Michael, even though you didn't have many live watchers, I'm sure there are many other watchers like me, who can't make it to the live stream, and have to watch them later. Thanks a jillion for doing these guided meditations. You are by far the best meditation teacher I've encountered in my 40+ years of practice. Keep up the good work! I'm sorry that you had to brave the choking smoking air to make this video.
I started meditating to heal my brokenness and depression after a failed relationship. After contact with my first teacher, I felt such joy and healing that my face hurt from smiling so much (literally). I continue to meditate because it brings me in contact with present moment experience. It is a fountain of beautiful experience and brings love, patience, kindness, energy and meaning into every corner of life! Does that count as awakening? I don’t know, but I will continue because I don’t want to miss anything important.
To be a better person towards others & allow me to become more present with what’s around me, rather than fretting about the future. Also the end of suffering & enlightenment stuff draws me towards meditating more.
For me it started as a way to end suffering (anxiety and mild depression). It gradually become more about being present in my life. Now I’m more interested in the path of awakening. It’s not always been easy but I’ve always been happy I’ve done it and continue to. You start like a flat balloon and the practice slowly fills you with air.
Beautiful meditation mashup Michael! Love the reframing of Do Nothing, which for me always involved a doing lol and the what's real inquiry was awesome. And one of my favorite Dharma talks of yours. 🙏💗🔥

Found myself in a hole after decades of pathological thinking. Meditation offered a way out. After a few years of daily practice, things have gotten better. Why stop now.
In the midst of being with what is, there was an itch. It didn’t really bother me, but I sort of imagined myself scratching the itch anyway, not intentionally but automatically, and that made it go away. My material hands did not bother moving. It’s like my energy body scrachted the itch. The weirdest thing is not that I was totally convinced that it happened, or that it took away the itch, but that it felt completely normal.
what a great meditation. Thank you Michael. For me you are the perfect guide into meditation.
