Grievous is a very good lightsaber practitioner. But Maul was extensively trained, and mastered several different fighting styles. That, plus the fact that he can use the force, means that Grievous wouldn't stand a chance.
Grievous might win if its a real fight. Remember that Grievous was beaten by Obi wan because he was shot by a gun without wielding any lightsaber at all. We havent see how Grievous does it with 2 lightsabers against obi wan.
@larsdalen Actually, its been stated by Lucas and others that, even if Grievous hadn't been killed by Obi-Wan, Palpatine would've seen to his demise. This was because Grievous was a Separatist leader, and thus a threat to Palpatine's plans of galactic hegemony. That, and Palpatine probably didn't intend for Darth Maul to die, although that is debatable, considering some of the evidence that he'd always planned to have Anakin as his apprentice.
he's a cyborg: half machine, half creature (he was wounded a long time ago so he was treated with robotic limbs & other body parts, mostly his outside)
@TOZZYTHEVERY1 So, Grievous was a General, almost destroyed the Core Worlds and Crippeld the Republic. He personally hunted down Jedi. That is something different then Black Sun Pirates.
@McCmillian I never said there weren't. I know who trained Grievous. I know how the CIS works. I know about everything of Grievous. But Darth Maul isn't such great sith as you say. Dooku and Sidious did believe in Grievous. Sidious never wanted to kill Grievous, only to make sure that Obi-Wan Kenobi is away during Sidious take over. But you don't have to be sith to have lightsaber skills. Grievous was a fearsome jedi hunter and became face of evil during the Clone Wars.
@MarzParty42 Actually, Darth Maul only killed 3 Jedi, the first 2 were in the book Darth Maul: Shadowhunter. Then Qui-Gon Jinn. Grievous may be a coward at times, but he's killed way more.
@jedimind28 You are indeed right. But lets also add to that: that Obi was not a "padawan", was more than a Jedi Knight. And one of those can be as powerful as a master (because masters are also knights asfter all). And, lets also say that Siths do NOT use organge swords... a real sith use red sabers, but they can use whatever lightsaber they found. But, yeah, Maul had a double red light saber, he was a sith knight and he also knew a lot about combat.
@MarzParty42 in the original version of The Clone Wars, Grievous was a friggin badass. He fought and defeated 5 Jedi at once. Ki Adi Mundi and Shaak Ti were 2 of them.
Grievous would easily win. Why? Darth Maul didn't even use the Force against Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon (I think he just used one Force push, near the end of the duel). He's a Sith Assassin, not a Sith Lord/Marauder. Maul's strength is in wielding a lightsaber, not in the Force. So, yeah, Grievous would win, because he's hardly effected by the Force. His talons would clamp down into the ground if Maul tried a push. He would get cut down if he tried anything else, because other Force moves need concentration, and Grievous moves too fast for him to concentrate.
Darth Maul would defeat Grievous. He was better then Grievous in the areas of martial arts, lightsaber abilities, and the force. Maul was trained since his childhood in martial arts by Sidious. In order to wield the double bladed saber you must have exceptional martial arts abilities. Maul displayed these when he fought Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. He delivered many kicks if I can remember correctly, 4 to Obi-Wan and 1 to Qui-Gon. With a lightsaber Maul and Grievous were both great. I do however have to give the edge to Maul because Grievous was only taught Shii-Cho and Niman by Dooku while Maul learned Juyo from Darth Sidious. Which requires some mastery of every other form. But this is very very close. Maul's force ability is overlooked, but powerful. Being raised by Sidious, he learned quite a bit about the force. He couldn't use force lightning but his ability was still exceptional. Remember it was Maul's force push that knocked Obi-Wan off the balcony. While Grievous can't use the force at all. Grievous was a coward. He retreated against many including Anakin, Obi-Wan, Windu, and Ahsoka. In fact he tried to retreat before his death. Maul intimated the great Qui-Gon Jinn enough to make him retreat. In fact, they do actually face off twice in Maul's canon comic book series. The first time Maul is forced to retreat to save his forces that are being overrun by Grievous's droid army. The second time Maul defeats him and places him and Dooku in custody. So Maul would win against Grevious. Sith > Droid
Mr. Miyagi I am talking about the real Star Wars Grievous, not the one from Disney's AU. The Disney Grievous couldn't even kill a padawan, duh. And martial arts won't help against Grievous, and the Force wouldn't either because Grievous never gives his opponents enough time to concentrate. Even Dooku had trouble in his duels with Grievous (source: Labyrinth of Evil), and Dooku is FAR superior than Maul. Maul is just a mere assassin. Not to mention that Grievous defeated multitudes of Jedi at once including Council members. He also easily handled Ventress and Durge. (source: original Clone Wars series, General Grievous comic, Rogue's Gallery comic, Labyrinth of Evil, Star Wars: Obsession...)
