Expand and Expand Appearance in Adobe Illustrator

Expand, Expand Appearance or Outline Stroke in Adobe Illustrator? What does it all mean? Which one do you use and why? Sometimes you see Expand, sometimes you see the Expand Appearance… now you will know which one does what and the reasons why.

Thanks for the information! I have a question, is it necessary to always expand/ outline stroke to a design made for printing? For example for Red Bubble, Spreadshirt web sites, they print the designs in cloth and other stuff.

Really amazing video at the end i just make conclusion that expand appearence option come when we have to change the appearce but please have a look below image link when we use ''Align Stroke'' option and see that stroke in ''Outline'' mode it's appearance come same as it is appearing then why ''Expand appearence'' option come?
