Not only does Tori sound like Karen, but Tori also impliments the multi track layering that Richard Carpenter used to make the iconic Carpenter sound.

Shawn and Mel, love Yall's reaction. A few weeks back I heard this rendition from Tori Holub for the first time. It immediately shocked me, and then made my eyes water up. So very few folks in the world sound like this. Beautiful. The looks on your faces just blessed me. Cause you both [like so many folks] felt this, what I would describe, a refreshing joy in this moment, this treasure. Peace folks, I enjoy your reactions regularly.
Guys! What you DON'T know is that Tori put together myriad covers of Carpenters songs in her home studio. She actually sang all the parts and overdubbed them. She actually has a demonstration of how she did this in a video in which she plays back various parts of the harmonies one at a time, then plays them all at the same time. She does this on a multitrack deck and also uses a highly advanced program called a sequencer to put the parts directly into a computer.
If that isn't enough, she also has covers of Olivia Newton-John, among other artists. As you know, Olivia wasn't a contralto like Karen, so Tori covering Olivia demonstrated the broadness of her vocal range. But not just that she could get into soprano territory, Tori effects a lighter, airier sound like Olivia's. She also has done a few songs of her own. Her vibrato adds to the quality of her covers because she can hold a note without the vibrato waivering. She's nothing short of phenomenal.

To call this a cover is a disservice to Tori and her collaborators. This is a beautiful reincarnation and tribute to the Carpenters, that I have never seen emulated since the Carpenters were on the scene. Thanks for a nice reaction!

This is absolutely unbelievable. Karen Carpenter is, was and will always be my favorite. I was literally crushed when she passed at such a young age and never thought there would ever be another voice that could come anywhere close to matching Karen's angelic sound. Karen Carpenter has been reincarnated in this amazing young lady!!

An update. For the last 4 days I’ve been attending the Carpenters 55th Anniversary Celebration. Tori and her dad were there for the whole run. On the last night dinner and conversation with Chris May. Well, things changed rapidly when Chris was introduced as “The Authors of “Carpenters: The Musical Legacy” (Mike the 3rd author was sick and video apologized for not coming) Out from behind a wall in the ballroom came Chris May and RICHARD CARPENTER!!!!!!!!!!!!! The crowd as you may imagine, 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 He was not scheduled to be there. He was interviewed and chatted with Chris for about 90 minutes or so. Then when it all officially ended, RC hung around (Mary too) signing albums chatting. Then! Tori was hustled behind the wall and to the adjoining room. Then RC went back there and met with the people in that room, including Tori. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 It’s official! I didn’t eyewitness the meeting. But it happened and she was on cloud 9 for a good bit afterwards. ❤

Thank you Shawn and Mel!! I didn’t realize it’d be this fast. I notified the crew. This was kinda the reaction I expected. If you don’t know about Tori, she has that effect on people. Next week is a huge week for her. She will be performing a couple of songs on “Acoustic Night” as part of the Carpenters 55th Anniversary Celebration, in Downey (L.A.) CA. I’m going. It’s a 4 day shindig! Woot! There’s another song that’s close to dropping. Maybe someone can help. LOL. With Miss Kacie’s picture over your head Mel, I really wanted this for you. When you had that special video a few weeks ago. I left a long comment about our issues all 3 of us, you me and Karen have and had. If you go back you’ll see it. Now you know me. I wish you strength and joy and more Tori and of course all the Karen you can listen to. Oh, Tori is full of the music of the 60-80’s. So many short covers and a few full length like this one. She does songs by, Olivia, Joni, ❤, The Beatles, Bread and so many more. She doesn’t sound like them all (ON-J!) but her voice is perfect and sounds like them to an extent. Never just a copy, more of an homage. Her full length audio of Merry Christmas, Darling will 🤯. She was 19 when she did that one. I’m so glad you enjoyed this song of discovery. James did an amazing job of orchestrating/editing and playing some instruments on it and doing the male harmonies. He’s a genius. Thanks again!

Anne Murray was the closest Ive heard to Karen before now. Truly remarkable talent. This young lady could easily cover Anne's songs as well.
She has! And Olivia, Joni, The Beatles, Bread, ❤ Both sisters, Patsy, and so many more.

I've heard some people doubt that this was actually her or whether they played games with the vocals. But a few days ago, she posted a video of her performing Yesterday Once More live in a club. She said it was her first real live performance ever. It's all Tori.
And she’s on her way to HOLLYWOOD! Actually, Downey. Close enough. I can’t wait, seeing her on Thursday.

Because she isn’t Karen. That’s her voice and it’s damn close. She’s NOT mimicking KC, when she sang at the church, audible gasps my iPhone didn’t pick up. Gave me chills. My video is on UA-cam search Tori’s name and sort by recent. It’s right there.

If sge can play drums like Karen or sing while playing them, I'll then say she's Karen. Flattering to imitate but original Karen can't be beat. Glad she was blessed with a voice and is giving new listeners a view into Karen and Richard though.

They’ve done a lot! Make a request when you check the list. Tori has a magical voice and it’s natural. She can sing the songs Karen can’t. She’s already done so many but as shorts. She’s covered Something In Your Eyes, as it should have been. There was something in my eyes after hearing that. It was only too damn short. Maybe Jim will make a full version of it, I’ve asked him.
As a carpenter fan from the 70's, she is good but doesn't have the contralto nor the emotion Karen put in her songs. Also have to remember how equipment has changed.
If you listen to the original from Karen they are the same. Do not be deceived.

He knows, Tori was interviewed about a week ago.
The main reason is because it’s her own voice. Last Saturday Richard met Tori in person for the first time. See the video I posted, search Tori’s name and sort by date, the photo is on the thumbnail.
Ya'll have said the 50's, 60's and 70's had all the great singers, and they're no longer any great singers today. I believe there are just as many great singers today, it's just that the massive corporations that have taken over the music industry no longer promote them; the same with great songwriting and song production. Tori's a throwback and I believe Mel is a throwback, but the music industry isn't interested in putting out beautiful music with great singers. BTW, I would like to hear Mel sing a full sung acapella, or karaoke, in a video. I bet she's good, based on her voice singing her name.
