- 20 Different Types of Minecraft Player - There are many different ways to play Minecraft. Some people hoard items in huge storage systems, some just mine diamonds, some build technical redstone contraptions, some do command blocks and some like to build medieval fishing villages. There are many different types of Minecraft player, and in this video we go over 20 of them.

"The lost" that one category that can't go 10 blocks away from their base without getting lost...
Yeah, that's me
i feel attacked haha
Yikes, that hit close to home. Whenever we play together my friend can’t go further than 10-20 blocks away from me without getting lost. She has the coords memorized for our town because of how many times she got lost and couldnt retrace her steps even with a map/elytra
Definitely me lol 😂

Oh god Just imagineng it makes me laugh 🤣

I personally adore having my actual base with all my rooms underground and being a little mole and then make massive structures all over on top for decor. Why make a base that will eventually run out of room when you could dig out new rooms forever and ever without having to rebuild. I love it!
Same with me
I made a big castle in my server. The basement keeps getting bigger and bigger🙃
That's when I dig out a basement and then a basement for my basement and then a basement for my basement for my basement...
I’m on a skyblock server, I’m just building a huge lab under the main layer, it’s got custom generators as well. So I decided to build it all out of iron thoug :/
I agree
I feel you could have had one more category called "storyteller"
Bc me and some friends just love to make elaborate towns and worlds and fill them to the brim with history, mythology, and story.
someone called the 'Lore' maker
Aw it's my home
I'd say im both an explorer and a storyteller. It's so much fun creating all these epic complex and intricate history, cultures, story, etc.
usually mythology is calculated as the medieval obsessed and the monumentalist
Yeah its just so satisfying
You forgot the villager: the person who lives in a village and gets all their resources from villagers

Hey this is entirely me
My category: the guy who starts a world, isn't "feeling it", starts a new world, and repeats

i also do this sometimes
I feel like the category I'm most in would be the Subterranean Hermit when it comes to Early Game Survival Mode specifically, but I don't dig down to make a base, more so into the side of a mountain or cliff. I just find it more effective in that stage, as you're gaining resources carving out the space instead of spending them building one. Later on, however, I do tend to swing into the Medieval category quite a bit. Wood and Stone are always easy to get and are never a bad choice in color palette. I do still use SEUS Shaders all the while, though. I have an RTX 2060 in my laptop, and you'd better believe I'm using it.
Cliffside hole house supremacy!!!!! You can pry my hole house out of my cold, dead hands!! Though I do love building up the surrounding area by filling it with farms and trees and the like
I'm definitely an explorer, a peaceful explorer, no base, no end goal, just exploring the random worlds
My brothers category: do a survival world and end up using creative to get the stuff he needs
My niece, she forgot how to make torches because of that once. 😆
Almost same, i use command LOL
Not everytime
I do that to! xD
Ugh I hate when people do that as somebody who hunts all the achievements lol.
You forgot the procrastinator category. The people that spend a whole lot of time doing a whole lot of nothing, because they can't figure out what to do. (This is me)
Or iskall because when he thinks he just runs around off camera wasting food
Same
Ah yes! Also me!.
I thought you were going for procrastinating in the sense of playing more the more other stuff you should be doing.. cause that definitely applies to me ._.
When I play I do a whole lot of nothing anyways so I guess I'm just a procrastinator all around..
Same here lol
Personally, I find large cave systems to move into. I try and live underground, ideally under a mountain and have farms and things on top/outside. I also build castles or whatever with my leftover stone from expanding my house. I highly recommend this style of playing because as you expand your base, you gather resources instead of using them
I think I am a prep person, I constructed a base with a lockdown system and it disabled the door mechanism, closed the other door behind that one, put up Netherite walls in the hallways, and the base had a dormitory, laboratory, experimentation room (a big empty room) a pool, a lobby, an armory, a medical office, a bunker, and a control room (which I haven’t finished due to all the red stone stuff that has to be made) and it had iron golems everywhere to keep the mobs out since the base is well below ground. It also has its own horse stable.

I should make my new model blastproof idk

I'd say I fit into the monument builder category, I'm currently in the process of building a cobblestone tower from world build limit to bedrock! I do hoard almost everything, and I enjoy having a nice looking base that's all cute and such. And I also enjoy competitive parkour! And redstone is really fun... New Category Unlocked: The Dabbler

@@notebeans3134 Why do looters always take everything? You really don't need ten furnaces if you took a double chest of cobblestone!
That used to be me, but after playing games like skyrim and fallout I learned to leave the useless stuff behind
I only recently started playing MC again after a couple years break. In creative I'm a gadget guy. In survival, I feel like a medieval-resource.
I think it's also worth mentioning the Fighter and the Miner, respectively the one who's always waiting for night to come in to get geared up with the best tools and to battle hordes of monsters, and the one who's always with the strongest pickaxe searching the entire map for ores to collect

