I lost my daughter this horrible year. I hope to GOD that my daughter is safe with CHRIST In heaven. That she knows that I love and miss her more than anything. That I am no longer myself without her. I pray for her soul and I pray that father GOD blesses her and that HE blesses me. Please father GOD be merciful to my daughter who is also your spiritual child.

My precious momma went to be with Jesus this year...as of now, I have no family except for in laws...it's very hard for me to not try and talk to her but I know I'm not supposed to, so I tell Jesus everything that I want Him to pass on to her, like telling her that I love her, but I want her to be totally and completely happy now and if she were allowed to look over me, I think it would hurt her to know how much I hurt from missing her so much...

I just did it for the first time this year, but for Father's Day & Mother's Day I got a Hallmark card for each parent. I filled it out as though they were still here to give it them. I read it to God & asked Him to deliver the message. That experience gave me more peace than any graveside visitation.

My mom died a month ago due to cancer. I also do the same thing, I ask God to tell her this and that. But I also greet her urn and talk to it sometimes, just a simple hi and hello.
Hugs for you. I understand how lonely it is. 😪 May God continue to comfort us during this trying times.

I’m open to that idea that we depart from our bodies and go to the presence of the Lord. But if we don’t become conscious In heaven until the resurrection then that’s fine as well. Either way I’m going to be in the presence of the Lord.

Absent from the body, present with the Lord. Who would want to see the evil and suffering on this world once you're in heaven? There's no more tears, no more pain, no more sin, no more sorrow. So no. They're not looking down on us. There's no reason to. They are worshipping and enjoying God's glory and majesty.

      Absolutely nothing like it.

    1. We don’t know for sure how much they see.
    2. If God grants them to see our suffering they don’t assess it with imperfect hearts but in a perfectly understanding way so as to not sin
    3. Hebrews 12:1 - not completely settles it as witness is also used to describe martyr’s testimony, but could be encouraging us in the race.
    4. Don’t pray to them - Hebrew 4:15 - “draw near to the throne”
    5. Don’t be sentimental, you don’t know where they are.

Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10 is an exceptionally clear text concerning death. “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. Kitty Kat Amen. This brief talk was surprising to me to say the least.
All scripture very clearly makes a case that no one is 'where they are' at the moment going, "Oh No! Johnny is doing drugs!" or "Oh Dear! My daughter just lost her legs in a car accident!" - There is a clear separation when we truly regard scripture, understand the nature of Heaven and our place within it, the character of God and the functionality of this physical world and 'the other side'.
I love Johnny Piper, so this was an odd one to sit through...
I can say, as confidently as I am saved, that my parents and others arent "looking down" and are not experiencing any aspects of this fallen world!
The very minutiae of a thought towards this earth would, almost in and of itself, be a sin...bring a 'feeling' or 'emotion' or 'memory' of this sinful world...and thus negate the separation from it!

@Gloria Sheppard Anyone who is among the living has hope -even a live dog is better off than a dead lion! For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten.Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished; never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun.Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil.Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun-all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun.Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. - Ecclesiastes 9:4-10 www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes9:4-10&version=NIV

When the Bible mentions "surrounded by so many witnesses or martyrs" I understand that as we have so many examples of saints who died for Christ, we should be encouraged by living and testifying like they did. NOWERE in the Scriptures, it is mentioned that the spirits of the deads are watching us. In instance, angels and demons are watching us day and night.

They have passed beyond the knowledge of what is happening with the living. These passages have influenced my thought, and belief that the dead are no longer aware of what's happening with the living. They are with Jesus. Even though they can look on the world with a perfect understanding, would it not still cause them sadness and pain to see what's happening with us who are still alive. Just my musings. Don’t forget that Satan and his angels still have access to Heaven. It’s only at the mid-point of the 7-year Tribulation Period that Satan is cast out of Heaven never to return.

