- Nice idea for a boss. Extremely weird executing. Its bad enough you can only move with quick step, he attacks like a beast. Plenty of glitches in this fight as well. I wont get into anymore details but the dynamics of the boss are weird to say the least.

mikekay3 This isn't Prototype 2, since they _actually_ travel back in time. The Prototype 2 is in Sonic Forces since there's no time travel in that game.
At 1:32 he actually learned something. He actually dodged Sonic for a second. Nice.

just because Eggman is a terrible pilot doesn't mean the egg dragoon is not badass.
The egg Dragoon is near perfect in its design, there's only one critical flaw with its design: who the intended pilot is
@@greenhat8978 agreed. In Sonic Unleashed, the Egg Dragoon was doing fine 'til he controlled it.

Man, I remember this boss from Sonic Unleashed! Nice to fight the Egg Dragoon as regular Sonic for a change!

I know it's just me, but I find Omochao to be just a little bit more tolerable in this game than any others.
I dunno, I just find his voice… strangely adorable
He's not annoying at all in any of the games he's in. Just like Navi isn't annoying.

You know, Omachao is actually voiced by the gal who voices Blaze.
Just thought that was neat.
It's because he sounds more enthusiastic, like he genuinely wants to help and isn't trying to be annoying

Hysterical Trend I actually very much enjoyed the werehog stages
First, it was "Get a load of this!"
Then, it was "You know what they say! The more the merrier!"
After that came "You little...! You little...!"

Eggman is a sucker for repeating catchy lines.
Oh my lord...Eggman was definitely not playing this time around. He makes you wall jump on an enclosing wall with icicle spears falling simultaneously. Like CHILL BRUH!
Well, he was blasting you with falling ice blasts. I say he chilled enough. XD

I really prefer defeating him in the running section rather than the skydiving section. It's so funny to see the egg dragoon freak out and roll like crazy :D
The transition from 2D to 3D is the glitchiest part.
Sometimes the target appears over him, yet you can't actually attack for some reason.
*Drill falls next to sonic nearly taking him out*

For me this is one of the best boss fights in Sonic history. Its be a while since a boss in a Sonic game is challenging and have a nice build up on it.
But for most people, Challenging = Bad. So....
This was definitely one of Eggman's more successful creations.

You know that Omochao can be disabled, right? When I played SA2 I would always throw him at enemies or to bottomless pits. God, he's so annoying!
I'd pistol whip the tire at him or chuck him at a wall. 😂
When I see time eater, I say "wow that boss is pretty disappointing after seeing how epic the egg dragoon was" I SAY THAT EGG DRAGOON SHOULDVE BEEN THE FINAL BOSS!!! Although that would take away the plot of the game lol

This should've been the final boss. I found that this boss was much more difficult for me and my little sis. We both spent 30 minutes AT LEAST trying to beat it. Time Eater was a joke. Beat it in 2 and a half minutes, and got an S rank.
I thought I was the only one, but there are two more players who think this boss should have been the final boss! Time Eater was frustrating :/

Egg Dragoon on main stage I can beat. Egg Dragoon on hard mode I can’t I tried. They put spikes to avoid when you get to the high ground.
Bro I know this vid came out like 4 years ago or something, but lookin at how this mech has changed over the years from weird, to blue and cooler, to red and Abosolute piece of awesomeness
yeah I'm pretty sure this is prototype 2 it's bigger, stronger, and faster as well a couple add ups to it.
I like to imagine this is the same machine from Sonic Unleashed.
This was the real thing that Sonic was suppose to fight, but because of the Werehog, Eggman had to hastily redesign it to withstand a werehog, not a hedgehog; thus downgrading it to a prototype. In Generations timeline, Sonic never transforms into the werehog, and so the Egg Dragoon maintains it's true design, which also explains why it's harder to fight.
Small Teddy The only reason I have to disagree with this is cause Eggman himself calls the Unleashed version the original prototype-1, meaning that this version couldn't be the original design, this is the version made after his failed attempt with the first one, which he would of course make stronger. It had nothing to do with Sonic Werehog form as he already knew about the form and most likely made the Unleashed Egg Dragoon to counter it

I tried to beat all the bosses on hard to unlock the Dr.Eggman avatar costume, all the rest of the bosses weren't that bad but Egg Dragoon is a bloody nightmare. You have to hit him so many times and you don't get any checkpoints.
After so many tries I got to the free falling bit, died straight away and had to start all over again >
this makes me want to get the game so badly. i don't care what people say about it, i like it.

This Boss fight gave me so many headaches (specially on hard mode). I'm glad it's over.

you have to disable omochao in the settings menu to keep it from appearing.

Even in Hard Mode,Egg Dragoon is a bit harder in Sonic Generations than in Sonic Unleashed.
do you get anything from beating the rivals and bosses on hard mode, because my brother did it and he didn't get anything .
Best sonic fight in forever. I hate to shit on sega but Lost World is nothing compared to this game...NOTHING!

How do you stay on the rails after jumping over the spikes? Every time I try to Sonic falls back to the ground.

@AdemirZX I've played Unleashed, that has nothing to do with day time mechanics and what I think of it. I'm talking personally about the mechanics of the boss, if you've faced this boss as Much as I have, you'd understand what I mean. The glitches pretty much got on my nerves

@bloodyinkpen I think you're not supposed to be pushing a direction. It's automated so pushing a direction un-automates the rails.

Fighting the Dragoon in Unleashed was easy because you had the Werehog,
But I Think using Modern Sonic was a nice change in pace.
I've never had glitch problems with this game, and I play this on the 360. Don't home into the walls, that's all.
Honestly this looks a lot easier than it is, that freefall part always screws me up because it seems like no matter whether I'm speeding up or not, 2 missles always find their way to me, no matter how I try and dodge them.

i am both a sonic fan and a fan of fighting games and well the first layout for this boss in unleashed was pretty damn awesome (in my opinion at least. dunno about anyone else though). i personally like the first lay out (x-box version) a little more than this but i do like the attacks given to this new version ^^

if the customizable skills were put in these boss modes/challenges, things wouldve been a lot more easier XD least you get avi parts.

Actually, that it's not a bug, sonic can do wall jump from a bit further from the wall, it doesn't work if you're stick on the wall.
