Put the filter wool in another container with aquarium water and just shake them out. You can also leave the filter wool in a separate container, use a small amount of food as bait to coax them out, then remove the filter wool and strain the worms out through a net.

They will increase their number each day, tbh. They multiply fast if there is enough food. If you're feeding a lot of fish, then you have to make a bigger breeding area for them to thrive. So feed them cheap fish food or trash food, and collect a protein rich quality food for your fish. It's a winner.
