Thank you for uploading on launch day Stef! I picked up Garden of Evil, Freshly Bitten, Love Bomb, Fields of Elysium, and The Trouble of Immortality. I skipped the thermal, magnetic, and the sheer/lighter shades because there's other colors from the brand that are too similar. I love the way Mooncat comes out with innovative, thought provoking collections. It doesn't just feel like I'm buying polish because there's a deeper meaning behind the collections. I really loved this collection and theme. I hope Michelle continues to come out with collections that go beyond what we typically see or expect. That's what makes Mooncat so special.

Mooncat really set the bar with this collection! Color story is absolutely gorgeous and feels super springy and fresh (but the colors also look like they can be worn any time of the year which is nice from a seasonal wearer's perspective)! Loving all the shimmer shades, but I kinda agree that they can probably be dupable... I think my one critique for this collection (and only if I'm being suuuper nitpicky) is that like 5 of the shimmers use the same purple to red shimmer lol... don't get me wrong, it's a BEAUTIFUL shimmer, but I'm like dang they really went hard with that one! I think my top picks are Lovebomb, Fields of Elysium and Freshly Bitten; also love Garden of Evil and was like ooooh swamp nails before you even mentioned it LOL
i couldnt agree more!! what a way to start 2024 😍🥀 and yeah i def think they can work year round too which is a plus for me haha. and yeah I wasn’t sure how i felt about that!! i get on one hand its very unifying, but yeah i still wish one of the greens and maybe Petals had a diff color 😅 i love your top picks though!! i think Freshly Bitten and Lovebomb are mine too, but its hard to choose 🤣 and hahaha yess so glad you were also getting swamp vibes from Garden of Evil 🧌

I'm going to return to this video many times, you always do so many comparisons! Mooncat semi-dupes themselves so much because of their *vibes.* There are so many wonderful shades that have me going OwO !! But logically... certain sheer polishes drive me up the wall and I'm not particular enough to want all combos of a certain shade. I'm going to hold off until their sale in May so this is super helpful. And thanks so much for Aspen next to Devil's Ivy. The magnetization contrast isn't striking enough for me to want it, but my brain was thinking I didn't have anything close to that in my collection. I could probably toss on a goldish shimmer from holo taco of aspen and be satisfied.
hehe so glad my comparisons are helpful! and yes totally see that too, these definitely feel like an extension of the Goddess Complex and Underworld collections but i love them 🙈 that’s definitely smart to wait until their next Lunar Sale though! and yeah I agree that Devil’s Ivy is a much more subtle magnetic than i was hoping for, I think i prefer it without any effect but yeah at that point its sooo similar to Aspen 😅

Hopefully that means it will ship today 🙂 Not sure what possessed me LOL! Until now the norm is to wait for swatch videos (especially yours) to be sure I want everything. But I was so emotional over the marketing on this (I am embarrassed to admit) and that the colors are just so delicious, I went for it. Okay. I piecemealed like half and got some other polishes and I was shocked I got shipped email 3 hours later. What a beautiful collection…I do love how Mooncat sticks to their kinda grunge-bolder style while still being able to stick to theme super well AND also work for the spring season? I don’t really like thermals because I have short nails and I don’t think the color change would show very well on top of not knowing what color the polish would eventually settle into, but I’m still tempted to get it anyway 😅 besides QotD, freshly bitten, love bomb, and to all those who’ve ghosted me are so tempting! They’re so beautiful, esp that dark burgundy shimmer on freshly bitten and the way that lovebomb builds up
i completely agree!! even though i do love when they do lighter and brighter palettes, these moody ones are so much more their style but still work for the season too! totally get that about thermals, i think the rule of thumb is making sure you love both transition colors so you don't get disappointed when it eventually dies lol 🙈 but so glad you love those too, i think those are def my top 4 with Freshly Bitten and Lovebomb being my top 2! they’re just so 🤤

Freshly Bitten reminds me of OPI The One That Got Away. Garden of Evil is how i always wanted Rescue Beauty Lounge Halcyon to look on the nail, so i may be picking this one up for sure!
oh i can see that! i wasn’t familiar with either polish, but fwiw i think Garden of Evil is a lot darker and more olivey than Halcyon at least by the few swatch pics i found. unless thats what you want, i figured it was the shimmer being too subtle in RBL lol