Mr. Miyagi And in the very same show (or should I say rubbish?) that you mentioned, Obi-Wan defeats both Maul *and* his brother, whatever the hell his name is. But Grievous forced Obi-Wan to flee on more than one occasion. Your argument is invalid.
Commander Keldo Nah man Maul would win. You said the force wouldn't help? In ROTS Obi-Wan force pushes him against the ceiling and Grievous books it for the exit. In the original Clone Wars show Mace Windu force crushes his chest and then Grievous runs. The force affects Grievous a lot hence why he runs from it. Grievous lost 2 hands in less than 30 secs against Obi-Wan. Against a superior wielder of the lightsaber such as Maul, Grievous would have no chance. Maul mastered Juyo. It was the deadliest of the lightsaber forms. And you can't say martial arts wouldn't be a factor because if Grievous lost some hands (which would likely happen because of Maul's lightsaber ability) he would start throwing and punching his opponent like he did to Obi-Wan before his death. And as I said in my previous post Maul's martial arts ability was far superior than Grievous's. He defeated Pre Viszla without a lightsaber. And don't forget that Maul and Savage captured Obi-Wan and assassinated Duchess Sattinne in front of him. If Maul wanted to he could have executed him. (souce: original clone wars series, new clone wars series, revenge of the sith, and darth maul son of dathomir ALL CANON)
Mr. Miyagi 1. Force Crush is a Dark Side move, something Grievous wouldn't have known a Jedi would be capable or attempting to do that to him. 2. The movie had to be rushed so Dooku's death and Grevious were both short lived so they had enough time to showcase the main battle, Obi-wan vs Anakin and Yoda vs Sidious. The original clone wars show's what grievous is really capable of... being able to dodge most of the force powers (save force crush as its a focus/targetting dark side move that mace pulled out of his sleeves) being able to take on garrisons of clone troopers a long with elite senate guard troopers, the jedi would easily die to this amount of troops like they did in the movie (some were caught off guard and some actually had fast enough reflexes to fight back but still die to only 5 troopers) and Grievous can take on at-least 6 Jedi's at once with his Saber combat. If the pre-quel trilogy was never made, can guarantee you that Grievous would of slayed Obi-wan easily or at the very least, actually made a fight to the death instead of a Bonnie/Clyde car chase scene.
Also just saying but Starkiller was going to be anakins last name ( also Luke's then ) but Starkiller sounded to evil so they made Skywalker his last name
@VanSisean Not true, Grievous was programmed to listen to Palpatine and otherwise why would Palpatine make NK Necrosis. It was just to send Obi-Wan away.
@bomber1012 the rule of 2 was first introduced in the phantom menace bro...and then they made the back story with bane. =) and yeah wisdom was maul's problem and thats why he was not able to figure out what obi wan was trying to do at the end of phantom menace.
@bomber1012 no buddy...obiwan centered himself wit the light to win that fight...watch it again. The whole point of that scene was he was angry, he fought too aggressively, and maul was able to find an opening...when obiwan calmed himself and reached out with the force is when he won. If you dissagree thats cool. But i'm also going by things said by george lucas and nic gillard in old hyperspace magazines...which doesn't matter anyways because george changes everything lol
is this a real game or is this some animation program you used if its an animation your using whats it called? or if its a game whats it called and for what systems?
