maybe just me, but they both looked EXACTLY like a pizza hut deep dish
Aka a pan pizza.
This review will actually kill this pizzeria.
@@tomthalon8956 naw, locally Angelo's gets tons of business. They're better known for the toppings and specialty pizzas.
@@tomthalon8956 one person can shut down a whole pizza spot lol, 90% of people who enter that store don’t even know about Dave’s pizza review
@Umnumzaan to be fair, this review is right, as a cheese pizza, Angelo's is a pretty crap pizza haha
They're not going to hurt for business from this at all though. They're not a small operation in some back ally that would rely on an outsiders review. I'd doubt their business goes down a single percent from this.
Time to start giving real scores again.
They haven’t done that in years here
His credibility is trashed. Who is making his re boxed pizzas?
This pizza is maybe 5.3 max
Seriously
When did he start?
Owners or workers who stay outside for the review ruin the review, let him review then come out afterwards
Super annoying tbh, guy standing there staring at him like he's trying to intimidate pres into giving him a higher score, personally places like this I'd never go to because if they have to stare at him you know it's gonna be bad pizza.
I found it annoying af
One bite Dave now knows he can ruin people’s lives with his reviews so his scores can’t hold weight anymore. Admirable, but not true scores.
I’d hate to have that kind of power and pressure to ruins someone’s business just because I don’t prefer deep dish pizza
Trust in the 8.1 and above scores
Sad but true
As a Lakewood native, I’ve never heard a bad review of Angelo’s.
Domino’s delivers at the back door, everybody knows the rules.
the pan pizza bangs though
Dead
Does resemble it for sure
"122 and 8?, Where the hell is 122 and 8?" "You're standing on it Dude" 🍕🐢
Bet the nephew was told to go work at Dominos for a couple of summers.
Anytime the cheese looks like that (with the brown spots) he says it's Domino's lol
There's a reason for that
One Angelo's Pizza, everyone knows Dave's done about 13 Angelo's reviews.
Yeah bro, Philly Angelo’s only one that matters. Thanks. Come again losers (Fake Angelo’s).
@@whitecoco1210 there is also a angelos in california but idk if its the same
@@whitecoco1210there’s probably an Angelo’s in every city moron 😂
@@whitecoco1210fuck Philly
Everyone trashing this review but never been. This pizza is actually really good. Been there multiple times.
Recently moved to the city here and absolutely love their wings and Artichoke dip, only complaint and I always forget lol is to tell them don't burn the pita chips!
Angelos pizza is outstanding, crust and all!
The thick is fantastic
This place has one of the best pizzas in cleveland. They have no clue what they are talking about with the baseless hate
@@Ddmarrieewhat’s so great about it, too expensive
Idk wtf y’all are talking about. Angelo’s is some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Tell me a better pizza place is northern Ohio and I’ll check it out. Y’all are nuts. 8.5/10 all day.
il rione is the best in cleveland in my opinion. Love Angelos tho
Lu’s in Grafton. That said, I also like Angelo’s.
Totally agree. Beat pizza I have ever had and almost always a 45 min wait to get in!
Once again proof the scale starts at 6.8 if it's a small business, everyone knows Dave has an image to uphold...
'Proof'
No way did he just give Domino’s a 7.1. If this was 2 years ago that would be a 4.1 max.
I agree that the score definitely would have been lowered than that. But at the same time just judging by the looks is dumb. Doesn't look great but who knows how it tastes
a pizza can look like dominos but the ingredients are possibly better, so the pizza tastes much better. In this channel they focuse too much on thin pizzas, not greasy pizzas, no flop, etc
But their "merch" was fire and the owners were nice people. It's fine, we all know the rules by now. And if you are a real "pizza" person, you can tell just by looking at the pie "what time it is". You nailed it, that pie was a "Dominos" style. Thick, chewy, ooeey-gooey cheese. If it's 1 o'clock on campus and you're blasted it's just what you want.
this pizza wasn't dominos at all, it was a legit Pizza Hut "pan" pizza. which looked delicious to me lmao
@@phylazen5649 Thought the same thing. I remember loving Pizza Hut as a kid and have had a craving for it since they closed them all down in my state a couple years ago.
One free t-shirt, everyone knows that Dave inflated the score of a Domino's slice
Everyone...that hasn't actually eaten Angelo's pizza of course. The pizza tastes nothing like Domino's, I think Domino's is trash. Angelo's is some of the best pizza I've ever had.
That’s embarrassing when they’re standing out there and they make a pizza the exact opposite of what he likes lmaooo
He just happens to like shit on a shingle, not many people do, myself included.
