- This engine was so loud and furious that it shook the whole NRE building. Very impressive. NRE's Tom Nelson explains this engine and does several dynos. For more NRE information go to nelsonracingeng.... For Media Production go to veritasmoviestu....
Sounds beautiful... just dying to be let loose !!
"Farmtruck" type engine.
You talking about that ""Infamous dragster red farm truck"..ain't ya??
The genius pure genius had the opportunity spoke to Mr Nelson real California Guy. Love is engines when my ship comes in 427 twin turbo keep up the good work Tom
That motor does sound pissed off. lol
Love the vids Tom, keep em' comin!
Naturally aspirated. Only way I roll. Don't want no blowers or turbos or fuel injection
632ci big block on pump gas oh hello you beast
Dat RPM and response on a 10litre xD
In my opinion, the outlet on the valve cover(s) for the vacuum pump(or exhaust pulse, crankcase pressure equalizer) should be at the front of the valve covers, not the back. Under acceleration g-forces, the oil is pushed to the rear of the motor allowing oil to run up and out the tubes. If installed in the front of the valve covers the oil is less likely to cause loss of function, and oil. I know this from making the same mistake years ago. I do want to say that you built one beauty of an N/A motor! Running on pump gas that has numbers anybody should be proud to have under their hood.
It was that way to run on dyno, ina car they would put that valve cover on opposite side of engine.
RIP headphone users.
Definitely smokes a 575 GM crate
Sweet ................ Everyone go racing
cant wait to make that call this year finally for mines am so close been saving up my GBODY WILL LOVE THIS BAD BOY 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Or call Summit for an all-new, all-forged 632 short block assembly for $5600, add a pair of AFR 377 heads for $3800, add a solid roller cam and you're 95% of the way there. Can your transmission hold it?
Organized disaster!!👍🏿
What would a motor like that set me back for ?
100 k
Got to get one for my 57 chevy
1.3 hp / cu in street motor! nice.
Sounds like Norman Kirchner doing that walk around narration
nice
Nasty!
Great engine what's with the weird movie just saying
FULL PULL!
Lol at the stream of gas shooting into the carb . Also, those headers are massive.
I wish
840 hp are good but a Supercharger on top of that
Is that duct tape on front of the breather?
I'm putting out 4900+ hp on pump gas with 550 + cu in block with all roller bearing, supercharged, fuel injection. It will run at 10,000 rpm... it's all in the math and how much $$$$$$ you want to blow. It also helps when I've been building engines since I was 13 years old... I don't drag race anymore, I guess I pushed the envelope too many times and the last time I drag raced I had a bad panic attack waiting for the tree to drop. I just shut it down and put her back on the trailer. Now she sits with many good and not so good stories. I still get in and sit thinking about the smells, feeling the heat thinking about just how noisy racing is. I started the car a few years back and pissed off the neighbors.... my old man wanted to see if it still started. It did. I was sooo tempted to rip down a local back street, but I didn't. I'd drive it locally, but driving in traffic with a Lenco trans is not a good idea. I don't know how tinman does it.... I'd put video up on UA-cam, but we had a really bad fire back in 2003. I still have the car but lost everything, including my infinity and my gf's cat... we've since rebuilt, but memories are all we have now.
Vids of your engine or it didn't happen. A 550 ci supercharged engine running at 10k rpms? Making almost 5k hp? And doesn't have to be rebuilt every couple passes? I gotta see videos of it before I'd believe that. I've never seen anyone build an engine quite that badass. If it was as simple as "doing the math" lots of engine builders would build shit that crazy.
@@VicinalElk44104 it was rebuilt all th time. Very unreliable. Friends of mine called it a hand grenade.
@@petroldevo9934 I bet. It's really hard to build an engine that would survive that kinda RPM for very long at all even if it made less than a thousand horsepower. My favorite sound though is an engine running at 9k+ rpms. My favorite car is the 12k rpm nova because of how it eats even with such a small engine
@@VicinalElk44104 we went through a lot of configurations and actually learned alot working up to an engine that does this. I would like to explain how this kind of horse power is done, just as it is with racing teams some things are kept secret. I can say this, the engine wasn't a normal configuration, we used over head cams. Basically we made a pissed off version of the cosworth twin cam, just a hell of a lot bigger and costs a shit load to run. It basically was an experiment that just wound up in a 1938 Chevy. I quit racing back in the early 90's. I still have the car,
Who gives a shit about your life. Save it for dr. Phil . And fuck the cat.
I think this Dyno is a tad low on hp #s
This dude is badass in my book
WTF it's croovy of course
Can these fit in an ac cobra?
Add a progressive shot?
1.3 hp/cid? are you kidding? you're not even a player under 1.5-1.6 hp/cid. I've seen small blocks make similar power on pump gas. no wonder you use turbos
It's not always about max horsepower...
stureah
true. It's about paying MORE for a mountain motor that doesn't like to rev, and idles high, than NRE's own pump gas 572 big block Chevy.
Like he said, this is a streetable engine.
08.26 Holden VL Commodore front cut?
I didn't know Motors run off gasoline?
Pump gas = the same gas your moms car runs off
Wow man serious.....
What's the most compression you can get in your 632 15 to 18 to 1 please let me know
Looking for strictly drag race engine the 565 I have now has more horsepower than your 632 and it has more torque I need to know what you can get if you add tons of compression
@@bigredracer7848 he's running pump gas and getting 800HP; assuming approx 10-10.5:1 static CR. At 15:1 on race gas you're 1100+HP
@@velle71 how high could you go with e85?
@@chickenfoundation9323 the problem with e85 is never truly knowing what octane rating you're getting.. you'd want a tester to check at the pump but I've seen 100-110 octane pump e85. I'd assume around 1000 hp on good fuel 💪
Lol.
Nice
Will it fit in my Camaro?
Depending the year man. I got a 632 on my 70 Monte Carlo
How much do a big bark like that cost
Estimate around $15,000 mine cost me that but tax and shipping around $17,000 but it all depends. Depending on the company on where you wanna get your blue printed engine.
William Hudson That’s more engine than you’ll ever need for a lot of applications lol. I’d recommend a 572 crate motor from Chevy. They’re like 15k or so, and you just go pick it up at your local dealer.
Yeah and you lose about 150 of that through the drive line.
Why do you start the pull at 4500? I would like to see it start at 3k, hell maybe lower. If I had that engine in a street car I wouldn't put a 4500 converter behind it.
I think you answered your own question.
I want to see him hold one of those at 10k for 6 seconds just to see how much faith he has in hid builds maybe on one of his small blocks he could do that, it would make my life
Anybody pushing a big block to 10k needs to have their head examined. If this was an old pro stock motor, maybe 10k, maybe, but this is a stock block style motor.