One thing I noticed about MC is in each collection there are two that are basically the same, just one darker and one lighter… Fields and Garden are just TOO similar to justify making a whole new polish, in my (dumb 😂) opinion. But man, these colors are gorgeous! The price point for the collection kinda took me back though a lil too…
It definitely can be annoying if you wanna buy the whole collection, but I still do appreciate the subtle difference in them and just having the option! Bc even tho I prefer the lighter shade, I know others would prefer the Olive 😝 but I do hope for future collections they won’t continue to have such similar shades in the same release! And yeah it’s def pricey, it’s a big collection! 😅

You really showcased the shimmery beauty of these so well 🥹 I get nervous about thermals dying (rip rothko red 😭) but I love the warm state of Queen of the Dead so I don't think I'll mind too much when it gets stuck that way. I want all of the ones on your left-hand skittle! I'm super excited about the thermal. I'm picky about buying thermals as I try to use them more often to finish them before they turn. I love Devil's Ivy shade. I was surprised no flakes formula. I don't know if that's just Michelle this time or if the coquette style doesn't lean in that direction.
yeah my left hand skittle was probably my favorite!! and i knoww, the thermal is gooorg but i also do worry about how often i’ll actually use it before it dies, i guess that should push me to use it more haha. and yes Devil’s Ivy also really stood out to me for its color, so soothing! i also was a bit surprised to see no flakies, i mean this collection is far from being coquette lol. i think the shimmers were an excellent choice though for this theme!

I picked up Petals for a Narcissist, Lovebomb, and Garden of Evil. I wanted them all but these were the once most unlike anything I had! Really appreciate the Garden of Evil and Fields of Elsyium because those aren’t my favorite green shades and from the promos I had a hard time discerning the differences!

Awesome video and comparisons as usual!! I’ve been waiting for this video before I decide on my purchase! Overall - I do like the story and colour theory behind this release a lot! However, I am getting a bit shimmer fatigued from MC between the last two collections. In this collection alone, there are already 5/9 polishes with a pink/purple shimmer. Garden of Evil and Fields of Elysian are honestly too close (and within one collection no less) for me to purchase both. I wish they had made Garden of Evil a flakie or glitter instead. I’ll probably still pick up Devil’s Ivy, Petals For A Narcissist, and Fields of Elysian. I was really ready to buy the whole collection, but after watching your video I feel like I probably could be shopping a bit smarter. :p

I was so happy to have gotten this set early enough so i could have my video live when they launched the collection ☺️ and ahh i hear you, even though i couldn’t disagree more because i loveee shimmer lol, but it reminds me of some point last year when they kept releasing a lot of flakie polishes and some people were tired of that 😅 i also feel conflicted about most of these polishes having the exact same shimmer.. on one hand i get it because it really tied them all together, but i also wouldn’t be mad if at least 2 of the polishes had a slightly different color 😅 but ohh those 3 would still make a great haul!! i know the whole collection is so beautiful and tempting though lol 🙈
if they had a silver version of Trouble with Immortality, it would be THEEE silver I've been looking for for almost 2 DECADES lol I have a nail polish from childhood that was Bratz branded ?? and it's a silver but I have not been able to find a dupe for it. It's not exactly metallic but not exactly shimmer but not exactly glittery, it's hard to describe and I have tried so many silvers!! I feel like the "metallicy glitter/shine" in the Immortality one matches closest to what my silver Bratz polish is 😭 also I love Devil's Ivy