On this trip he made to Cleveland, the pizzas all puzzled him. Mama Santa's he was thrown off by how it was, the pizza in the arena threw him off because it was good quality, and now Angelo's has him puzzled because it's a deep dish that isn't and the regular is as thick as the deep dish. He threw in a bonus strawberry thing, which apparently he's never seen cassata cake before over at Corbos bakery.
Haha come to Cleveland, have yourself a pop, and let us throw you off your rocker a bit.
NE Ohio has its own mixed style of pizza. I've lived in Akron and the Shaker area and have since moved out of state. No other state or place i've visited has pizzas like NE, Ohio. Maybe I'm crazy.
@@softaco3088 Naw, you're not. I have watched a video before all about the different created pizzas across America. I can imagine people in Italy would have their minds blown and hate nearly all of America's pizza as it's almost nearly been taken over as our own. In the video I watched, it showed Ohio as having created 3 different styles of pizza... and still feel like they skipped Cleveland. I couldn't imagine moving away and not seeing the regular kinds of pizza I've grown up with. I can imagine I'd be missing them. While living here, it's just another day in the life kind of attitude towards them. I say though, over the last 15 or so years, there's been a huge boom in pizza around Cleveland and you have all kinds of different style pizza offerings you can think of. Growing up longer than that, that wasn't the case. I can't say that Cleveland style pizzas are the best, but I can respect them for what they are, just your good sold bready slices of pies. They'll fill you up and absorb the alcohol.
@jackoff1826 definitely. Everytime I visit family the very first thing I do is get some great lakes and order a pizza
Blue collar rust belt pizza
The "deep dish" is actually a pan pizza. It's a pizza with corn meal on the bottom cooked in a pan with oil in the bottom, so you get a crispy fried bottom. It's good shit, but definitely not "deep dish" by any stretch of the imagination. Always annoyed me that they call it deep dish. Angelos pizza tends to be thick and heavy with a lot of sauce kinda on the sweet side, lots of stringy cheese (provolone mix) high quality toppings in generous portions, and their crispy pan fried crust. You can almost eat it with a fork and knife, which is probably why they decided to call it "deep dish". It's nothing like Dominos lol. If you wanted to compare it to any chain, it would definitely be Pizza Hut. That's a review.
Nice username
He's an east coast guy. They love to eat that thin crust shit. I dont know how anyone like that. I feel like I'm eating Matzah everytime I have thin crust.
@@syedahmed7130 I think for El Prez its more about the crunchiness rather than about the thinness of the pizza. The thicker pizza's tend to not have has much crunch and tend to be more floppy.
Every time he thinks of a pizza it's going to be Domino's but you're exactly right. It looks like Pizza Hut.
Very descriptive of Angelo's Pizza. Makes me want to try it.
Dave, you got to quit using Domino's as a descriptive pizza. Their pizzas go on a flat screen. Except their medium handmade pan. Which looks nothing like an Angelo's Pizza.
These pizzas definitely look like Pizza Hut pan pizzas.
@@HETFIELD yeah but if you trouble yourself with distinguishing cheese pizzas from those places, then you can sort it out. I have no idea what cheese pizza was from each of those other than maybe crust
That deepdish looks like how Pizza hut used to be before they went to the frozen rubber.
One Domino's looking pizza getting a 7.1, everyone knows Angelo's of Lakewood has Pres on the palm of their hand.
This is shocking to me, Angelo’s is fantastic. I know the pizzas don’t look like anything special in the video… but they’ve got some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Nowhere near Domino’s “quality”. And I prefer thin, crispier pizza as well. But this is the stuff.
Angelos doesnt have a thin crust, so i didnt expect them to do great with Dave. Deep dish supreme is tremendous tho.
This was 100% not his style. If you are a regular of his reviews, you know what he likes and this isn't it. It had none of the qualities he looks for
@@mikerzisu9508 I recently found out he's a POS, so dude can take his pizza and stuff it up his... crust.
Looks like Pizza hut then dominos from the looks of it
Large super deluxe from there
Monday 6PM. Everyone knows the rules.
"Careful, it's hot.
"The pizza?"
No Dave, he's talking about the fucking weather. Of course the pizza.
it's funny because around here Angelo's is known to be one of the best around, that said I'm like Dave and don't like the thicker pizzas. Dave - if you're ever in the Cleveland area again you need to go to Giovanni's Pizza in North Olmsted OH. Order the Thin there, it's legit my favorite pizza I've ever had. The sauce is so good and that under carriage etc all what you like. And no I have no relation to them I just love the pizza, I've been telling them to make it with love every time I order and they deliver on it each time.