@bomber1012 obi wan was a padawan technically buddy...his trials were defeating darth maul. then he was given the rank of knight at the end of movie...you did watch it right?
@jedimind28 Yeah, I knew that of the rule of 2. But it does not start in "phantom menace", it starts when Darth Bane creates the rule (was he who created it, right?) ... Then, Palpatine, aprendice of Plagueis, continues the rule... however, I think that Palpatine had more than 1 aprendice: Darth Maul, Darth Tyranus, Darth Vader, Mara Jade, Lumiya... Maul's weakness was wisdom? didnt knew that. I thought it was Arrogance.
@larsdalen I've never heard anything about Grievous being 'programmed.' Grievous was biological, not a robot...the robotic casing was just a means of life support and battle enhancement, just like Darth Vader's suit. And, if Palpatine had programmed Grievous to be subservient and obedient, then why didn't he do the same in Vader's case? It would've cost him a lot of trouble later on, and it's a hell of a lot more convenient.
The truth is that Grievous is a better lightsaber practitioner but in an all to all face off Maul wins for the simple reason that he can use the force.
@bomber1012 well i am a super nerd...lol. in the movie he is a sith lord. Becaue in phantom menace starts the rule of 2. The rule of 2 states there are only to be 2 sith at a time. A master and apprentice. And even though Maul, Dooku, and Anakin were apprentices of palpatine...Each was a sith Lord respectively. Maul's weakness was wisdom...as you saw how he was defeated. It's hard picking a favorite sith lol
@TheModderPL Grievous was wounded after Mace force crushed him when he kindapped Palpatine right before the start of EP3, hence him coughing in the movie all the time. The animated series just fucked him over for no reason. Grievous is very strong, he defeated a lot of padawans and fought on parr with Kiadi Mundi.
for christ sakes everyone. if it has something that the normal game doesnt have its called a mod and mods are only for the pc versions of games. stop asking what system
Darth Maul spent nearly his whole life training constantly in the ways of the dark side, he is the first apprentice of Darth Sidious, a master of the double blade and has killed countless jedi and other enemies, General Grievous is a cyborg who Count Dooku trained for like 10 minutes, you can give him a hundred fucking lightsabers but he'll still be a noob fighting only one person with them, which is why he always relies on his bodyguards to get the job done for him. Darth Maul wins.
@bomber1012 no dood...arrogance was anakin....wisdom was maul...or atleast thats what Nic Gillard, and George Lucas. They said he couldn't figure out what obi wan was trying to do. And that would follow under your first definition =)
Wait no never mind darth maul didn't die he got robot legs then he fought palpatine and loss so palps had other uses for him and now mauls in TV show rebels and in comics after rebels darth vader kills maul For grievous, he's not dead either, in comics a scientist found him and fixed him, but he put a chip in his head making him half grievous and half machine, because of this he fights with a double bladed red lightsaber and the gun that was used to kill him, So no maul survived obi wan but died later by darth vader, Grievous survived obi wan but was half himself and half machine Hope this helps to the people who said they died by obi wan or thought that
@jedimind28 first, sorry for the many replys, LOL now, after a lot of search, investigation, and reading... I will change my "Fav Sith" or character... to say that: "Darth Krayt" is now in that honor position, haha. Not only is my fav sith, but also is the one that most represents me... if I would be a sith, I would totally be him.
I hope screw attack's death battle does this. It'd be nice to have them end this debate of the only 2 good things on the prequels... or in mid fight, have jar jar, kid anakin and 2 and 3 anakins appear, put aside their differences and kill those losers.
