I got new Spicer rear axle shafts drop shipped from Spicer in mid December, and my ABS sensor rings also weren't pressed on far enough. Thanks to your video, I knew to press them on the rest of the way before even installing them. I'm sure that saved a lot of headaches, as I was leaving to Moab the following weekend.

We ran a number of trails making first tracks in snow - and ice. It was sketchy! I think you saw some of the pics, including my pic from the Top of the World on new years eve in the hella yella JL on one of the JL facebook groups. On the way home we got to go by Sand Hollow outside St George. Just an epic trip.
I remember seeing it! Moab sounds like a wild time with snow or rain! 😂 glad to hear it was successful! Sedona is still on our list... but California will be our next big adventure this summer!
For the brakes, try taking out the 18mm bolts holding the whole setup on and just leave the other bolts alone. Once you get the caliper play squeezed in, you don't need to take the caliper bolts out.
make sure you torque the caliper bracket bolts and i use a dab of locktite just to make sure... those are NOT fun when they back off driving down the road. not to mention the risk of blowing a hole inside your wheel when it comes off.
Yea, Thts a good thought... those bolts are part of my routine bolt tightening routine... I have hear severe other friends of mine who lost bolts while driving.. 😕

you didn't need to seperate caliper. Two 18MM bolts and the complete caliper comes off. Also, there is no seal on the inside of the axle tubes on the rear, only the seals on the shafts.
Recommendation for loc-tite on the caliper frame bolts. I had one come out on the trail and ruined my wheel. I also now carry an extra mounting bolt (12mm x 150 fine thread). I have a narly picture of the broken wheel.

Shortly after installing these... the axle tubes started leaking.... assuming we broke the seal.... I replaced it... kept leaking... next logical guess was we tweaked the tube... we whee hard.... swapped it.... fixed the problem.... come to find out.. people swapping to the Yukon shafts have experienced the same problems... hoping they have fixed it already
Hi I'm running 37's 5-13 gears. Broke a factory shaft not surprising. Bought the dana spicer with chromoly broke that. Just wondering how those axles holding up.
U are correct... Im still learning... rear seas are at the bearing... front seals are deeper in... Loctite is always a great thing to use... really need to use it more often. Thanks for the reminder 🙌
Funny as usual, lol. Have you seen that synergy braket that attaches to frame and trackbar. Do you think that really help s our jeeps from swaying even after everything has been replaced except gearbox
We have actually... we ordered one to test out... we have the SS bracket on Bromance... haven’t noticed much change in steering from tht one.. tht synergy one actually helps hold tht steering box in place... we will test and let you know 🙌

Don’t think iv ever heard of tht company, but would definitely upset me also.. hate wasting our money on things we don’t ever use.. with throttle controllers... I ONLY recommend them if someone needs help with throttle control OFFROAD... Thts another video I’ll have coming up soon as well..
U can run 37s on the stock axle shafts, it really just depends on your application of use.. moderate wheeling and road driving.. 100% ok with tht set up... start getting a little crazy OFFROAD... chromos are a great thing to upgrade to... so when they do twist from the torque and traction... much greater chance/ ability they will bounce back to normal

I will try to use it with stock 4.10 gears but I don’t know how the 3.6 engine will do. I use to have the 2.2 eco diesel in Europe that was perfect in my Jl rubicon with a lot of torque! You don't have to put that torx bolt back in for the rotors, that's to keep the rotor in place at the factory. I had to drill mine out on our 09 Acadia after it broke my torx socket and stripped out. I was madder than a fat kid that didn't get any cake. Good video, playing catch up will have to see the MOAB bump soon! Happy Turkey Day next week!

Hey Mo! I was looking for info on chromolies and forgot you did this vid. Have you done Misty’s yet? Curious how other brands compare. Yukon is the only other ive seen available but requires more work since they don’t come install ready. I’m hoping to have regear done on my JLUR soon. Trying to decide if it just makes sense to put chromoly in the rear since shop will already have pulled axles. I like the price and setup of the Dana but curious if there’s something stronger. Like you said, I can’t find any info on how much stronger they are over stock.
So even if u don’t do it now.. Its an easy talk to do at a later date.. We have chromos for misty.. but I haven’t put them in yet... always something to do... and never enough time to do it. Dana makes good stuff but they don’t care much as far as customer service... every time I’ve contacted them... I get referred to the business I bought through... haven’t had issues with the dana ones in mine yet... but on tht same note.. I haven’t gotten a lot of chance to abuse...

They work great off road but not so great hwy.looks awesome on the jeep. I think if I stay with 44 tires may have to trailer it. I really love driving it to where we go off roading and the 40s no problem on hwy.but the 44s getting wobbly on hwy I put bead weights but still wobbles. No problem with 40s but the 44s I do.so I trying to check into what we can do about that.was really glad to see you upgrading your axels. Hows the j10 coming along? Lol, well 44inch tires is NUTS I won’t lie! I definitely believe 40s can get u around any trail. I’m with u... I’d rather keep my jeep driveable...it’s just enjoyable. J10 is waiting for me to order parts to get the rear 1 ton attached and operational... will likely be after Xmas before I can do tht.. glad the new gear set is meeting the needs!

the strength you talk about the splines is not accurate, if you take a closer look youll notice the solid shaft under the splines is smaller than the rest of the shaft, shouldnt affect strength better or worse. the shaft material is a significant upgrade though.

Rear Diff seals are on the shafts, not the inside so those outer bearings get lubricated, btw, no loctite on the shaft bolts?

Always glad to answer questions! I’m still on 4.10s with my 3.6... however I feel I if I was geared better... this twist wouldn’t of happened..

I had the mopar fox shocks before... hated em.. stuff as hell... every bump is hit felt like I got rear ended... iv been with the MC shocks since april-ish

I know it's probably unpopular to say but I stopped subscribing to LB channel. I just have nothing in common with them anymore. I was one of their first subscribers when they bought the JL and they were just normal folk's. Now they get nothing but the best and don't worry about breaking shit. I've got a family, house payment and pay for all my parts. Really happy for them and I know you guys are tight but they've outgrown a simple man like me.