It's a bit belated, but I'd say I lean towards a mix of the explorer, tiny bit of modded miner, medieval obsessed, maybe a lil bit of the challenge accepter.
I like messing around with relatively simple but pleasant builds that serve me well in survival singleplayer, so a lot of builds in the vein of simple medieval cottages, hall houses, longhouses, what-have-you are a good way to get a very practical space that looks decent. I also enjoy exploring the surface and playing a more wilderness-focused game, and when I do settle down it's usually with that simple medieval aesthetic in mind, expand out and cultivate the space around me into something decently comfortable while still generally being practical.
Both of these ends are well-served by modding, but I'm more interested in tinkering with modding for my own use than I am with exploring the latest and greatest in Minecraft mods. So far in the case of Minecraft itself I've take more of a liking to testing the limits of the datapack system rather than using anything that requires an external mod loader, and that is actually very well-suited to making innawoods/wilderness gameplay a lot more fleshed out, rebalancing a lot of basic flaws in vanilla Minecraft's gameplay, tweaking loot tables and gameplay tags to enhance the experience, etc. You can do a remarkable amount just messing with JSON alone, long before you even get into the fringes of functions and structure stuff that datapacks can also mess with (also stuff I've yet to branch out into).
I've also combined that interest in datapack modding with challenges, mostly in the form of single-biome worlds. A very interesting thing to do I've found has been to generate a single-biome world, look at what's available, and ask oneself just what's missing to make survival in that world impractical. If there are any easy tweaks that I feel actually fit the theme of "more fleshed out wilderness survival" without just being outright "make something out of nothing with no logic involved" then it can be worthwhile for me to add it to my personal mod to further expand the player's options.
I've always been a nomad (explorer) and detail lover.
You forgot scavenger. The person to shave the top layer of sugar cane off someones farm so they can start their own or to go to an end city after everyone else to kill the remaining shulkers because they don't want to/can't find one on their own. You could call them useless but there's one on my server who is pretty responsible.r

I'm a secret extra category: guy who has just started playing and is just learning how stuff works and is baffled by all things redstone. I want to understand so badly but I just don't. I would like to build pretty stuff but I'm also not good at that. I always play in peaceful mode because the monsters keep me from my important tasks like getting lost underground and collecting random cool stuff that I have no idea what to do with.
My category- build the largest structure in any multiplayer server, fill it with rooms and resources and a bucketload of traps everywhere and make it a challenge to survive it on Halloween for three diamonds.
The 30-minute guy:
-gets into minecraft
-goes straight down mining

I fall mostly into the Monument builder. Very early into the game and starting on a vertical farm and home using water elevators to move between the levels. Got a smile out of finding snow on top of my most recent floor between sessions of expanding it. Just a couple of small farms at ground level with nothing automated yet but going to dabble once I get a couple of particular farms up and running. Dark Room Dropper is the first on the list and Iron/Villager to follow.
then theres the guy on the server that has full maxed gear in the first hour and never dies
Other category: project starter. Makes massive projects and starts new ones after five minutes. Never finishes them and their world is filled with half made contraptions and builds.

Same. Exact ditto
I love to farm potatoes but im the most messiest minecraft player ever
I started off as a monument builder but turned into more of a subterranean hermit. I most often either dig straight into the side of a mountain or patch up a pre-generated cave. On a recent server I was on, I had the good fortune of enchanting my armor with all the aquatic enchantments, so with that coupled with a steady supply of jack-o'-lanterns, underwater caving/mining became another hobby.
Medieval Village Builder and Terraformer here, but I could fall into about... Half of these, in some way. Especially 20. I'm useless at redstone and rubbish at parkour; but I love just making neat buildings and underground oases and cozy hobbit holes. I'm setting up a cliffside village on my current server, right across from my nearly completed replica of the Pantheon of Aggripa with the twist of putting Shakespeare's Globe Theater inside it. On an artificial island. In survival.

I've only recently gotten back into Minecraft after years away, and while I'm still trying to figure out my true style, I think I'm currently leaning towards Gadget Guy. Small automated farms, secret rooms with piston doors, redstone railways... stuff like that.
Though I'm also a bit of the "kinda useless" because I WILL die in stupidly interesting ways at the same time.
And I also enjoy the exploration, if only because I'm always looking for whatever's around the corner...
Oh, and I like tunnels. Lots of tunnels.

Explorer here! I take forever to make a base bc I just love exploring and finding beautiful locations. But when I do, I build in an optimal location.
I often build a little bunker-like base in/near a village in the side of a cliff because I suck at making the shape and exterior of a house. Interior design and build tweaking is easy and fun for me but I can’t do the framework of an exterior for the heck of me.
I think I’m somewhere between the explorer and the subterranean hermit. I seem to always be pretty bad at building stuff like houses, but I can usually come up with up with a design for an underground base. I also just like flying around in creative mode and finding cool landscape.

Hoarder here. Last time I played the game I made a huge subterranean bunker filled with pretty much nothing but double chests full of all sorts of items. I also wanted to build a Japanese village, but sadly never quite got to that. On the plusside I managed to get multiple full sets of netherite equipment for myself and friends due to the sheer amount of TNT I ended up making.
I was neither, when I played (and want to play again). I am the loner, who runs own server (max with a few friends), and who replicates stuff from other games, or IRL places - to live and play there. My favourite project was the Stone City from Might and Magic 7, but once I want to recreate Port Kuudad from Eschalon: Book 2. I'm an underground hoarder. My base is always a transformed cave because it's really easy to expand it as I need. But I also only start modifying my cave when I feel like I have too many free standing chests from mining all the time.

