This is hands down the best Faraz Anwar interview! Haven’t heard him speak with so much enthusiasm and detail. Props Umair for conducting a great interview!
Wow! So good to see Faraz. Love that kid!! we’ve shared some amazing memories. I directed some of his solo project videos for Pepsi top of the pops. Atif Shariff (Collage)
Thank you bro yes it’s about time we all spoke openly about the scene and how things got to this point - that’s the only way we can hope to ever move forward!
What a treat this was! I've had the pleasure of being taught by Faraz bhai for three months and he really opened my eyes to another world of practicing. Happy to hear that he's started teaching at NAPA now. Wish him nothing but the best! 🤘
@AforAleph bravo. We don't want to lose any musicians but what to say after listening stories from legends they are hardly surviving in Pak. Very sad but if they are still motivated that's very brave. 🤞
Loved how personal this was. For upcoming musicians like me hearing you both talk about who inspired you to play is very important. One of the best podcasts ever by Aleph
What an amazing interview. Raw, honest, filled with passion and showcasing what makes Faraz Anwar unique and a truly an amazing artist and legend for us! Thank you for this!
Listening to him from bery early nineties when Music Chanel Charts was intriduced on TV. He was behind all the impressive strings being played in songs by different artists of that time. Great contribution by Mr Faraz Anwer in our music industry. Living legend. And Sir yiur solo in Noorie Mere Log is out of this world.
I have been his fan since longest time. and have watched all his interviews ever, since mizrabians or dusk time. I don't know if I would get anything new as I don't think I have missed any think but now I am starting to watch this 1 HR podcast .... because faraz mann nnn
@@AforAleph just finished watching treat to watch. . . hahahahaha perhaps I had been a crazy follower for a long time.... by and large things were same except few stuff was definitely new like regarding recording equipment details of different era ... great interview. like I would say crux of like 30 interview is now on internet in a literally structured way. great questions great sequence... great subjects discussed.
thank you so much umair dar for this beautiful odcast no doubt faraz bhai is the most talented guitarist with amazing guitar skills kee u the great work guys
Umair Bhai, i am the only person in Pakistan who dry ran Insaan's solo on the notebook with no computer or CD player at home but by slowing the speed of Dish TV Channel down. Back then it was one of my damn fave solos and today i realize that it's an UNBEATABLE sequence of notes in the Pentatonic Blues scale. Highly emotional melodically! ❤
I think he is in the same class as Petrucci. Now they even look like the same 😁. Again they both evolved and its good for them, they are artists and not entertainers afterall.
Faraz anwar is a dorm room rockstar... and I love him for that! He has been the level 999 bhoot I see as myself mediocre guitarist.... if you love metal then go listen to Mizraab's album Maazi hai mustaqbil... sunn bhi lena ab!
Life as a pakistani guitarist is very tough from my experience. In pakistan you hear you'll get molten lead poured in your ear, and abroad you get asked if there is a machine gun in your bag.
He's totally all over the place @33:35 this is how art, languages and, cultures develop, this is exactly how Jazz came into being. If rock or any other genre of music or art is performed in the Orient or Subcontinent it should carry the local elements and vice versa for the Oriental and Indian cultures' art forms reaching Europe, all art forms must represent the cries and woes and hues of their land. Oudh is the grandfather of all guitars, and Oudh is a Middle Eastern melody instrument adopted into western classical music to play harmonies. He's just being shallow to think on those strict lines, even classical music throughout the Europe is not alike, you can instantly tell a piece of classical music born in Russia from that of U.K's or Italian classical. Then, there's an element of elitism when it comes to art, he obviously hates Bollywood styled music since it's the music of masses, the repetitive melody is a very subtle way to connect to working class to get them like and memorize the tunes and lyrics, ever noticed how easily Bollywood tunes are turned into revolutionary struggle songs? Faraz Anwar is a really good guitarist, a pathetic singer, and a very tiny man when it comes to thinking, he sounds like some Hindutva fanatic drooling with casteism.
That’s a pretty unfair comparison to make - he’s just expressing his opinion as an artist; like any other artist he has his own preferences and tastes - it’s based on what he likes to listen to. You can’t fault anyone for that.
His badluck that he is from KARACHI he is being treated BY THE Different BOSSES same as they treated FAWAD ALAM ( cricketer) He is at the same level as mehdi hasan or madam moor jahaan but there is only 0.1% of awaam can undersrand his music ❤ for faraz
30:27 agree there is more commercial music in Pak. I consider Pakistani Pop Rock music is VIP music. Only for specific people. This not everyone's pill
This is hands down the best Faraz Anwar interview! Haven’t heard him speak with so much enthusiasm and detail. Props Umair for conducting a great interview!

Explicitly, newbies can find all Western rock legends playing in this one brilliant figure.
I think he is in the same class as Petrucci. Now they even look like the same 😁. Again they both evolved and its good for them, they are artists and not entertainers afterall.

You've got to have Afaq Adnan now!
Life as a pakistani guitarist is very tough from my experience. In pakistan you hear you'll get molten lead poured in your ear, and abroad you get asked if there is a machine gun in your bag.
Yes - but nothing worth doing is ever easy in life. We need more role models like Faraz Bhai to pursue our passions no matter what
Faraza bhai kya aap Circus Maximus sunte hain?
His badluck is he is from KARACHI
He's totally all over the place @33:35 this is how art, languages and, cultures develop, this is exactly how Jazz came into being. Good to see you! My advise to you would be "Promote Your Genre" and educate listeners of any type....
His badluck that he is from KARACHI he is being treated BY THE Different BOSSES same as they treated FAWAD ALAM ( cricketer)

❤ for faraz
So he is basically Joe satriani of pakistan
57:40 But how's that possible that no one is doing your kind of music in Pak. Someone should be there and can make a band with you...
47:40 damn what a struggle. Imagine what artist do in 70s and 80s in Pak. Still no value for artist in Pak
Vital Signs didn't copy every song, Yes they did took few tunes. But no one can discredit Rohail Hyatt's composition skills and Junaid bhais vocals.
Yup no one is disregarding their skill to steal someone else's work.
54:23 sad yaar
30:27 agree there is more commercial music in Pak. I consider Pakistani Pop Rock music is VIP music. Only for specific people. This not everyone's pill
4:07 classic Faraz Anwar humour 😂
37:50 please clear the Rumor if Faraz Anwar Left Pakistan for Good
He’s still very much in Karachi
Faraz anwar waste talent laikin bohtttt acha insan hay zabardast❤
Faarig player
Junoon and vital signs were copy paste bands that were overrated and forcibly categorized.
Lol....Son, your statement is as irrelevant as Ali Gardezi being the Bach of this generation.
Anchor sahi nahi.. interrupt bahut karta hai bolte hue guest ko
