I definitely agree that nothing in Kpop is original. I always find it funny when people say that groups are copying NewJeans, when their concept itself is based on Nostalgia. Which nostalgia is based on the past, that has already been done before. Kpop runs off of trends and is influenced by several other cultures and also J-Pop. Good example with Le SSERAFIM’s Antifragile! Great explanations!

Everything is inspired by something else, That's just how human brains work. Even the more groundbreaking pieces of music. I do think saying ILLIT _copied_ NewJeans is just silly, but saying their sound is inspired by it or they took inspiration from similar things as NewJeans makes a lot more sense.

I didn't know ppl were saying that tbh but you explained this so well and honestly I don't think they understand that using the same concept that's trending isn't copying as they make it out to be and that standing out isn't originality. In overthinking kpop's words, " All songs are a remix " just like all books are remixes of the dictionary, nothing is ever original now.
