Agreed! He worked the bike well. What a professional. No denying Jeff Ward; wish we could all age slower. He’s STILL really good✅💪he’s got the speed still.
One of my childhood heroes, I am 52 years old now… Jeff Ward, Ricky Johnson, Ron Lechine, Bailey… These guys were top-notch… Absolute top-notch the best ever! Thank you for all the years of wonderful competition and entertainment! I absolutely loved watching this video!

Wow! Watching this legend gave me the same goosebumps I got watching him 40 years ago at the Highpoint National. You can feel his love for dirtbikes lives on. Thank for this.
I sure hope the younger crowd goes back and check this guy out! he was one of the best in his day. it means a lot to see this. Being almost fifty, Wardy was my guy so thanks again and it is still important to show the younger generations what and who built this sport!
My buddy and I each bought brand new 84’KX-125’s and had a blast with them! I moved to a KX-250 in 89’ .Wish I still had both of those bikes today!!! Thanks Wardy for the decades of memories!
I remember Jeff Ward in a publication called the Weekly Reader back in 72' . He was racing a Honda XR 75 at the time . I was riding Honda Mini Trails and was working 2 paper routes saving for a bigger bike . Jeff inspired me to race motocross and I did a few years later . I worked my butt off and got a brand new Suzuki RM 250 . Thanks Jeff those were the best years of my single life . PK
I got to see him race at Lake Sugar tree in Axton Virginia back when they ran the 125 and 500 Nationals together.Saw David Bailey there after his injury.Guy Cooper won the 125 class and I think Wardy won the 500 class that day?
One of my favourite riders from back in the day. So talented and part of the sound for me on this video is the way Wardy just rides the wheels off everything. It was simply wonderful to watch this.
In 1990 as a spectator at Red Bud, hanging over the fence in one of the corners, Wardy came through and roosted me big time on his KX. It was a proud moment for me! This was a cool video!
Thank you to all involved in making this video possible: camera people, land owner, creative minds for dreaming it up, and Wardy himself. The open face👊, seeing you ride was amazing.
Awesome job putting this production together ! Beautiful bike and the great Jeff Ward giving his input and showing his unbelievable skills. Wardy was my favorite pro back then, as I rode a Kawasaki in the New England Connecticut area. I love looking at old vhs videos and old pictures of my 1979 KX250, 1984 KX500 and 1985 KX500 MX bikes. I have pictures of my KX 500 bikes brand new rolling out of Midtown Kawasaki in Rocky Hill Connecticut and the Cromwell sand pits. I stopped riding MX in 1987 and came back in 1999. I’m sure you all had your MX breaks for careers and injuries as did. I jumped ship from Kawasaki to the McGrath inspired Yamaha YZ250 and eventually made the switch to the thumpers on a Honda CRF 450R. I now ride a Suzuki on the street and stopped riding MX. I’ll never forget Wardy and those KX bikes, I lived for that stuff in the 80’s. That stuff forged me into the person I’ve become and made me one tough and determined individual. Thank you for putting that on UA-cam.
So great to see one of my heros from back in the day back on a 2 stroke! If only Johnny O would have rode in out of nowhere and started a little race action...

You were always one of my favorite riders Jeff I rode a Kawasaki because of you and always use your number and still do, you're a true living legend !!!
Same here! Because of Jeff Ward and Ron Lechien I switched from CR to KX in the later 80's and rode and raced KX250 and KX500 with the #4 Number plate, which was great because 4 is my favorite number 💚🤘

What flashbacks from that gear! He was the little kid riding a minibike wheelie in "On Any Sunday"!!! My inspiration. My first few Washougal Nattys were when they ran 125's and 500's. Seeing Wardy on his KX500 kicking one-footers off the first jump at the bottom of Horsepower Hill, Dogger came blitzing through those huge 90's finish line "whoops" on his KX500's rear tire! The ground shook! Privateer Guy Cooper still shredding and showing off on his RM125 after busting his perch, those moments are unforgettable. My first year there was Hannah's last.
Met him back in 85 at Mosier Valley....he was out at the track getting in some practice before the Supercross. I was at a Gary Bailey MX class that day..Ward took a few minutes to say hello to us all, allowed people to get close to his works 250. His mechanic answered a lot of questions for us. Took pictures with people as well. Super nice guy.
Wow! Just wow! That year (1984) the 125 nationals was my all time favorite battle rivaled only by the 76’ Hannah/Smith 125 battle. But Wardy was my hero! My family opened a Kawasaki franchise in 1985 in Oregon and Jeff Ward was who I wanted to be from then on!!!!