Guys maul survived be cut in half shocked by sidious by pure hate and death and died at the hands of obi wan while Grevious was shot to death by obi wan and also Grevious doesn't have the force and maul bested him multiple times in comics and really hates him for killing Mother Visla and as I said rage makes him stronger
General Grievous is better. You can't argue. It is canon that he is better. He has killed LOTS of Jedi, he was pwning Jedi and Clone Squadrons on geonosis, nobody knew he existed, because there were no survivors. Don't believe it? Go on the official Star Wars Website and look up General Grievous in the databank. It cleary says it
@jedimind28 well, yeah, more or less (I thnk). He was not a Master, so, he was not a real "lord" sith. (That why I said: "sith knight"). Dooku was a Lord Sith, but he also was an apprendice (but he was also a master) ... Hum, Im getting confuded about him, LOL // but he is my fav sith ! _ and Im getting all of this from playing games and reading, investigating, and trying to pay attemption to the films. Im a fan, but not a super-nerd fan, I got a friend they he really is one of those.
@McCmillian That's not even true...Darth Maul wasn't able to defeat so many jedi. But look at star wars, both where defeated by Obi-Wan. And that isn't a good comparing, its just nonsense
@jedimind28 ohh, so, then after that they created the story of Bane ?! (well, didnt knew that, hehe) But cool ... And, then, it was not wisdom, it was Arrogance what blinded Maul. _ wis·dom=> The ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight.= Common sense; good judgment. ar·ro·gant=> Having or displaying a sense of overbearing self-worth or self-importance.= Marked by or arising from a feeling or assumption of one's superiority toward others.
@jedimind28 And for me Maul is my 2° Fav (almost the 1°) Because he represents a true warrior, a true sith: hate, anger, fear, arrogance, power, wisdom, ... but he also was weak for not killing his master (or at least, trying a second time). He also was "resurected" like... lots of times! He fought with Jinn and won, with Obi wan and lost, with Anakin and lost, with Vader and lost (but he was superior, Vader almost dies that time!, you must know the stroy however), with Luke...
@MarzParty42 Grievous had taken power away as in the orignal series he took on 3 jedi masters,2 knights, and 1 padawn. The only 3 that lived were the masters and they almost all died but ARC Cloens arrived and saved there asses.Grievous without the damaged chest would ttly woop darth mauls ass.and he took obi wan kenobi on as a master and nearly ripped his ass off and darth maul got pwned by obi wan as a simple padawn.I like them boh but depending his condition grievous would win.
No way Maul would win. Grievous went toe-to-toe with 5 Jedi and held his own, 3 of which were Aayla, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Shaak Ti. Maul has been on Lotho Minor for the past 10 or so years in a state of insanity and most likely hasn't been doing much training, though I don't like how they made him kick Obi-Wan's ass in spite of this, even though Obi-Wan has had the past 10 years to better himself and become a Master.
i am glad darth maul won because he has 2 lightsabers which is saber staff and he can use it as 1 plus he can use the force and smash general grievous in a ball bu i like both of them
@ArchHeretic92 not going by what nic gillard and george lucas said in old hyperspace magazines...and george lucas has ruined grievous with the clone wars....i really like the clone wars but it just tramples any continuity with most of the characters
I've heard of Grievous, but who in the world is Gervious?
+Nigel Joshua Orbe yes LOL
+Nigel Joshua Orbe General Gervinho
Grievous is a very good lightsaber practitioner. But Maul was extensively trained, and mastered several different fighting styles. That, plus the fact that he can use the force, means that Grievous wouldn't stand a chance.

Grievous: "I...Aaaghh!" *Head is severed*
This is my childhood.
Proto Kirby what is this game
Jedi Academy
If you are watching this, you are a certified legend
Grievous might win if its a real fight. Remember that Grievous was beaten by Obi wan because he was shot by a gun without wielding any lightsaber at all. We havent see how Grievous does it with 2 lightsabers against obi wan.
Isn’t Maul really good with Form 1 of Lightsaber Combat? That’s all Kit Fisto used when he easily beat Grievous
2 red lightsabers vs 2 blue lightsabers & 2 green lightsabers
Btw, what's KotF mean? Knights of the What?
Ryan Hubbard force
EPIC
great fight
@larsdalen Actually, its been stated by Lucas and others that, even if Grievous hadn't been killed by Obi-Wan, Palpatine would've seen to his demise. Why are people saying shaak ti and Ki Audi died by grievous shaak ti died by Starkiller and Ki Audi died by order 66
Oh. my. fucking god. Shaak ti died by order 66 as well. Force Unleashed is not anything resembling canon.
