Never knew that blood worms looks like this when I was only 8 years old in our garden there was a bucket of water and the water was in the bucket for like months and one day I went to check the bucket and I see worms and I thought I created a new type of species lol

gREAT VID THANK YOU. I already have been accidentally breeding the bloodworms ...in small open tubs / comtainers in my small garden. They just seem to appear. ALso I think some eggs have hatched indoors from smaller containers I have been gathering mosquito larvae in also. The betta fish and others love the mosquito larvae too . I have been chasing various sized blood worms in my small pots indoors , trying to catch them by disturbing their shelters...didn't realize the tubes at the sides were built be them, i thought they just buried themselves in the dirt and litter at the bottom. So your video has helped me save a lot of time haha.... and also now I know how to wash and separate them from the dirst and sludge . I have found a few VERY LARGE... 5 cm or more... similar red stripey worms living in the same containers, and a few have crawled out from the indoor containers overnight. Do you know if they are just older mature bloodworms of same species or are they different to the small ones... like the ones in your video ? Thank you to anyone who replies with info . I am puzzled by this and google is even more confusing trying to identify them . Thanks for your great vid from a novice fish keeper and worm breeder ib Australia. :))

I have heard different bugs like different stuff in their water. For example where I am some mosquito larvae seem to like dandelion water while a different type (looks different from the other container) seems to like algae water. And the clear water next to the other two holds swimming bug(s). So based on my area the stuff in the water seems to make a difference.

hmm those are probably way too big to eat for fish under 3 cm. a pity. i'd culture daphnia , but my fish weren't too interested in those when frozen either.
