      This guy saved me from losing my dream... I was in my pre med year and I got the full mark on organic chemistry and almost a full mark on physics (due to a typo on the exam paper that they refused to admit)... even though I had to stop studying for 4 years after high school, so at the time of that year I forgot most of high school material...
      It is safe to say that this man had a huge influence on me getting to the college of medicine
      Really, if you are taking physics or organic chemistry course this man is the BEST !
      Hope you succeed in whatever you are working on... good luck

    Sir, I just want to say thank you for the videos you make. I have watched your videos for Gen Chem, Organic Chem, biology, biochemistry, entry and advanced level calculus, general physics, and now emag/optical physics. I have learned more from you than I have from many of my PhD professors in engineering school, and I most certainly would have failed Organic Chem if it weren't for hearing your perspective on the course topics. Keep doing what you do because it helps us students to a level that no amount of college professors could achieve. Again, thank you.

    good evening sir . hope ur doing well . i just wanna show my gratitude towards you for who i am from what i was . ur videos are the only reason why i am rlly good in physics and maths . so there are like some institutions here in my place which train for a very competitive exam called JEE. so some ppl from my class going for those classes used to bully me and others so much with their complex sums knowing that we couldnt solve and lowering our self confidence . i got affected by this alot and i am also JEE aspirant . so i thought of studying those chapters and becoming rlly good at them . now those students come to me for doubts . the tables have turned so much ever since i started watching ur videos and ofc khan academy . i am able to get a good grasp of the concepts . i just wanna thank you so much for what ur doing and many are benefitted because of this cause ur one of the best teachers and a blessing for all of us . hope u read this message . i am pretty sure i am gonna make a hefty donation to you the day i start earning cause ur lessons mean alot . thank you so much sir .

  • @michaele4151
    @michaele4151 Рік тому

    Warning!
    F = R/2 is for mirrors (mirrors use reflection, lenses use refraction, refraction uses Snell's law which is a function of refractive index)
    For lenses, the lens-makers equation can be used to determine the focal length but you must know both radii of curvature (the radii on both surfaces) and the refractive index of the glass
    1/f=(n-1)(1/R1+1/R2+(n-1)*d/(n*R1*R2))
    (but if you are being thorough, you should get the version of the eq which also accounts for the refractive index of the atmosphere around the glass so that you don't get surprised when your underwater telescope doesn't work as expected)
    (i am guessing that the 1's that are in parenthesis with the n's probably could be replaced with the atmospheric refractive index generally assumed to be one in air or space)