No shaak ti dies in a deleted scene where gg kills her
Trainer Hikaru Um... no...
Yes look it up
Trainer Hikaru Deleted scenes are not considered canon, mate.
could you please do a map review of the entire duel of the fates map please i really want to see what it looks like thanks
@TOZZYTHEVERY1 So, Grievous was a General, almost destroyed the Core Worlds and Crippeld the Republic. He personally hunted down Jedi. That is something different then Black Sun Pirates.
Hey man, nice vid btw. How do you make those slo-mo moves? Is there a key i can press to enter slow motion?
every time gervous kicks darth maul does something epic
@JediDrallig2 Grevious is a little annoying, but you think double blade is cooler than 4 lightsabers?
0:31 grievous looks paralyzed lol
@McCmillian I never said there weren't. I know who trained Grievous. I know how the CIS works. I know about everything of Grievous. But Darth Maul isn't such great sith as you say. Man Like You make darth maul move to the top so the saber behind a line on the floor?
@MarzParty42

Is darth maul the only one that can do slow-motion cuz it would look epic with the other too
@TheModderPL i know. he's also in the original and new clone wars shows. type in Grievous vs Jedi. he owns the crap out of them
Everybody can agree that Darth Maul tore his asset up
Please oh please oh please tell me how to get this amazing version. Please
do these 2 battles
Darth Vader vs darth maul
Jango fett and Boba Fett vs Grevious
@jedimind28 Yeah, I knew that of the rule of 2. But it does not start in "phantom menace", it starts when Darth Bane creates the rule (was he who created it, right?) ... Then, Palpatine, aprendice of Plagueis, continues the rule... however, I think that Palpatine had more than 1 aprendice: Darth Maul, Darth Tyranus, Darth Vader, Mara Jade, Lumiya...
Maul's weakness was wisdom? didnt knew that. I thought it was Arrogance.
If it were the 2D grievous fighting instead of the newer ones, then he would more than likely win, imo.
honestly they should make these games more realistic. when the lightsaber slices through you, you die.
@vadeywadey Why would that be wrong? Grievous had like 50 lightsabers or more, he could take three blue and one green, doesn't matter much for him.
now you should make one were Maul ownes Vader
@larsdalen I've never heard anything about Grievous being 'programmed.' Grievous was biological, not a robot...the robotic casing was just a means of life support and battle enhancement, just like Darth Vader's suit. @MarzParty42 Yeti he got pwned by a Padawn... Grievous got pwned by a Jedi Master (Both by Obi Wan)
is the realistic saber combat on, in this vid?
The truth is that Grievous is a better lightsaber practitioner but in an all to all face off Maul wins for the simple reason that he can use the force.
pd:
Obi Wan won because of hate. But was the only true moment in his life that he use it.
Anakin was always surounder by his fear, hate and arrogance.
how many times has grievous been cut in half?
My two favorite "bad guys" haha
is it possible to get jedi academy and kotf on my pc because i have windows 7 and it keeps saying the VM_UI failed or something and nothing works.
well, thanks anyway man, you help me a lot! .
hey drallig! r u doing ok? i heard u were super sick
@McCmillian So, Ki-adi Mundi, Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti and some more jedi where force sensitive...they got beaten by Grievous
@TOZZYTHEVERY1 Grievous killed many clones and jedi, but also used his fleet to bombard planets like Duro and Humbarine
Wow if they was partners they be unstoppable.
Is there an online star wars game? where you can fight jedis and siths all over the world?
what part of star wars game is tht? jedy acadamy??
@bomber1012 well i am a super nerd...lol. in the movie he is a sith lord. Becaue in phantom menace starts the rule of 2. The rule of 2 states there are only to be 2 sith at a time. I see many hits and no deaths. This is not lightsaber powerlevel so it must be the new rubbersabers they got for sale at the imperial shop.
