Well sort of for the comics for the first two volumes. The last two is just Alan Moore say fuck it and make you go through some dumb shit like Hogwarts Columbine
Sean Connery (Gandalf): "I am a shervant of the shecret fiya, wielder of the flame of Anor! Do not take me for a conjurar of cheap tricksh, Bilbo Bagginsh! Throw yourshelf in nexsht time, you fool of a Took, and rid ush of your shtupidity!"
16:00 Wow, now I know where Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite got the inspiration for their story script from. 16:50 See?! Rocket Raccoon was literally in the same position as Wonder Woman here in one scene!!!
I actually really liked Zach Snyder's version of "Watchmen". Sure, I will say that the original was better, but I felt that Snyder did the absolute he could with adapting it the best he could to the big screen. I even like the changed ending. I think it fits in a little better with how humanity needs to come together with not just New York being attacked, but many different cities around the globe. However, I do think that the upcoming HBO mini-series would probably be better due to the fact that it can include moments from the novel at a much better pace than in a movie adaptation. Hell, the visual comic on the Warner Brothers channel is about 6 hours long when fully measured.
When it comes to adapting something to the screen, the limitation of film will always require at least some changes to the souce material to ensure that a coherent movie can be feasible. It's when the changes are not dictated by the medium that I am angered.
If you adapt things they need to change to fit the new medium, along with sometimes the place and time. It's really wen they just change things because that it starts to be a problem.
I don't know why but your reactions to Nostalgia Critic are by far my favorite I guess because I love Nostalgia Critic and I like your guys opinions and reactions so these videos are those two things combined
4:15 - 6:10 Oh Sean Connery, you had so many options, and you threw them away to wear a bear suit in The Avengers and mime-fight an Invisible Man here.
First Dragonheart was a good one, but the sequels not so much. Except maybe the TV sequel with Drake, voiced by Robby Benson from Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
I think _V for Vendetta_ is overrated. The original graphic novel was more of a dark, psychological thriller living in an Orwellian style dystopia. It had a lot of nuanced depictions of anarchy and fascism. And even Moore stated it would be insulting to the reader if you said, "Here's this anarchist, he's the good guy; and here are these fascists, they're the bad guys." The movie felt like an overblown Wachowski film with elements from the original source material. Not to say the movie was terrible, but it just felt completely simplified by comparison. I know I'm in the minority in this one since it's so widely praised, but I can't pretend to stifle my opinion in favor of the majority.
I just watched this two nights ago, perfect timing! Though I didn’t actually dislike the movie, then again I was mostly just paying attention to Sean Connery.
Truth be told, the best adaptation of Moore's works and the only one he actually liked was for an episode of Justice League Unlimited. The only change, and a change Moore liked, was how the people of Krypton forgave Jor-El for his apocryphal predictions. Also, it wasn't some ancient snake god: it was a SOCK PUPPET made out to BE an ancient snake god, controlled by one of Rome's biggest Satirists. I think he chose it to be edgy and go against Christians at the time because Treebeard the Snake Wizard's always gotta stick it to Thatcher and Reagan even when both are dead. Especially Ditko AFTER his death because Fuck you, Alan.
I know this was done a few months ago, but fuck it. 13:32 No you wouldn't see what Skinner eats or drinks after a few minutes since it would mix with his stomach acids. Thus merging with the properties that make him invisible. 21:31 He is in pain! Hide is more in tune with his animal side and those instincts are picking up the high pitched whine that is being used to prime the bombs. Its being used to clue the audience in to something being wrong along with that slowly growing sound beneath the dialog. 22:00 Because individually they would be more on guard and thus harder to get samples from. Getting them into a group let those defences fall and allowed his mole within the team gather parts. 24:28 Oh yes, because up to that point in the movie there had been so many references to Sherlock Holmes that people would automatically know M stands for Moriarty. I'm kind of surprised with all those cameos from Watson, Detective Lestrade, Molly Hooper and oh so many other Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.characters that they had room for a LEG movie. After all there are only like three other literary characters who's name start with M, right? 24:45 He is stabbing diagonally upward under the rib cage to try and get at her heart. Funnily enough bone is rather hard and resistant to a person trying to shove things through it.
So Quartermane is made the leader instead of Mina, who in this version is a vampire and is mainly just the pretty one? Do I need to say that Mina in the comic was actually a highly intelligent and competant agent who actually helps to form the League?
half the scenes tho where he was complaining about them doing nothing, he cut the scene before an actually important conversation occurred such as Quartermain teaching Sawyer some marksman lessons

To be honest, the final years of Sean Connery's acting career wasn't all that bad in terms of how many good films he had in comparison to the bad ones. Before LoXG, he did Entrapment and Finding Forrester, which are far better films. Even The Rock is a great film, the last good action flick of his career. And while turning down the other roles he is infamous for, I'm glad he did because I can't see anyone else in those roles, especially for Gandalf and Dumbledore.
“The Avengers, but with Victorian literary characters.” That.... that’s actually pretty accurate.
But it is more like justice league. It is ok but could of been so much better.