When beings ascend and assess things in a perfect spiritual way what that means is that you will be changed. Certain extremely selfish animal genes will be modified to advanced genetics. Also, memories of selfishness, trauma, and violence will be removed. Only spiritually uplifting memories will remain.
No one should ever pray to a "saint" or Mary. That is like praying to a wall. They have no power or authority.
As for the question whether loved ones in heaven can look down on you, there's not much interest in that. Think of the material universe as a movie. To God and ascended beings in heaven the movie has already completely played. This why it says, "I am the Alpha and the Omega." So, looking down on you from heaven would be like watching a movie on ancient history of the universe.
Beings who have died and are just at the next level, the ghost/angel level, can visit you as a ghost. Also, at the next level they can go to the Hall of History and observe the real history of the earth. Once they begin the long ascent to heaven they have much more important things to do.

4:32 I'd like to clarify...we Catholics don’t pray to saints/angels, we pray ALONG WITH them to God. We only worship GOD (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit). We as the church are part of The Mystical Body of Christ (which includes Saints & Angels). We pray alone directly to Jesus, and also pray together with the Blessed Mother Mary and saints TO Jesus. Two people/beings praying together for the same intention carries more weight than praying alone.

Colossians 2:18 - Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
      Exodus 20:4-5
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
      5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
      Matthew 23:9
9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
      Hebrews 9:22
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
1 Peter 1:19- 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
      Mark 2:4-12
4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
6 But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

I very well could be wrong but I personally believe that majority of believers in human history who have died in Christ are asleep in him. There are many bible verses that suggest that we don't go to heaven until the second coming. To me it doesn't make sense that when we die, we go to heaven, then at the second coming get put back to the earth then get resurrected again. It just makes no sense to me.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 - Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Psalms 115:17 - The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.
John 3:13 - And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven.
Psalms 146:4 - His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
Psalms 6:5 - For in death [there is] no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?
Jesus also mentions that when he resurrects Lazarus from the dead that he was sleeping. Now I do believe certain saints of the bible have been resurrected to be with God already example Moses, Elijah etc.
In reality if you were to die thousands of years ago and were resurrected at the second coming it would feel like no time has passed since when you're dead you have no concept of time.

It's saying based on those people's testimonies, witnessing to us about their faith, is what that is saying.

After losing my parents I often wonder, but who would want to look down on their loved ones and see the grief and suffering the families may be enduring, we really don't know for sure, above all else, our hearts are deceitful so we will all come up with something according to our feelings if the word doesn't completely give us answers

Perhaps my scholarship and lack of formal training is on display here, but I wonder if Luke 15:10 is not relevant in some sense as well. "In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” So, sometimes we simply see that verse as the angels rejoicing when someone is saved. But it says that there is joy in the presence of the angels of God. The joy doesn't seem to be limited to the angels. So I wonder if those who have died in Christ and, therefore are also in the presence of the angels of God experience that joy when someone comes to Christ. Maybe it's a leap, but might they be aware of news of their loved ones on earth at least in some "digest" form?

Yes, it’s Ecclesiastes 9:5. If you read the verse in proper context it’s referring more to the finality of physical death. I wouldn’t take it too literally. Certainly not literally enough to build some sort of life after death doctrines oncbecause the book of Ecclesiastes is more of a philosophical diary of the author’s thoughts on life, death, and the meaning of life. The last two verses best summarize the whole point of the work:
      Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 NKJV
[13] Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all. [14] For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.

  • @pattygreen5229
    @pattygreen5229 2 роки тому +1

The answer to that question is No, they can't see us. Why? Because there is no one, except Jesus, God the Father, and angels who are in Heaven at the moment. ALL who have died, believers in Jesus as well as non believers, are asleep in their graves, knowing nothing (Eccl. 9:5), until the time of their specific resurrection. Believers are asleep in God's presence. There are two resurrections. One for the believers in Christ that will happen 7 years before Jesus returns to the earth to set up his kingdom here, and another at the end of the kingdom, 1000 years later for the unbelievers. Christians call the first resurrection "The rapture of the Saints" (those who believe in Jesus). Those believers who are still alive, at the time right before his return, will be removed from the earth and brought up to meet Jesus in the clouds to be with him forever. All those in the past who have died, and believe in Jesus, will also be taken up from their sleep of death in their graves at that time. These will be given immortal bodies that are able to live forever. They will then be in Heaven. No one knows the day or the hour of this rapture, or removal. The second resurrection is for unbelievers and they will be awakened from their sleep of death and stand before God for their judgment. Since they didn't have an advocate or someone to take their punishment for their sins like the believers did (Jesus died for anyone who would believe in Him) then they will face the original Death sentence put on mankind for their sins. They will not be raised immortal like the believers. They will be raised up mortal, like they were before they died. They will be cast into the fire, be destroyed, die and perish forever. So, since everyone who has died in the past is still resting in peace in their graves, asleep, they can not see you or talk to you from Heaven.

