Thank you for posting this video. Mine was acting the same way and I was able to change mine out. NOW the trick is to tell the parts person, that you need the SENSOR FOR A GAUGE, NOT the sensor that has a dummy light, THERE IS A HUGE difference! and the cost is about $15.00 difference....Sensor with dummy light = $9.95 to $17.00.....Sensor with guage $33 to $40 depending upon part house....the person at part house will not remember to ask.....As a lady, who never did anything like this before....there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE, the Repair manual does not even reference this information and I will not get back about 3 hours of time wasted on lack of information! Again, thank you how it came out and went back in was spot on!!

Do you know if the oil sensor it’s the same 4.0 and 2.5? I can’t find one for my 1997 2.5 only 4.0

I think I over tighten mine by a little to much but I cannot tell. Is it possible to loosen it at all or will that cause it to leak?

You can try and hope the fitting didn't crack, but it's easy to replace with 1/8" NPT generic fittings, space permitted. If you apply either teflon tape or Vibratite thread locker to the thread it's self, that allows more flexibility in orienting the fitting without leaking. That connection really does not leak even just with a little bit of tightness.

Have you ever had an oil leak by ignitin coil behind braket? My 2.5 jeep cherokee 4 cylinder is leaking oil and wetting my starter with oil if yes can you help me what can be leaking from that area

Jesus, I have not. Sometimes slow oil leaks can be tricky to find. I hope you can resolve it with visual inspection, I had a 2001 Mercedes ML430 which spewed oil all over the engine, finally got rid of it because it leak oil from several places.

Mine is low when I release the clutch or when I go to neutral.
