I just started filming my next DVD, Trout Streams of Michigan Upper Peninsula. Things have been going we as I started off by catching this good sized brown trout from the Brule River along the Wisconsin Michigan border.

What a treat. The border Brule (or Menominee Brule) was the first stream I ever floated with my Father and my Brother. After that first family canoe trip, my family paddled a number of streams, and I eventually worked a couple of seasons as a canoe tripper. Fond memories. Thank you for the enjoyable video, Sir!
Always enjoy your videos, have been around the Brule a few times in the winter cross country skiing. Have friends who've fished it.
Curious as to your personal bests. In all or state by state would be interesting.
I got a 21" brown from Montana, 18" cutthroat from CO, and a 18" brook from NC. That all happened after this big brown from the Brule, and it's all on video.
LOVE THAT RIVER.. WHAT DID YOU GET HIM TO EAT?
The big brown took a #12 olive soft hackle, one of my favorite flies.
Great video and nice fish! Love the Brule!
Were you on the upper or lower?
I was on the upper portion.
CoppersmithStudios1 very cool. I floated the upper a couple times last year, and got quite a few small brookies. I didn't know that there was public access to wade fish in the upper portion. Where is the access if you don't mind me asking. Thanks. Tight lines!
Stay tuned for my upcoming DVD Trout Streams of MI UP. All of those details will be provided there.
Looks like your near Carney dam