That indicates that the dead know the living because abraham died way before moses. Also in sheol they couldn't escape, so that means the saints know perfect knowledge without having to see it personally!!! SO THEY DO KNOW BUT THEY DON'T WATCH OVER US AND THEY ARE NOT ANGELS.

2 Has in these last days spoken to us through His Son, Whom He has appointed heir of all things, for Whom He also made the world.
3 Who, being the reflection of the perfection of Father YAHweh, and the representation of Father YAHweh's PLAN, by upholding all things concerning, that which was spoken by, Father YAHweh through the Prophets, when YAHshua had purged sins, sat down on the right hand of Father YAHweh on high,
4 Becoming so much better than the malakim, He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent Name than they. ( That NAME is YAHwehShua.)
    The Firstborn From The Dead,
5 For example, to which of the malakim did Father YAHweh ever say:
You are My Son, I, today, I have become your Father? And again:
I Myself shall become His Father, and He Himself will become My Son?
6 But when He again brings His firstborn ( Romans 1:4 ) into the inhabited world, He says: Let all the malakim of YAHweh worship Him.
7 Now of the malakim He says: Who makes His malakim spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire.
8 But to the Son He says: The throne of Your Father YAHweh is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated iniquity; therefore YAHweh Your Father has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions; fellow heirs.
10 And You, Father YAHweh, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
12 Yes, all of them will wear out like a garment. Like clothing You will change them, and they pass away. But You remain the same, and Your years will have no end.
13 But to which of the malakim has Father YAHweh ever said: Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies Your footstool?
14 Are the malakim not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for those who will be heirs of salvation?
Revelation 3:12-13 He who overcomes, I will make a pillar in the temple of My Father YAHweh, and he will never go out of it. And I will write upon him the Name of My Father YAHweh, and the Name of the New Yerusalem which comes down out of heaven from My Father YAHweh , and I will write on him My New Name.
13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit of Father YAHweh says to the called out ones.
Romans 1: 1 Shaul, a servant of YAHwehshua Messiah, called an apostle, set apart to preach the message of Father YAHweh
2 Which Father YAHweh had promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures:
3 Concerning His Son, YAHwehShua Messiah our King, Who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,
4 And declared to be the Son of Father YAHweh with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead; Praise Father YAHweh

This is a moot point since there is no one in Heaven yet. The Bible is clear: “The dead know nothing”. The dead are resting in the grave until the second coming. There is no verse that says anyone is in Heaven looking down on us.

If we as believers go to heaven but leave unbelieving family or friends behind, can we still pray for them when in heaven?

If We as christians rise up to heaven only during the second coming of Christ, then what happens to our souls immediately after we die? Is there like a waiting place that we go to? Or are we in the tomb until God calls us?

2 Thessalonians 2:15 hold to the traditions Etc. the early Christians venerated the Blessed Mother. There's pictures of her in the catacombs mother and child. might be wise to be slow to criticize Catholics in their veneration of Gods proven friends. It was actually the Catholics that preserved our Bible all through the early centuries. Christ could have easily appeared on the scene without a mother but he chose to come through her. It was through her intercession that he performed his first public miracle. there are some Catholic writers who have said that those who do not have Mary for their mother will not have God for their father. You never know Catholics may have it better as far as the blessed mother is concerned, than the rest of us do. May the God of Heaven lead us all through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen

So reading most of comments I understand we die "sleep" til resurrection bones turn to dust as our spirit goes back to God. So when we die we no nothing until we are ressurected. Then we are awake or alive again? And how many levels of heaven and hell are there??

There’s no love ones or saints looking down on you checking up on you and see how you doing. Just like you had no consciousness before you were born it’s the same when you are dead. If you have the Spirit of God in you then you will know and understand.