This collections makes me think about the cycle of life when flowers are beautiful and then they start to get dry and die. I like how this collection play with opposites into a cohesive color story. My favorite is lovebomb, but I’ll wait until the Lunar sale to get it. For the rest of colors I will hold myself to buy something else because I have most of the polishes you used in your comparisons (as always, the best part of your videos). Did you say that Very Valentino and freshly bitten are the same base color?
yess i had that thought too!! it’s so beautiful and i love that they were able to capture that with nail polish 😍 Lovebomb is definitely a favorite for me too, along with Freshly Bitten because of course i can’t just choose one 🤣 i’m so glad you found my comparisons helpful! yeah even though this is a beautiful line up, we definitely have seen these colors/finishes around before - someone else mentioned To All Who Ghosted Me looks like Ethereal’s Coffee Cloud! and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a BKL dupe here too haha. but Very Valentino & Freshly Bitten have nearly identical bases; i did a quick dab of each on a napkin and VV is more like berry purple and FB is like a mauvey red, so i think that difference is more noticeable on one coat but once you build it up in 2 its harder to tell apart bc the shimmer is so similar! i hope that helps :)

I was really excited for this collection and I'm so grateful for your comparisons because I already have Atremis' Deathkiss and most of the underworld collection and i'm not a fan of green polishes (Earth to Gaia being the exception) so I think I'll skip on getting anything from this collection. I really like to all who ghosted me and petals for a narcissist but they're way too similar to atremis' deathkiss and to all who ghosted me has some house of hades' vibes with the cobalt blue shimmer.

I love this collection so so much! 😍 Seriosuly obsessed! The only two I’m not feeling are the greens…which is a surprise for me since greens are usually my fave. These are just a bit too muddy. It’s funny though because I adore Cirque’s Succulent Garden. My top 2 are Queen of the Dead, and Lovebomb! 🥀 I am so so happy with this collection! 👏🏻

Just looking at the bottles initially, I thought I'm gonna grab at least 4, but ended up with one that I really had nothing like this in my collection - Fields of Elysium. Lovebomb looks like a dupe for Monarch Lacquers "Heart's Desire" that came out a week or two earlier.

I was just saying how I wanted to try a thermal polish! I decided to pick up the full collection because honestly I’m so indecisive. I’ll pick up half a collection regret not getting certain shades, and then pick up the rest lol I’m just going to give it a shot and give the one that are not my vibes to my friends.

The comparisons are SO helpful. I've been wondering how close Very Valentino was to Freshly Bitten since I already have it, and this confirmed that I can skip the new one. I also have that Lyn B shade from PPU so I'm safe from another new buy. Based on all this, I think the only one I really want is Petals For A Narcissist, which is great cause I'm really working on exercising restraint in my purchases this year. A little off-topic, but how do you find the application of Head In The Clouds? It looks a bit thicker than the comparison shades but it is interesting to me color-wise.

Swampy chic? Yes, please! But for real, this might be the collection that finally pushes me to buy Mooncat. Garden of Evil, Lovebomb and To All Who Ghosted Me are REALLY getting me. I will say the two greens with the purple shimmer are a little bit too similar to be in the same collection.

Garden of Evil has more of an olive, yellow green base color while Ethel is more of a brighter kelly green. The shimmer in Ethel is more hot pink/red head on and shifts to yellow and it has a tonnn more holo glitter, so very different imo!
I don’t buy thermals anymore cause my collection’s too big to wear them enough before they die, but I do like how this one will look good no matter where in the spectrum it dies! One other thought-I really wish Mooncat hadn’t put the micro holo glitters in most of the shimmers. It’s so visually disruptive and irritating. I’ve always hated it in Cirque’s shimmers, and I hope Mooncat doesn’t start going that way too.
i totally get that about the thermals, i was torn to see them come out with one bc on one hand its beautiful, but I already wonder how long it’ll last 😣 i know that means we should just wear it more often lol but its hard when we have bigger collections like you said! but omg i couldnt disagree more about the holo sparkle in their shimmers lol thats my fave finish! 🙈 but at least they didn't put them in every shimmer in this collection, so maybe they’ll continue to have “plain” shimmers too.

