Excellent interview. Love Kip diving deep into revealing inner thoughts. Indeed, who writes the rules and says what is what?

Kip is a musicians musician. If I had a tenth of his talent, I'd be happy. Very humble and super cool guy. Was lucky enough to sing with him twice at his solo shows.

GREAT interview Brando! Really interesting to hear Kip say how he feels like his brain works differently than other people. I've always felt like he's operating on different level than most of us ... just seems like such an intelligent guy but also humble and so kind to his fans.

Been hoping for some good interviews since the new album was announced and this is great! Great questions and letting Kip speak. Kip is right about Pull being heavier! Winger 4 is also an unsung hero. Superb album

Was lucky enough to see Winger play at Aloha tower in Hawaii I think in 89 or 90. Great concert it was amazing since it was such a small venue. My brother and a couple buddies went with me as they knew I liked the band. But after the concert they all agreed with me that damn those guys really can play!

Also Pull easily one of the best albums of the 90s. Still listen to all of it at least every 6 months. But I have a lot music so for it to rotate that much is alot.

Such a Great interview, touching intimate or personal issues with total naturalness.Showing the most human part of the guest (Kip, besides to be a "top student" so talented musician, is a very nice, very humble and self confident person. I never understood why some other music, took their knowledges of ballet or classical music like a handicap, when I see that just the opposite things for his carrer. Congratulations

I know better that songs are works of fiction. 'Seventeen' can be sung in the perspective of an 18-year-old. It is like in cartoons where adults can voice act as kids. Nobody is mad when Nancy Cartwright and Masako Nozawa voice as boys, despite being women. Mike Judge would have been called a "creep" for voicing as boys in Beavis and Butt-Head. People love how Naoko Takeuchi made a comic series about girls being magical heroes in sailor uniforms because they can fight evil as a team.
Any corporate industry has always been bad because they follow trends that come and go. That is why "hair metal" and "grunge" are marketing slurs to talk outside the music. Being signed to any company means selling away your creative rights to those people, which is why even Metallica get shamed at. Corporations never care about their people nor any medium, despite their claim about supporting them.
Art is a creative expression, and should never be censored. Whether you love or hate works about magic, science, slice of life, sports, horror, war, and others is up to you. What is good or bad is different.

Winger still write different songs......the new Metallica sounds like leftovers from previous albums.

You know Mustaine is losing his mind now realizing James went step 9 on Kip Winger and not him:
Mustaine "You're an alcoholic! You have to apologize. Step Nine! Step Nine."
Hetfield: "All right, Dave , all right. I'm sorry. I'm very, very sorry. I'm so
sorry that I didn't want your rather bulbous ego b leaguing up my band and to find its way through the A league music I was going to write once you left."
James has now talked and texted more with Kip WInger in the last 2 years than the prior 40 years with Mustaine since kicking his ass to the curb

No disrespect to the interviewer, but stop talking about yourself and let Kip Winger talk... I'm sorry, but I don't give two s**t's about the interviewer's life and what he likes or doesn't like or what he has to cope with on Instagram or how good he is with Spanish, French,, acoustic guitar or anything else... Please for the love of God let the artists speak.

Great job by Kip. Terrible job by the interviewer. He spent more time talking about himself than asking pertinent questions from his guest. "I, I'm, Me, Myself." And questions about Beavis and Butthead, Playgirl, Gun's and Roses, Metallica? Very amateur.

My podcast is about GN'R...obviously I would ask about them. The Metallica story went viral. The "I/me/myself" is to bond with the guest to get better answers. Thanks for watching.

Lets not get crazy, the band Winger back in the day was one of a million copycat 3rd rate hairbands with nothing original going on. How they were precieved of had nothing to do with Beavis or Metallica but everything to do with thier cheesey lyrics and unoriginal sound. Metallica and Beavis were just a reflection of metal heads felt about them at the time. Its juat a result of being the softest hard rock band. Im very confused about all/any praise this guy getts for what he has done back then. I dont know about what he puts out today, but back then he always third rate.

I’ve been a fan of Winger since the beginning and I don’t care what other people thought/think. There’re many many good bands out there, not just Metallica. And who cares what one musician think about others, everyone has different taste in music/songs, thank goodness!

    • @Ragman666
      @Ragman666 Рік тому +4

So then I think you're not really that much into hairbands I guess. Musically Winger were far better than most of the Melodic Rock Bands that time. Especially their second and third albums are masterpieces. When it comes to cheesy lyrics I don't think Winger were cheesier than Warrant, Aerosmith, Poison or Crüe. Those were the times.

Nick, a point to ponder. You yourself are a musician, singer songwriter... Musicians / singers / writers - should never hurl shit at each other. You should know that. Rethink your strategy - don't disrespect other artists, when you yourself have your own songs on youtube. It's bad form. If you don't like a song or a singer or a guitarist, - tell your buddy, don't write it in public... It's just bad juju... No need to thank me for the advice.

I'm taking Lars' side on this one. I don't have tons of sympathy for a guy that wrote really trashy crap like "Seventeen."
