Considering the hundreds of millions of dollars that reps and senators get WHILE IN OFFICE, it should be a volunteer position, not a paid salary. If they're allowed to tamper with the market, they don't need $250k a year or whatever it is.

There are legal options that allow you to pay very little in taxes, provided you are losing money and have good tax benefits like a home office, a work truck, etc. You can write off the entire value of a new SUV the year you buy it. Would that not wipe out most people's tax debt?

At a recent committee meeting where he was a witness, he was asked if he knew why the Fed had raised interest rates, to which he replied, he hadn't studied the issue and didn't know( something that strongly affects nearly every US business and household), certainly impacting his constituents. A high school economics class question, Comer had to inform him.

Washington DC may have longer possible sentencing but the question is how long are the sentences? If Kentucky has a 20 year maximum for certain crimes and 20 years is given and Washington only gives 5 years for the same crime, it doesn't matter what your maximum penalty is.
Law enforcement needs to stop breaking their oath and violating people's civil rights and enforcing unconstitutional law, then people might respect law enforcement.
In Texas you can get tried as an adult as young as 14 or 15. Depends on the crime.
