You forgot the #1 top tip for propeller replacement: throw the crappy screwdriver that comes with the drone into the garbage and buy a good one, like the one you’re using in the video. I think I searched on Amazon for “#00 philips screwdriver”?
You are absolutely right Paul, thankyou! I did mention and link it in the previous vid ( ua-cam.com/video/R_AefY8jEjs/v-deo.htmlsi=zmtPn_oxc2XIkDCp ), but in case people haven't seen that will add this as the pinned comment for this vid along with an amazon link here : amzn.eu/d/imn4KmR
That's amazing watching videos in this funny way :D i came for the "pro-bllades" but stayed for the presentation and Geordie did a cool editing job! 3000 subs soon.
Thanks Paul - well it's a bit of a dry subject, and it's been done before, but I thought I'd take the opportunity to put my 'spin' on it 👀😉😁🖖 (you saw what I did there, right?😂)
Beardy buddy, you've got an exceptional talent for turning a 6-hour video into a project that needs 30 hours of editing (with inserts, FX, GIFs, voiceovers...) but it ends up brilliant, so I've got to say... keep it up. 🤷♂🧔
😂😂 Yeh - every vid - I kindof think "Yeh, this'll be a quick one..." and how wrong I am! This one could've been quick if I hadn't had to reshoot half of it! As always, thankyou 👍🖖
This propeller muddle confuses many people!😊 My Eye One Xtreme RC Logger drone was a Maplin return, the box marked faulty! I paid just £5 for it. Took it home, tested it the back 2 props were on the wrong way, there was nothing wrong with it!😊 There are usually marks on the drone arms near the motors which correspond with similar marks on the props! You've probably noticed DJI props come in pairs, it's important to change BOTH even if only one is damaged⚠️😲 They are a balanced pair, if you change just one, there is a chance they might be slightly different and cause a vibration or wobble! Plus it's important to change both because the older one may have a lot more flight time on it and be approaching the end of it's recommended life time, I think DJI recommend changing after 200 flights?
Yep all good advice, although *personally* I struggle to believe that mass produced props that are as cheap as they are, are 'balanced pairs', which is why I didn't mention it, but better to be safe than sorry I guess.... Re. the wear and tear, as part of a normal flight check the props should be checked over every time, but I take your point - internal wear and tear may not be obvious. Then again, I tend to go through about every set of props well before they've had 200 hours use! 🤣 Kudos on the bargain BTW! (I miss Maplins 😢) As always - Thanks for watching and the comment - very much appreciated 🖖🖖
@@amoktimeflies Yes it's important to visually check your props as part of your pre flight checks, I also run my finger along each, checking for nicks, cracks or just bugs 🐛 It's also worth noting all your prop screws are sitting flush rather than standing proud , a quick check to see if they are nipped up, without having to use a screwdriver! I agree, I doubt someone is sat at a prop balancing machine and going through each prop individually and carefully weighing them or adjusting the weight of each to make matched pairs! 😲😳😁 I guess they match them by using pairs that come out of the same forming tool, maybe they're weighed also and ones that are within a certain tolerance are packaged together? I have noticed different numbers on different props, I guess they indicate something? 🤔 The life time of a prop will depend on a lot of factors such as how hard the drone has been flown, how fast, how much blustery wind they've been subject to, how carefully they've been handled while the drone has been taken out of and put into storage etc and even cool / heat cycles can affect the material they are made of etc
I had what I thought was a minor crash in light branches there recently, made absolute mincemeat of all 8 blades and the lot had to be changed, couldn't believe it! I put the replacements on the right way, though! 🤣
Cheers Johnny - that’s why they call it ‘The Idiot’s Fidget Spinner’… well that’s what *I* call it anyway… and also that’s not really in the context of being born with a drone in their hands… wait… I think I need to start this reply again… 🤨😂🖖

@@amoktimeflies Yeah there's no way I'd have tried a field change, that screwdriver was an absolute disaster!

Could happen to anyone, only i will keep shtum when I do it! Keep up with the gd vids.
Thanks Richard - It's why I do this - it's kindof a learn along with me / it's OK to c**k up from time to time sort of thing 😊😁🖖
👍
You didn't crash it; the tree went after the poor little defenceless drone.
Well if I do let it go off on it's own, I only have myself to blame!! 😉
🤣🤣🤣
Doesn't it feel great when you realize your drone isn't really dead, you realize you just put the props on wrong?
Oh like you wouldn't believe!!!! And that a bit of superglue saves having to send her away..... 💖🖖