That guy in the background is like Military keeping a eye making sure score not to low lok
“Neither of them are thin, they’re just a little bit on the thick side”
Dave thinking about Debbie and her sister
The honk at 2:39 was perfectly timed lol
Stand outside with him cuz we know our pizza is mediocre, everybody knows the rules
😆
guaranteed 6.8 - 7.1 minimum if you’re over dave’s shoulder
Nah Angelo's is great its just too hot out of the oven
That's definitely not a deep dish, that's a pan pizza. Dave had to take that shirt off quick after tasting these.
Angelo's is better for toppings and unique specialty pizzas.
Exactly. It’s a better version of Pizza Hut. And the deep dish has the crunchies at the bottom. Nailed it. Their toppings are fantastic.
It is pan . That's what it's called on the menu. Not "deep". I've ordered from this place hundreds of times.
@@gyme6077 sounds like Dave needs to learn the differences between pizza styles then.
Best deep dish pizza in Cleveland is at Congins btw
This video was recorded before the Tyron Woodley fight so he must have recorded a ton of reviews lol
He does like 5-10 in a day sometimes. Just so that it can spread out when he's too busy to do a review during the week
He recorded two other places in Cleveland before the fight, one being right in the arena. Those were both released that day. This one took a long time to come out...either before he needed to edit that WWF clip in there, or something was up to delay a bad score for a local high rated pizza place.
@@jackoff1826 Actually neither. Both Cleveland reviews posted were to promo the Woodley fight that was happening that weekend, and then after that just went back to chronological order which was the Wildwood reviews filmed before going to Cleveland.
Lived in Lakewood... I had a love-hate relationship with Angelos. Could be so excellent... but they're inconsistent.
That's a "There's two Earl Hebners" reference that I've never thought I'd hear in 2021...
Dave hebners
Looks exactly like Pizza Hut Deep Dish. Even have that plastic stand in the center of the pizza like The Hut
Nah man, it is LEGIT pizza.
Yeah it's round has cheese and comes in a square box that says PIZZA. HAHAHAHA
One bite everybody knows my brother Angelo's pizza would suck.
Dave never says anything about the sauce or the cheese, so his reviews don't really carry much weight with me. Crust is important, but not everything.
lol are you actually watching these for the pizza reviews?
I so so so totally miss Angelos, I lived in Lakewood for over 40 years moved to NC. 5 years ago ,,,,I’m still trying to figure a way to have there pizza sent to me ,,,😥😥🤣🤣
One of the rules should be Dave refuses to do the review if an owner or workers watch him do it.
(3am) When he opened up the "thin" box I laughed so loud my neighbors came over and asked me to keep it down.
Angelo’s pizza has been my #1 for 20 years and I’ve tried more pizza places than Dave lol
Don't get it twisted, people. Angelo's is NOTHING like Domino's. It's actually fire.
One bite everyone knows the "thick one" was Dominos and the "thin one" was Pizza Hut .
Give Dave a portable table that holds boxes and a water bottle. Unbox that!
2:33 "How many of there are these?" - Dave Portnoy
Both pizzas look exactly the same thickness.....everybody knows the restaurant has 2 different prices for the same item
Spider can hold the camera so still he does a good job!! Frankie must approve
You need to try the loaded baked potato pizza from angelos ! 🔥🔥🔥
One swag t-shirt, everybody knows that the owners gave that to Prez only so that he could pronounce their business' name correctly.
I have long said no reviewing should start until the makers and owners are inside the building.
Angelo's pizza is FIRE. I live here, and their pizza is the best in the Cleveland area.
Those two pizzas looked real good!!!
Little Caesars looks real good!!!
They did not. It looks like Domino's and nobody needs that shit.
Deep dish looks like Pizza Hut pan and the thin looks like Papa John's original crust
Nailed it
Bonus points for mentioning the best angle ever in professional wrestling.
Two refs, everybody knows the rules.
You can tell by his face in the thumbnail he hated it lol
This is funny because there's actually a Neopolitan spot called Harlow's like a quarter mile up the street from Angelo's.
Hey Dave you gotta try Napa Wood Fired Pizzeria In Rochester New York One of the Best pie's in upstate NY, right up your ally you would love it!
I'm from Cleveland and Angelo's is a legendary spot.
Pizza Hut everyone know the real score is 4.1
7.1 is very respectable
6.8 makes sense as he's not into the deep dish generally
I'm Cleveland born moved to the west side recently and tried them for the first time about 3 years ago, Angelo's is GOOD STUFF!!!
I HIGHLY recommend
I've realized he's leveled out the playing with not having adds. So he waits 5 mins into the video to take a bite. Everybody knows the rules
One devastated pizza man in the background watching his shit get a 6.8
That's crazy. Prob haven't reviewed as many pizzas as this guy, but we do and have traveled just for pizza reviews. The deep dish at Angelo's is by far the best I've ever had. Now I want to watch this guy's other reviews to see how he grades on one's I've tried too. I don't trust him lol
Portnoy went soft everyone knows how it goes. Love ya regardless
When you have the ability to put someone out of business or explode their business you tread lightly.