Beautiful collection. However, I do think Polish Pickup makers beat them to quite a few of these shades. They are unique and beautiful, though. Mooncat really is a special brand.
Yes definitely my thoughts too! Someone else mentioned To All Who Ghosted Me looks really close to Ethereal’s Coffee Cloud and I can see that too! But yeah I still absolutely love these for mooncat lol
How long do thermals usually last? The new cirque thermal and this mooncat thermal have me reconsidering-- usually i never liked the duos in thermals but these 👩🏽🍳🤌
i wish i could say for sure 😓 i have another even older thermal from Cadillacquer that still transitions albeit a little weaker, so i was surprised my rothko red died bc i’m pretty sure i got that one after, and i store them in the same way (helmers). as long as you don’t live somewhere that goes thru extreme changes in temperature, they should last longer! my friend in Arizona has had cirque thermals die after a year, obviously summers there are more brutal than the east coast.
“If you have Very Valentino you probably don’t need Freshly Bitten” I’m gonna just pretend I didn’t hear that and get Freshly Bitten anyway (And all the other shades too lmao)

Its so odd to me that they released two greens that are so similar, but fot rid of spawn of medusa. I wish they had kept spawn and only released one of these

Serpents Tongue is one of my top favs 💜 but it does make sense they’re kind of moving away from glitters because they also had retired a lot of the toxic stardust shades before too! 😢 I know Michelle loves green though so we definitely will continue to get more 💚

These definitely did apply like butter lol! So smooth and just glided on my nails.. i hope that everyone has the same experience with them! 😅 Their formulas used to be pretty hit or miss unfortunately, some that I hated, others loved and vice versa 🤔

i can see why you would think they copied, but sooo many brands have released the same type of polishes, there is bound to be overlap.. unless you think all the other brands also copied? i have seen almost all of these shades not even from emily de molly but other brands too

Thank you for uploading on launch day Stef! I picked up Garden of Evil, Freshly Bitten, Love Bomb, Fields of Elysium, and The Trouble of Immortality. I skipped the thermal, magnetic, and the sheer/lighter shades because there's other colors from the brand that are too similar. I love the way Mooncat comes out with innovative, thought provoking collections. It doesn't just feel like I'm buying polish because there's a deeper meaning behind the collections. I really loved this collection and theme. I hope Michelle continues to come out with collections that go beyond what we typically see or expect. That's what makes Mooncat so special.

Mooncat really set the bar with this collection! Color story is absolutely gorgeous and feels super springy and fresh (but the colors also look like they can be worn any time of the year which is nice from a seasonal wearer's perspective)! Loving all the shimmer shades, but I kinda agree that they can probably be dupable... I think my one critique for this collection (and only if I'm being suuuper nitpicky) is that like 5 of the shimmers use the same purple to red shimmer lol... don't get me wrong, it's a BEAUTIFUL shimmer, but I'm like dang they really went hard with that one! I think my top picks are Lovebomb, Fields of Elysium and Freshly Bitten; also love Garden of Evil and was like ooooh swamp nails before you even mentioned it LOL

I'm going to return to this video many times, you always do so many comparisons! Mooncat semi-dupes themselves so much because of their *vibes.* There are so many wonderful shades that have me going OwO !! But logically... certain sheer polishes drive me up the wall and I'm not particular enough to want all combos of a certain shade. I'm going to hold off until their sale in May so this is super helpful. And thanks so much for Aspen next to Devil's Ivy. The magnetization contrast isn't striking enough for me to want it, but my brain was thinking I didn't have anything close to that in my collection. I could probably toss on a goldish shimmer from holo taco of aspen and be satisfied.

I don’t really like thermals because I have short nails and I don’t think the color change would show very well on top of not knowing what color the polish would eventually settle into, but I’m still tempted to get it anyway 😅
besides QotD, freshly bitten, love bomb, and to all those who’ve ghosted me are so tempting! They’re so beautiful, esp that dark burgundy shimmer on freshly bitten and the way that lovebomb builds up
i completely agree!! even though i do love when they do lighter and brighter palettes, these moody ones are so much more their style but still work for the season too!
totally get that about thermals, i think the rule of thumb is making sure you love both transition colors so you don't get disappointed when it eventually dies lol 🙈

Freshly Bitten reminds me of OPI The One That Got Away. Garden of Evil is how i always wanted Rescue Beauty Lounge Halcyon to look on the nail, so i may be picking this one up for sure!
oh i can see that! i wasn’t familiar with either polish, but fwiw i think Garden of Evil is a lot darker and more olivey than Halcyon at least by the few swatch pics i found. unless thats what you want, i figured it was the shimmer being too subtle in RBL lol

