He talks to Jason about the sound of the latest album, and where a lot of the inspiration came from. Davey and Jason bond over some of their favourite bands.

Dude seems like such a genuine and humble guy, you can tell he actually loves being able to talk about his work with people, and he always has respect for the interviewers.

@@salsalsalsalsalsal3094 I never knew he had a problem with it. I've heard him talk ill about miss murder before (and it's funny how similar his opinion on that song is to Calebs from Kings of Leon feels about Sex on Fire). Personally, I love summer shudder, as I assume most of their fan base does.
@@Y0PPS I think you're right! It's funny to me too because Jade did a guitar video for Gibson recently, about some of his favourite riffs, and he busted out Summer Shudder and explained why he likes it, and then on the other hand there's Davey like "ugh" ahahaha

Davey actually made me laugh with the Summer Shudder comment. I love that song! I'm pretty sure Jade played that in his Riff Lords video for Gibson the other day. It's pretty funny to hear the two different takes on that song. I'm happy they are willing to compromise or else maybe that song never happened.

@@jasminerosa2814 I saw on one of the Backspin videos on their career they did 4 years ago that Davey wanted A View from Here, a song released as a b-side anyway.

As someone who has been a fan of AFI since like '02 (unfortunately not 30 years) Bodies is absolutely godly it is every thing i love about AFI in every song. Every single song is everything I want. That being said i have this horrible sinking feeling that its the last one :c

What exactly is this horrible sinking feeling based off of? Did Davey or any of the other band members say something that might’ve suggested that?
I actually didn't like the new album bodies, until I heard it live tonight. Now I love it. One of the few bands that actually sounds better live than they do in studio. Hunter was totally killing it. They all were.
The first song that got me into AFI was Trash Bat. I loved Miss Murder too. I would consider myself just partly passive listener. I discovered the band like a year ago I think. The new album isn't my cup of tea, but it's been growing on me... I'm starting to enjoy most of it. I'm very picky with music, and I thank the whole band for creating beautiful music.
Totally go back to their first album and work your way up its a journey. Welcome 🦇
Sing the sorrow is their best. December underground and black sails are amazing too

Trash Bat is definitely a stand out track! It’s the only song I actually like on the Missing Man EP. (Get Dark was just okay)

I enjoy the new bodies album just wish the songs where I bit longer, to me it felt like from start to finish like a 25 minute album even though it's 36 minutes, love the album just hope that there might be some bonus tracks later on and make a deluxe bodies album

*GASP* Davey! Summer Shudder is so good. We all shun Crash Love I think we should all agree its... lack of luster... but Summer Shudder and Decemberunderground is Delish.
I love AFI's music but I feel like I would get really annoyed if I sat and talked to Davey about what AFI songs are great or not and other music lol, I don't read enough books I guess.

Even before the dress or the mullet, the dude has always been completely weird. Even when i first got to them in 96, he was a total weirdo... This wasn't fully unpredictable, now the direction of the music?.... As an old school guy, horribly unpredictable. Last album i even gave a chance was art of drowning, in my opinion, that was the beginning of the end. After that they became unlistenable for me. Not trying to offend, we all have different taste. Glad things worked out for em, just not my cup o tea these days, i can still rock the old albums but it's become a guilty pleasure.
