I seemed to have a number 6 plane type 5 or 6 the front of the frog looks like the 5 but the back looks more like a 6, also mounting surface is similar but not quite the same as rest of the 5 or 6 that you are showing. it is an incomplete plane but what I do have looks like is serviceable. looking forward to fixing it us so it can be used again.
There are anomalies out there for sure. If you’re on FB, shoot me a pic via messenger or find me at Just Plane Fun - the parts division. I’d be curious to see what it looks like
looking forward to the longer video as I have a No.4 that is a type 6,7, and 8. I'm hoping that the longer video covers the issues with the type, like the S in the base instead of a B which otherwise looks like a type 8 and a missing letter cast in the frog, my plane has nothing.
Great video and very informative as always. Love the fact it's to the point and exact information. now for the next one !!!
These are very easy to watch. Good work!
great video Mike! love that you throw some resources out there!

Longer video is up. Hopefully it answered your questions!
My first planes was a type 3 No 29 that I got for 15 bucks. My second was a type 6 No 5 for 5 bucks. The No 29 still had a solid brass depth adjuster.