One thing I noticed about MC is in each collection there are two that are basically the same, just one darker and one lighter… Fields and Garden are just TOO similar to justify making a whole new polish, in my (dumb 😂) opinion. But man, these colors are gorgeous! The price point for the collection kinda took me back though a lil too…

It definitely can be annoying if you wanna buy the whole collection, but I still do appreciate the subtle difference in them and just having the option! Bc even tho I prefer the lighter shade, I know others would prefer the Olive 😝 but I do hope for future collections they won’t continue to have such similar shades in the same release!
And yeah it’s def pricey, it’s a big collection! 😅

I want all of the ones on your left-hand skittle! I'm super excited about the thermal. I'm picky about buying thermals as I try to use them more often to finish them before they turn. I love Devil's Ivy shade. I was surprised no flakes formula. I don't know if that's just Michelle this time or if the coquette style doesn't lean in that direction.
yeah my left hand skittle was probably my favorite!! and i knoww, the thermal is gooorg but i also do worry about how often i’ll actually use it before it dies, i guess that should push me to use it more haha. and yes Devil’s Ivy also really stood out to me for its color, so soothing! i also was a bit surprised to see no flakies, i mean this collection is far from being coquette lol. i think the shimmers were an excellent choice though for this theme!

I picked up Petals for a Narcissist, Lovebomb, and Garden of Evil. I wanted them all but these were the once most unlike anything I had! Really appreciate the Garden of Evil and Fields of Elsyium because those aren’t my favorite green shades and from the promos I had a hard time discerning the differences!

Overall - I do like the story and colour theory behind this release a lot! However, I am getting a bit shimmer fatigued from MC between the last two collections. In this collection alone, there are already 5/9 polishes with a pink/purple shimmer. Garden of Evil and Fields of Elysian are honestly too close (and within one collection no less) for me to purchase both. I wish they had made Garden of Evil a flakie or glitter instead. I’ll probably still pick up Devil’s Ivy, Petals For A Narcissist, and Fields of Elysian. I was really ready to buy the whole collection, but after watching your video I feel like I probably could be shopping a bit smarter. :p

and ahh i hear you, even though i couldn’t disagree more because i loveee shimmer lol, but it reminds me of some point last year when they kept releasing a lot of flakie polishes and some people were tired of that 😅 i also feel conflicted about most of these polishes having the exact same shimmer.. on one hand i get it because it really tied them all together, but i also wouldn’t be mad if at least 2 of the polishes had a slightly different color 😅
but ohh those 3 would still make a great haul!! i know the whole collection is so beautiful and tempting though lol 🙈

if they had a silver version of Trouble with Immortality, it would be THEEE silver I've been looking for for almost 2 DECADES lol I have a nail polish from childhood that was Bratz branded ?? and it's a silver but I have not been able to find a dupe for it. It's not exactly metallic but not exactly shimmer but not exactly glittery, it's hard to describe and I have tried so many silvers!! I feel like the "metallicy glitter/shine" in the Immortality one matches closest to what my silver Bratz polish is 😭 also I love Devil's Ivy

This collections makes me think about the cycle of life when flowers are beautiful and then they start to get dry and die. I like how this collection play with opposites into a cohesive color story.
My favorite is lovebomb, but I’ll wait until the Lunar sale to get it. For the rest of colors I will hold myself to buy something else because I have most of the polishes you used in your comparisons (as always, the best part of your videos).

