AU: Steven is living his usual mundane life; the only thing that bothers him is his dream-reality (every nights he observes a very similar looking guy in a funny suit doing crazy stuff there). he begins to crave every dream like it's a new episode of his fave series till the line between dream and reality blurs and he misses it more than real life
meanwhile Marc, the guy in the suit from his dreams, is serving Khonshu and tries to guard Steven and watch over him in the real world without being discovered
in the end, Steven finds a way to connect them despite Marc's attempts to keep him out of it all