I love grievous' way of fighting, the way we walks, the sort of thing he is... But I don't like the way he thinks and he talks...
Old memories of this game... hehe
How do u create duels
wat is this game called and wat system is it 4 plz answer?
for christ sakes everyone. if it has something that the normal game doesnt have its called a mod and mods are only for the pc versions of games. stop asking what system
What game is this ? How can I play ? What system

@bomber1012 no dood...arrogance was anakin....wisdom was maul...or atleast thats what Nic Gillard, and George Lucas. They said he couldn't figure out what obi wan was trying to do. And that would follow under your first definition =)
Actually, Darth Maul's fate isn't determined in CW, Sidious had something he wanted Maul to do
is this on pc? what game is this after all? isnt it jedi academy 3?
@JediDrallig2 what game is this
Wait no never mind darth maul didn't die he got robot legs then he fought palpatine and loss so palps had other uses for him and now mauls in TV show rebels and in comics after rebels darth vader kills maul
For grievous, he's not dead either, in comics a scientist found him and fixed him, but he put a chip in his head making him half grievous and half machine, because of this he fights with a double bladed red lightsaber and the gun that was used to kill him,
So no maul survived obi wan but died later by darth vader,
Grievous survived obi wan but was half himself and half machine
Hope this helps to the people who said they died by obi wan or thought that
Also he was a sith lord not a sith knight...lol where are you getting this from? lol
@McCmillian That makes no sense...
@jedimind28 first, sorry for the many replys, LOL
now, after a lot of search, investigation, and reading... I will change my "Fav Sith" or character... to say that: "Darth Krayt" is now in that honor position, haha.
Not only is my fav sith, but also is the one that most represents me... if I would be a sith, I would totally be him.
I hope screw attack's death battle does this. It'd be nice to have them end this debate of the only 2 good things on the prequels... or in mid fight, have jar jar, kid anakin and 2 and 3 anakins appear, put aside their differences and kill those losers.
isn't grievious a machine?
since when can DARTH MAUL out of all people, shoot LIGHTNING?
It cleary says it
what game is this anyone please
star wars jedi academy 1
JDash da Reaper it's star wars movie battles
JDash da Reaper or star wars Jedi acdamey
JDash da Reaper Knights of the force.
is this an online game??? plz answer
_
and Im getting all of this from playing games and reading, investigating, and trying to pay attemption to the films.
Está chevere esta pelea... full sablazos!!
@jedimind28 ohh, so, then after that they created the story of Bane ?! (well, didnt knew that, hehe)
But cool ...
And, then, it was not wisdom, it was Arrogance what blinded Maul.
_
wis·dom=> The ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight.= Common sense; good judgment.
ar·ro·gant=> Having or displaying a sense of overbearing self-worth or self-importance.= Marked by or arising from a feeling or assumption of one's superiority toward others.
Anyone can win with god mode :P
@jedimind28 And for me Maul is my 2° Fav (almost the 1°)
Because he represents a true warrior, a true sith: hate, anger, fear, arrogance, power, wisdom, ... but he also was weak for not killing his master (or at least, trying a second time).
@TOZZYTHEVERY1 That's not even true, Grievous killed more jedi then maul.
@larsdalen Oh, and by cost a lot of trouble, I mean SAVE him a lot of trouble...
Darth Maul Win beacuse Have god mod :-/
That's what qui gon jin said when he was killed. "Darth maull, you hax."
yea what game is this?
whats the mod called again ??
Okay, Darth Maul wasn't able to create lightning. Yet he understood it and could resist it he couldn't create it.
9 times where Maul would have sliced Grievous in half is enough for me to stop watching
Why is Maul half naked?
i am glad darth maul won because he has 2 lightsabers which is saber staff and he can use it as 1 plus he can use the force and smash general grievous in a ball bu i like both of them
nice fight
@ArchHeretic92 not going by what nic gillard and george lucas said in old hyperspace magazines...and george lucas has ruined grievous with the clone wars....i really like the clone wars but it just tramples any continuity with most of the characters
