    Istg the most well matched red wig I've ever seen was Monica Bellucci's red lob in Malena. The colour looked so at home on her & made her skin glow almost

    • @SessaV
      @SessaV 2 місяці тому

      I've had people tell me i look like her (that started when the matrix movies came out) and i recently just cut my hair off and dyed it a similar red to the color in that movie... didn't realize it was so similar in cut and color until i read your comment and Googled a picture lol.
      Don't get me wrong, i love my natural dark hair and eyes, but the red just adds a vibrancy to me instead of the stark dark and light

      @@SessaV How did you achieve the right red color? I'm trying to figure out what to ask from my stylist to transition to red.

    • @SessaV
      @SessaV 7 днів тому

      @allisonjoynerbizama2450 I went to cosmetology school (didn't graduate) forever ago so I mixed up my own formula.
      The color itself is a level 6 (1 being midnight black, 10 being platinum). My natural is about a level 3.
      The formula I used was schwarzkopf igora royal. I used half 6.77, a quarter 7.57 and a quarter 5.57. Your hairdresser should know what those mean. Basically you want to go for a more copper gold based red instead of just a gold based red.
      Quick warning though. I LOVED that color and got a ton of compliments, but it's a lot of upkeep, especially if you have darker hair naturally. I went back to my natural dark color, but I'd still recommend you try it because it's fun 😁
      I hope that helped!

    • @SessaV
      @SessaV 7 днів тому

      @allisonjoynerbizama2450 also you can usually trust your stylist if you give them an inspiration picture. A couple years ago I went in and showed a picture of Scarlett Johansson as black widow and said I wanted something in that ballpark. My stylist mixed up a red that was a bit more copper than the inspiration photo to compliment my eye color, and the color I concocted was very similar. But you might be someone who looks better with violet undertones or more gold. You're more than welcome to use my formula, or they might alter it a bit, say just use the 6.77 and 7.57 to make it a bit lighter than a level 6, or the 5.57 without the 7.57 to make it a bit darker... but the color of the wig she wears is a level 6 from what I can tell.

    Ohhhh, Jenn! It’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL on you! I did my share of hair coloring and bleaching when I was in my 20’s, into my 30’s and mid-forties. In 2017 I had a money piece, and I (against recommendation of a friend) went to a new hairdresser to have it touched up. When I was a child my hair was white blonde, and I knew it would lift easily. Long story short-it was a disaster! When she washed the bleach out it literally looked like Ramen noodles in the front. I went to a chin length bob, but that in the front was just so damaged. I went to a hairdresser I knew, and he cut it in a Pixie I loved and wore for the next 5 years. I’m growing it out now, and I love the dark ash and the white that’s coming in. Think I’ll keep it. I’m a winter, and the reds I tried to wear were AWFUL on me. I certainly tried it, though!

    I guess the biggest issue with trying to “pull off” the red hair color is that society expects red to be this fire-on-the-head, sort of orange.
    I'm a natural redhead, but on the darker side of the red. Auburn to be exact. And many people just said “You are not a redhead” to my face.
    It gets ridiculous very quickly

    *me crying in a corner with my pitch black hair 😭😭😭*
    Wish i could go strawberry blond or have Rihanna-type cool, vibrant red hair! But the only colouring that seems to work for me and doesn't also damage my hair is a blend of coppery/ mahogany highlights. Being a Bright Spring with a light olive undertone which is neutral-warm, i do need depth AND contrast. Anything too warm and caramel-ly blends in with my skin so i need to keep my natural black as well.

    Hi Jenn 😊 I like the soft deep red tone on you. I also think you could pull off blondish highlights, when you're tan. My skin tone is very similar to yours ( warm med. Olive, with med/soft chroma)
    and I really like a 50/50 blend of Redken 07nb chestnut and 09nb irish cream ,placed over bleached foil highlights. It has just a hint of blondish copper tone to it. It really compliments my skin tone, especially when I'm tan. I think its fun to change it up for the seasons. 🎉

      Hi, I am a soft autumn, and use Madison Reed champagne blonde. They also have glosses and other products to warm up or cool down your color. Ammonia free, $25.00 a kit, I get 2 months out of a kit. Worth checking them out.

    • @stylemejenn
      @stylemejenn  6 місяців тому +2

      I'd be careful with not going TOO light / soft! I find with Soft Winters, Winter is still the main season so there still needs to be a decent level of contrast, and going too far into Soft Summer / Soft Autumn route tends to look washed out! So I'd say try to maintain some darkness (I've tried the rose gold hair in the past too!)

    I just commented the other video hahah and you know I'm always here in the comment section, but I just saw this video now... after dyeing my hair and it not quite looking right.. 💀
    I think I am kinda like you, a bit on the darker side of value, medium chroma (I absolutely dissapear in bright colors, but gray doesn't look right either) and not sure about the temperature (I'd guess myself as a dark autumn or a muted winter). And burgundy colors on me look good as clothes...
    But I just dyed my hair burgundy/dark red with a tint of violet (it was 5.62 from Alfarf Evolution of color, but it kinda looks like the 1.8 you showed in 6:24, but a bit lighter and redder because my hair was brown black asian hair) and now my skin color looks orange 🤡🤡🤡 like that 1st Ariana Grande music video ("Put your hearts up" just search for it lol) The yellow on my skin is showing too much... And I usually look greyish, but not anymore 💀
    I don't think it's because of how dark it is because my natural hair is almost black, maybe because it kinda looks too bright, or either the red tone or purple tone doesn't match me... Maybe I am not as neutral as I thought lol The hair looks like it's a filter...
    I'm glad yours turned out very suddle and looks good on you!
