Another great lens review 👌. I was planning on picking this one up while it's on sale but my son bought me the Z 24-120 for my birthday(I'm loving it). I think I will probably just use my 1.8 primes if I need the extra light. Thanks for the review man.👍
I would love to have this lens if I had the extra money, I have the F/4 version, so I will have to settle for that for now, but it is also a great lens! Great review.
Hi @zwade photo do you still find this lens rocks on the Z9? I"m assuming the answer is yes but most of the reviews for this lens were from before Z9 was released. Yours is more recent but I know you got your Z9 after you did this review.
@@dah7772 I would get the 24-70 while it’s still 1996. We’ll never see it again. If you want some sample images with the Z9 and 24-70 before you buy I could probably put something together

I haven’t shot the 24-120 yet, but if you have the budget, and I didn’t have a zoom, I always prefer less range as historically, they’ve been better, but I do hear the 24-120 is real good
Nikon new focus on video probably steered the Z mount holy trinity away from innovation. Unlike the f/2.8 AF-S trinity that was launched with the D3, it only introduced the NOCT to showcase the Z mount and the 50 f/1.2 S to fill the f/1.2 hole partially from the past several decades. Just as Canonites were envied with the Nikon 14-24 f/2.8 G and even adapted it for the EF mount back then, I rather see some innovative lenses such as 28-70 f/2 or 35-150 f/2-2.8 as a photographer. IMO, the f/2.8 holy trinity may be long in the tooth. BTW, if you find the control ring is too loose or accident-prone, then try a rubber band that based on same DIY fix for the 18-200 DX lens creep. The green one that I used on my 50 f/1.2 S makes the lens looks less dull and works well to do +/- EV.

This lens kicks ass no matter what camera it’s on. Z6, 6ii, 7ii, even Zfc. And of course Z9