@@ryandiedrich6317 bro 125 thousand people have watched this. There are 300 million people in the country. That’s .003% of the population.
@@greyareamedia5524 Then explain why he did a frozen pizza review of a place in ATL and they sold out for 3 months...smartass
There is also a Angelo's pizza in Redlands,CA but idk if its the same
just looking at this makes me want to move back to OH
That pizza looks like the thumbnail in the intro of each video
How yall mad at his score and haven’t tasted the pizza. Angelos is 🔥
Angelo's pizza is beyond amazing, I love it
Angelo's pizza is one of my favorites
Cameo Pizza in Sandusky OH unlike any other you gotta come here !
One "Deep Pizza" everyone knows Dave has not gone "deep" in a girl in years.
He’s never been deep 😂

They have NOT been in that location since 1981. Before that, they were down the street at Bunts for a few years. They were originally on Detroit at Giel going back to at least the 60's.
They have not been in that location since 1981. I graduated high school in 88 and they were still farther down Madison at that time.
@@jefftaylor3639 You're right. I meant to say NOT been at that location since '81. I have corrected it. Thanks.
Dave you gotta go to Rosie’s pizza in Lorain Ohio. Best pizza near Cleveland guaranteed. Gotta get the supreme
Every pizza reminds him of domino's everybody knows the rules
you just showed your age with the double Dave hebner wwe reference!
Two minutes from my house and I've had this pizza for 25 years. Wildly inconsistent, but the only real difference between original and pan style is the breadcrumbs they put in the pan that stuck to the bottom. Pretty much the same otherwise. These days Il Rione is the best pizza in town and it's not even close.
I’m from Cleveland. Love Angelo’s but like he says he’s a thin crust guy so I’d say based on his preference the score is pretty good. I think it’s really great pizza but I have to try Il Rione. I haven’t tried it yet
Criminally underrated is Msp Room Pizza on West 9th downtown
good one Angelo's everyone knows thats Pizza Hut
I have never wanted to fly to another state and try a pizza until this one! That old school pizza hut ! Thick!
I was there last week!! Best Pizza in Lakewood. Should come down to Tarpon Springs, FL Backdrafts Pizza.🍕
Looks like pizza hut
Dominos thin and crispy well done and pie cut is very good. Have you done a review on the thin Dominos?
3:32 Great reference. Great fight.
One hut pizza everybody knows the rules
Honestly I love the intro song so much, sometimes I click just to hear it
Love you Davey boy. Thank you for everything you do for Our America. ♥️🇺🇸♥️🇺🇸♥️🇺🇸
One sausage deep, everybody knows how Dave likes it.
Like the way you described it at the end . If you like thick style but I like thin . Give all places a chance. I like thick
Dave: deeper, thicker, floppy Me: giggity....
You ever come back you gotta try ohio city pie and pizza whirl. Both on w25th
Careful it's hot
The Pizza?
What else do you think is in that box pres?
Tom Hanks favorite pizza place btw
Looks like Pizza Hut
Stop by A Slice Above down in Strongsville sometime. That's a damn good pie.
You should ban the owners from standing by.
He’s not too far off his score. Angelo’s isn’t a great cheese pizza. Their veggie (only place I will ever eat a veggie) is legit
He doesn't care for the deeper dish stuff. Score is based on that mostly. Both pizzas were pretty loaded as well. If I preferred traditional vs idk thin and I was told to review the thin, I would probably rank it lower too
That shit looks like straight up Pizza Hut
Angelos is the best
Not really. Maybe for Cleveland, but thatś not saying much.
looks exactly like pizza hut
If this review was done in 2018, Pres would give that a 5.1 max
cmon bro these looks like legit Dominos / Papa Johns lol
I've had this pizza it actually is a pretty good pie
Their pizzas actually really good and you couldn't pay me to eat pizza hut or domino's. I'm actually disappointed by the score he gave.
He's gone soft on the scores. To be fair it is someone's business and with the Prez following it could ruin the business
@@NamaDoodoo this is one of the more well known spots in cleveland. He might be able to persuade people from out of town to not go there but the locals have already made up their mind.

Ha. Just had Angelo’s tonight. We like to reheat it. The crunch is amazing... their secret is not so secret. CRISCO... TONS of crisco.

Their meat lovers pizza is the GREATEST. Just an ordinary cheese pizza won't cut it for ya....but then again Barstool doesn't care for anyone in general 🤷🏻♂️
