Hi Madam, when i add yeast to culture for 2 to 3 days... A white layer is forming on top and later the culture is crashing due to lack of oxygen. How to overcome this?

No, that will not work out. You have to use it within an hour

I am watching lots of Moina videos to help me understand why my Moina suddenly stopped reproducing. After watching your video and reading your comments I have 2 possible solutions:
1) I haven't fed yeast this year at all.
2) I have moved the cultures by the window where they get more sunlight.
In the comments you said no to sunlight. Do you think this can be causing problems even if the water temperature is normal? I'm going to try moving them back to where I had them last year and add some yeast. I'm also going to try to do the fermented yeast to see if that helps.
Any other ideas of what I might have overlooked? What's interesting is I do everything the same for my Moina and Daphnia and the Daphnia are doing GREAT! Same lighting and same food (spirulina or live green water, also some wheat germ).
And don’t over feed , if you add more yeast culture ll crash, fist 2, 3 days add very less yeast slowly increase the yeast amount
@@kukkuspets Thanks, so far I haven't seen any of them gain color from being moved away from the window. It's only been 5-6 days. What's strange is they aren't crashing generally - just not reproducing much and they don't color up as much (they're very white/clear).
Another thing I'm considering is making a mixed culture of daphnia and moina to see if the daphnia help with filtering particles that are too big for the moina. My Daphnia are D.Magna so pretty big.
You know I felt the water a few days ago when the sun was on the remaining jars and the water was actually a bit warm. Maybe that has something to do with it too.
We will see in the next few days hopefully.

mix more to ferment more & good , give small breaks and mix 2, 3 times also good

1. Footage at 5:15, after you have filtered the fermented yeast, did u add water to the container? Because the container was full. What kind of water did you add?

You should try culturing bloodworms. Its easy. Also when your culture is 2 weeks old moina will start developing in it.

Always more water is good, better do it in little big tub, you have to feed the yeast according to the Moina count, Dnt over feed, when Moina increase you can increase yeast as well,

Would i start them in a big container or better to do a small one, and how do you figure out the right amount of yeast/water to feed them when they are in a smaller container/jar. When it mixed and no granules visible fees 1ml for fresh culture and increase 1ml every week

Yes you can, if possible make on 2, 3 buckets , so that you will get daily enough Moina to feed
How many days will moina last which you collected in that glass at 12.20? And I have a batch of cichlid fry which just 2 days old and I'm looking forward to feed moina rather than artemia. As it's easy to culture for days.
At least 3 days required for Moina to multiply, I usually take after 4th day
It won't survive if packed and no oxygen more than 8-12 hours
For Chichlids fry use micro worms or grindal worms best feed
I used it for 2years when i was keeping Chichlids or tetra
Now I'm at betta so looking for moena source

It is not required to restart the culture after the harvest, you can continue same culture as long as you can maintain the water quality, only things don’t over feed

They won't magically appear but it's possible you could ask around some aquarium enthusiasts near you or even look online to see if someone will ship some to you?
