Fantastic scene. I was watching Voyager a few days ago, Equinox. I was reminded of this scene when Janeway refused to stop pursuing Ransom even though she was putting her crew in danger. Even Chakotay had to stop her from almost killing one of the Equinox crew to get information. Janeway's, Ahab moment.
This is the fourth time Patrick Stewart went crazy. First was in the 1985 movie, Lifeforce, second was in the TNG episode, "Sarek", the third was in another TNG episode, "Timescape".
I love that she insulted him on an unknown level by invoking Captain Ahab. In the 24th century Khan’s Ahab-esque quest for revenge against Kirk may be the stuff of infamy, so Lily not only called him irrational but inadvertently compared him to one of the worst war criminals in human history.
Huge flaw with this scene. This isn’t Jean Luc Picard character. Not even a little bit. In the show he didn’t succumb to the need for revenge. Hell he didn’t even shout about it the episode after he was saved from assimilation. Yet six years later after a breakthrough with Q about what his purpose in life should be and his new found camaraderie with his crew, Picard suddenly has this thirst for vengeance? Picard is the diplomat. He isn’t the adventurer like Kirk nor is he the soldier like Sisco. This scene is so far away from how Picard would act it’s mind blowing more people don’t call this out. This is Sisko’s character. Not Picard.
Unfortunately Roddenberry was already dead at this point so it was free for all. I personally am conflicted, not only you are right about Picard, but seeking vengeance also goes against the Federation's principles. However, the scene itself it's so iconic that I have to give this movie a pass (also because this is the only good TNG movie). Consider it from an alternate universe.
Wrong. This summarizes the humanity within Picard in wanting to stop the Borg from eradicating civilizations. Locutus, massacred 40 Federation starships and murdered 11,000 Starfleet Officers. Picard had to live with this telling his crewmates he's recovered from being Borg, except he really hasn't. Now, when the Borg finally accomplished assimilation of his race, it's up to him to finally put an end to it. It's rather perfect, finally surmising all of his anger, rage, and wrath he hid having for the Borg into one passionate scene. THAT is Picard. He is human. Shortly after this scene, he apologizes and admits to being irrational due to his past experiences but it can't not be personal for Picard. One of the greatest scenes in Star Trek and for Picard, period.
@@JimHawpah bullshit. Literally the episode afterwards he came to terms with it. He never had a problem with the borg afterwards because Picard isn’t like that in the show.
@@canderoussnurd4265 You're clearly clueless, anytime the Borg are mentioned you can immediately tell his experience haunts him. You can live in your fantasy world of perfect beings, be my guest.
1:08 One of the most underrated Nos in Cinema.
Patrick Stewart is such an emotional actor its incredible!
How true, how true. 👏👏👏👏👏
Alfre Woodard was also stellar.
Enjoy this movie 👍🏻💕👍🏻💕👍🏻
Really do you like?
The chemistry between these two is epic and they get an Oscar in my book

Both performances are very memorable. Patrick Stuart is a legend.
“See you around, Ahab.”

Best Star Trek film. Better than Wrath of Khan, even though both movies are kind of similiar
You broke your ship……
I’m willing to give this show a try
Ja das ist ja auch
Skippy must always go down with the ship... Always has... 😶
Picard's characterization was so off-putting in this movie.
This is not star trek 😂
This is the scene that slowed
the whole movie 🎬 down
for me.
I took a bathroom 🚻 break
during this one , and didn't
miss a thing.