I am defenitly a mix of the explorer, competitor and prepper. Now how my style of playing works is, I explore untill I found something interesting (like an ocean monument, find these quite a lot) or a beautiful place I want to start building my base. Now I don't just use one style to build with, it depends on the place I settled in. From the point that I finished my base (or just destroy it and start over with exploring) I can go with two things: one is I try and make as much diamond gear/tools/regular diamonds as I can without having to mine. Either go and defeat the enderdragon and go endbusting or setting up challanges for other server members, and hope they play it (ofcourse I also hope they set some up or me too). And with that stuff I go and explore more, but always returning to the base. Two is I explore, also always returning to the base. I just always go back because I can't keep all my usefull stuff with me for everything. And I just don't like using shulker boxes that much, always becoming a mess in my inventory.
100% a detail lover, I will always make these small builds with lots of detail. I love making SciFi vehicles.
New category: Housekeepers, that guy that likes to organize chests, take care of farms manually without any sort of contraption
IKR? on my single player i can just spend hours feeding cows, harvesting pumpkins and wheat manually, replanting, cutting trees... and on multiplayer I feel like i spend half my time doing that or organising the stuff my servermates (we share a base) just drop in random chests cuz they are in a hurry into their proper place in the storage system...
mee
Wow, thats me mate!
Well thats me
that's me on single player. On multi i pull it all underground
My category: just likes starting worlds, gets bored after first few days, has never actually completed a minecraft world (aka killed the ender dragon)
I have only killed the ender dragon in creative and have never even found a stronghold in survival
I have a world where I can defeat the ender dragon whenever I want, and I’m to scared and have decided to devote the world to massive builds and farms
YES
Holy crap this is me.
I have had 3 worlds in one week
Same
I'm with you on the sorting system. I prefer to be organized.
i just started my superflat survival world a few weeks ago and i love a challenge in a game i love, but no matter what im doing in minecraft, im always trying to stay organized and prepared, so prepper for me
I'm the: "used to play ages ago but now I'm content to watch the hermits play for me" category
lmao
Lmao same
That was my second guess
lmao same
Another category: The Helper. Someone who's happy to do grindy things, or run back to the base for an item the group needs. They always share their food and they're always carrying sticks.
I'm a detail lover, though, which includes builds and really beautiful, simple, compact redstone.
I am a helper then
I would definitely and happily be The Helper if I ever bothered playing multiplayer.
Definitely a helper here - I grind and build things for others and I always have everything I need with me in my ender chest and just give things to others!
Also rather detail-oriented and a hoarder too... i love making small builds and I take everyone else's junk and keep it 😂
I can confidently say that’s me lmao
Def a helper. I have my stuff ultra organized when I can just so that if someone says "I need this thing does anyone have it?" I can pull it out of a chest like a grandma pulling candy from her purse "Why yes! Here you go deary! Go have fun now ^.^"
I'm a bit of a resource hoarder, a bit of an explorer, a bit modded, but mostly I'm a homesteader.
I start new world after new world, and in each I build the most cozy home I can think of. A comfortable farmhouse or cottage, picturesque crop fields, pretty barns and pens full of content animals (all named), flower beds and a pond, the whole rustic ideal.
I have three:
Monument builder - If I'm on the server, you will see my build eventually, may not be humungous, but it's still big.
Landscaper - You'll know I'm nearby because trees, ponds, rivers and entire sections of mountains and caves will be gone or bridged. Usually I'm a couple hundred blocks away.
Miner - I will gather everything I need and use it to build shit.
I enjoy all three just as much as each other, and I honestly can't decide which one I am the most.
i'm a mix between a hoarder and an explorer. i often have to stop to make a new mini-base every couple hundred blocks or constantly bunk in villages... especially in modded worlds. i'm definitely a modder too XD
My category is the one who finds a village, stays in the village (mostly Tiega villages Forgot how to spell), upgrade villagers, build a lot of houses, and become stacked with emeralds. I Shall call this category "The Monopoly Player."
I fall into that category
*genius*
The Mayor
Well then I guess I am the unofficial mayor of my village
Yes! And then once I've monopolized a village, I go out and find new ones to take over
You forgot the category: When you die and you lose all your diamonds, get so angry, delete that minecraft world and start fresh
the hardcore you mean
I've done this with iron
@@Melecie Nope in normal world
Alen Grm yes but it counts as _the hardcore_ because you deliberately deleted your world when you died
Yeah I repeated like 10 time already, LITERALLY
I cannot pick just one because I'm both an explorer and a detail lover. I have a couple of bases across the world that I try to make as neat as possible, but otherwise I spend my time frolicking and enjoying the scenery
Mumbo: Music makers - the catagory I least fit into...
Also Mumbo: anyway, here's wonder wall (HC season 8)
