (I use shea butter) before applying heat and I'm always told to come without product. Thanks!
The short curlformers or small rollers/perm rods are good for stretching without heat. Also, oils/butters are good for keeping moisture in, but a heat protectant would need some kind of silicone in it to be effective.
The fact that 1. Detangling takes less than 10 mins & 2. You’re detangling it DRY tells me we live in completely different hair worlds lmfao I wish I could do that
Does the dryer work on 4c hair? I put product on my hair because I do my own braids. I have a hard time styling the front. It never looks full enough for me to wear it down, so I keep it pinned up. 😔
Hi, JOHN 3:16 “For God so loved the world, he gave his one and only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God loves you all so so much! Please repent! ❤️❤️

I love a pre poo with Aloe vera juice or aloe gel and water. It cuts down on the shedding.

Is it best to do the no heat method the day before your appointment? Can this be done two days before?
What shampoo do you recommend for dry, itchy, flaky scalp?

You may need more sections and add more hair. Good luck
@@mochamommyATX Thank you. I will try that.
It does, it works for my hair and Chizi Duru also did a review of it : ua-cam.com/video/qif1cbFqQhc/v-deo.html
Are the hair bands you use anti-breakage? They look wide and fuzzy. I’m looking for something that that won’t rip my hair out.
Yea I use the cotton or silk hair ties that don’t have a metal clasp. They definitely help because they don’t snag and are more comfortable to wear.
@@VandyVanity thank you for confirming! I went to target and found Goody hair ties that look similar and I do immediately see and feel the benefits!
