    The police are underpaid adult babysitters, because people are not adult enough to deal with their own issues calmly.
    My grandpa was a Sargent for Phoenix Police with over 25 years of service, and retired back in '96. His old school police stories were freaking awesome. He passed away about 4 years ago and I miss his stories of babysitting for idiots.

    MikeyMo: It is very refreshing to come across some one that share his virtues, values, ethics and morals these days. I am 57 and have returned to college recently to finish out my JD in law. Your insight on how the Policing system works, has opened my eyes to more of the everyday issues that LEO face. The way you view everyday life and accept the dealings of your job leads me to believe that you have a better community due to your approach. From the videos that I have lurked through and the way you have handled these situations, leads me to believe that you have earned not only the trust of your community of all races but your following as well. This has led me to become a subscriber to my first media channel at my ripe old age, May God bless and support you and yours.

    Thank you for making these! I'm a 911 operator/dispatcher, and I wish I could see the outcome of many of the calls. I'm also interested in eventually switching to an officer position so these videos help me see both sides.

    Americans are too used to seeing cop shows where blood is flying, daily car chases and death. They have become numb to it all. It's so nice to see the other side of police work that is actually more common, as you told. I love your channel and you are a very nice officer!

    Amazing how many people can't solve their own problems. Worked 31 years with juvenile offenders and saw the same behavior pattern. Irrational thought processes and learned maladaptive behavior turns into generational dysfunction sadly. These cops are definitely in it to win it. Kudos to their intervention skills. Keep on keeping on.

    I came across your channel via UA-cam algorithm. I watched a couple of your videos. I just subscribed because you actually show the day to day average calls and not just the unusual ones. I'm a Paramedic/ Firefighter and although we do have serious calls, the majority are not life threatening so, I can relate. I work with local, County and State LEO's on pretty much a daily basis. Much respect for all of you.

Without a doubt you certainly have a very tough job as an officer and pretty much act as a counselor. Much respect for your overwhelming kindness and understanding of people.
    This particular video was pretty crazy. Thank God for the mute 🔇 button....I actually felt bad for you guys having to hear that women's screeching voice. I look forward to all your videos. Thank you for all you do. Please stay safe out there.

    I recently found your channel and have been watching a ton of your recent videos. One of the videos you posted a month ago about a woman who had issues with substance abuse made me want to share my story on why I want to become a police officer. So about a year and a half ago my dad overdosed on heroine while he was watching my sister. She was only about 5 at the time. This resulted in my grandparents gaining temporary custody of my sister while my dad served time in jail. Two officers from our local police department brought a brand new bed and mattress as well as a few stuffed animals and toys to my grandparents house so that my sister had something to sleep on and play with. Their actions have made me determined to become a police officer so that I can protect my community as well as give support to those who need it. Just like those officers did for me and my family.

    You guys are really good at being respectful and not adding drama to already dramatic stuff. I'm curious about how you're securing the videos--does your department/state basically have a version of FOIA? And what hard limits have they placed on you regarding what you can and can't request? Can any citizen request bodycam under some general public interest? My dept doesn't have any (yet) so am curious about that works for you.

    • @MikeyMoVlogs
      @MikeyMoVlogs  3 роки тому +1

      Yes it’s basically the same as foia and yes anyone can request them. There are limits but it depends on criminal case status and certain things which are protected like inside homes or medical facilities etc.

    I am clueless. When people used to yell talking to me I had a hard time not tuning out. We had a lady where I worked that was a claimed witch that put hexes on our male officers. She wore gold lame pants and a stocking hat with spices and herbs under it. We always knew when 7 11 had new clerks and she would spook them and they thought they would be robbed. She put a hex on an officer with me that he would never have an erection again. These calls are all too familiar when I was still working. You are good at talking with people and show a lot of patience.

    In this video, both calls appeared to be grounded in situations where the people involved are financially cornered to a point where their coping skills run out and 911 happens - like a reset button. In the last video, you have an addict who is just on the very precipice of going too far, or making the right decision and getting clean. Just the slightest amount of counseling *could* bring that guy back.. How you and many other officers conduct calls, such as without eroding someone's dignity or immediately barking orders is why I continue to fly a back-the-blue flag from my porch :)