Lovebomb is definitely a favorite for me too, along with Freshly Bitten because of course i can’t just choose one 🤣 i’m so glad you found my comparisons helpful! yeah even though this is a beautiful line up, we definitely have seen these colors/finishes around before - someone else mentioned To All Who Ghosted Me looks like Ethereal’s Coffee Cloud! and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a BKL dupe here too haha.
but Very Valentino & Freshly Bitten have nearly identical bases; i did a quick dab of each on a napkin and VV is more like berry purple and FB is like a mauvey red, so i think that difference is more noticeable on one coat but once you build it up in 2 its harder to tell apart bc the shimmer is so similar! i hope that helps :)

I was worried about succulant garden being a dupe i'm also worried that magnetic is the same as Cirque soda shoppe 🤦♀️. Got a little too excited there. Those 2 greens are really similar as well. But omg this is a beautiful collection 😍

I was really excited for this collection and I'm so grateful for your comparisons because I already have Atremis' Deathkiss and most of the underworld collection and i'm not a fan of green polishes (Earth to Gaia being the exception) so I think I'll skip on getting anything from this collection. I really like to all who ghosted me and petals for a narcissist but they're way too similar to atremis' deathkiss and to all who ghosted me has some house of hades' vibes with the cobalt blue shimmer.

I love this collection so so much! 😍 Seriosuly obsessed! The only two I’m not feeling are the greens…which is a surprise for me since greens are usually my fave. These are just a bit too muddy. It’s funny though because I adore Cirque’s Succulent Garden. My top 2 are Queen of the Dead, and Lovebomb! 🥀 I am so so happy with this collection! 👏🏻

The comparisons are SO helpful. I've been wondering how close Very Valentino was to Freshly Bitten since I already have it, and this confirmed that I can skip the new one. I also have that Lyn B shade from PPU so I'm safe from another new buy. Based on all this, I think the only one I really want is Petals For A Narcissist, which is great cause I'm really working on exercising restraint in my purchases this year. A little off-topic, but how do you find the application of Head In The Clouds? It looks a bit thicker than the comparison shades but it is interesting to me color-wise.

How does Garden of Evil compare to Cirque's Ethel?
Garden of Evil has more of an olive, yellow green base color while Ethel is more of a brighter kelly green. The shimmer in Ethel is more hot pink/red head on and shifts to yellow and it has a tonnn more holo glitter, so very different imo!
I don’t buy thermals anymore cause my collection’s too big to wear them enough before they die, but I do like how this one will look good no matter where in the spectrum it dies! One other thought-I really wish Mooncat hadn’t put the micro holo glitters in most of the shimmers. It’s so visually disruptive and irritating. I’ve always hated it in Cirque’s shimmers, and I hope Mooncat doesn’t start going that way too.
i totally get that about the thermals, i was torn to see them come out with one bc on one hand its beautiful, but I already wonder how long it’ll last 😣 i know that means we should just wear it more often lol but its hard when we have bigger collections like you said!

How long do thermals usually last? The new cirque thermal and this mooncat thermal have me reconsidering-- usually i never liked the duos in thermals but these 👩🏽🍳🤌
i wish i could say for sure 😓 i have another even older thermal from Cadillacquer that still transitions albeit a little weaker, so i was surprised my rothko red died bc i’m pretty sure i got that one after, and i store them in the same way (helmers).
as long as you don’t live somewhere that goes thru extreme changes in temperature, they should last longer! my friend in Arizona has had cirque thermals die after a year, obviously summers there are more brutal than the east coast.

I did not know thermals can stop working! That is such a shame
yeah its an unfortunate truth about thermals :( they can definitely last longer if they don’t experience extreme changes in temps and are stored in drawers. my friend in AZ stores most of hers on wall shelves and has had thermals die after a year, but a few others of mine still transition, so it really can depend.
Its so odd to me that they released two greens that are so similar, but fot rid of spawn of medusa. I wish they had kept spawn and only released one of these

Serpents Tongue is one of my top favs 💜 but it does make sense they’re kind of moving away from glitters because they also had retired a lot of the toxic stardust shades before too! 😢 I know Michelle loves green though so we definitely will continue to get more 💚

💥💥💥💥🤨 MOONCAT COPIED Emily De Molly polish brand! MoonCat has copied brands in the past when they had a different name and they were called out on it so they changed their name to MoonCat. Now they are copying again on some of the colors!
i can see why you would think they copied, but sooo many brands have released the same type of polishes, there is bound to be overlap.. unless you think all the other brands also copied? i have seen almost all of these shades not even from emily de molly but other brands too
