Kozuki Toki was born during the void century and had a devil fruit. Devil fruits predate Joyboy's disappearance/death. But I do think that Joyboy's loss is what resulted in the creation of the Gomu Gomu no Mi. Like his soul literally became the fruit.

All places where there’s no WG control (besides big mom, and she wanted his head fs). Additionally, we don’t know exactly how long they’ve known, but the WG hasn’t had possession of it in 800 years and they add that the fruit probably possesses a will of its own to evade them.

It's not Nika Nika no mi. No mi's are paramecia, and Nika is definitely not. It's the Nika fruit. Not the Nika Nika no mi, if it were the Nika Nika no mi, luffy(joyboy) would be able to control and command Nika instead of transforming into him.

Based on Anime and manga, my theory was that the Ponegliff from fishman island was joyboy's apology to the past Queen of fishman island, because they promised to relocate all fishman to the surface world using the Noah ship (Giant Ship pulled by sea kings using Poseidon's/queen's power) but something happend to Joyboy before this so he is apologizing to the past queen due to not fulfilling the promise
The giant robot now on the egghead island must have tried to fulfill Joyboy's last wish but something stopped him from doing so, then the last thing he does was to try and get revenge on celestial dragons before losing power on marijoa. Then when gear 5 luffy powers him again his first words were apology to joyboy.
I think this is somehow related because the year that Giant robot attacked marijoa was the same year that the fishman island joined the world government. So something must have happend on fishman island to make them ally with world government (betrayal or something like a threat that the giant robot can't forgive/do anything about it; as he is a friend of joyboy and enemy of 20kingdoms/WG)

Honestly I think that betrayal played a part in it but I believe that the betrayal happened after he used Gear 5 to it's absolute max time and power then reverted into the exhausted old man just like what happened to Luffy during the Kaido fight and after the short lived fight with a Mister Rob Lucci on Egghead.

I heard that you can control the effects of your devil fruit powers if they come in contact with a different person but the power didn’t come from your devil fruit (only if awakened) so I think Imu is using the mizu mizu no mi (water fruit) to make it so that if a devil fruit user comes in contact with water they loose their abilities

He was betrayed by someone, and things just went down from there He's allies began to die and get locked up, and all they could do was apologize for not accomplishing their goals together or dying before him

Oda has hinted many times and luffy himself never called himself Joyboy, he differentiate himself by saying that Joyboy guy , while others relate him to joyboy. The World in which luffy and JoyBoy lived are vastly different. Luffy lived his life in poverty and you have not forgotten junkyard in his hometown, where three brothers tried to gather some money by fighting Bandits for venturing into sea as their dream. Luffy is a grounded man, risen from dirt. The people he searched as comrades, have deep scars of tragic history and nightmares and they find consolation with each others. People who looked liked betrayed luffy in his journey e.g Nami, Sanji, Ussop....they were nothing, they had no grand dreams. I think that joyboy had the same dream as luffy but in his crew imu betreyed him and froze him to death because imu wanted to become the king of the world and not let anyone know who joyboy is and all about him so thats why imu also killed who anyone who spoke of it.

A king is praised by his people yet Luffy never wanted that, look at Wano. Luffy never wanted the people to know that he liberated them from Kaido’s tyranny, and even thinking about the prospect of king they have so many commitments (look at momo) but Luffy just wants to be free. I think gorosai and imu was joyboys crews.
You see because joyboy had a god like powers, like that imu and gorosai has also god like powers. And they were against the 20 nations. But due to greed imu decides to betray joyboy and gorosai joined imu and they won against joyboy and freezed him and the giant robot might have killed him to reincarnated into the fruit. Giant robot and zunesha might have felt unworthy of living becuase they can ssve their captain and decided to sleep until luffy's fruit awakened. And imu and gorosai might have manupilated the 20 nations makiing them believe that joyboy and their crew is dead, so the 20 nations put their sword in the throne room (peace treaty).

Roger illness is unknown but strongly related with over usage of conquer Haki. Luffy lifespan was shorted by Ivan job revival, and his over use of his gears. So it’s completely different
