Thank you, Mr. Poche. By watching your video, I can now tell that the reason my tension assembly doesn't work is because that little spring in the back is broken. I wonder where I might get another one? It's a 1927 singer 66.
@@irangunawardena880 as it turned out, I found a replacement spring on Ebay. (Over the years, I had forgotten that I had ever made the original comment)
This video was the cure to my mother's headache, the thread tensioning assembly came apart and she was struggling to put it back in the correct order. With this video her nightmare ended a couples of minutes after watching the video. She is very thankful and happy that she even pray to God wishing a lots of blessings and prosperity to the person or company that provided this information. God bless you all.

Sir just now i warched yr video on SINGER TENSION ASSEMBLY. This video is one amogst the few best i have come across so far and very well done. The above assembly plays a very imp. role in sewing and a must for every sewer to grasp/understand. Thanks for the video clarity. vatsa India
Thanks for the time spent to make a simple video on this part. Sometimes it's the simple videos devoid of music that really get to the point quickly and accurately.
Muito obrigada! Este vídeo me auxiliou muito. Minha máquina desmontou o tensor, com o movimento de uma viagem. Assistindo ao vídeo, consegui arrumá-la.
Nadie me contesta . Pregunto. Por qué mi máquina no me está haciendo la costura conchitas bien,es decir, las hace muy abiertas y no redonditas. Respondame por favor. Gracias.
Thanks!! This was SO helpful! When I got my Featherweight, its previous owner had already begun parting it out, so what little was left wasn't together properly.
Dear Andy, I am looking to see if you can help me build the tensioner on a National 390 I think I am missing the bracket fits into. Any thoughts would be appreciated
Hola mira he visto tu video muchas veces y tengo todas las piezas....pero no funciona es alambrito tensor ...no se porque...puedes saber porque no me funciona..?
You haven't shown the pin inside the shaft. I don't see mine move when I lift/lower the presser foot. Shouldn't it? How do you fix that? (The pin is not missing.)
I have a 60s model Japanese Dressmaker that has a similar tension assembly. Any idea how to replace both springs, and get a diagram how it assembles? Thanks!!
Hi, I don't know if you are still answering questions but my 403 is not picking up stitches on the right side either straight stitch or zigzag. Any idea what I should check? I did put in a new needle.
Thank you for this video! I just received my tension assembly in the mail but I'm unsure how it works. Is it supposed to hook onto something inside the machine? When I put it together I'm able to take it right back out without any effort so I'm confused 🤔
Is the pin straight w/o the knob on the end, that sold as an (out of stock) generic 1-3/16 tension pin? I removed the pin and it looked a little bent and worn. The pin, when pushed in flush with the floor of the split shaft, and end doesn't emerge from the hole in the round boss of the tension assembly (that meets a nickel-plated lever). Using the 1/4-inch washer hasn't made for the best bottom stitch (posted the latest pics of top and bottom stitches on my fb page). The top tension is pretty tight, but any looser and thread starts piling-up on the bobbin stitch. I could make a 40-second soundless video, but I don't think I'd have anything to show that anyone could have an opinion on. I'm wondering why I had to use the thickness of a washer to move both discs outward? I've loosened the single screw that hold the tension shaft boss and tried to push it in further, but not. I've adjusted the tension catch-spring, so it "releases tension on the thread just when the needle is entering the cloth." - 1944 Sewing & Maintenance book - thanks.
+Kirk Perry The pin I am speaking of is in the center of the tension assembly shaft. Make sure the pin is even in there and or not stuck. Also make sure that shaft is in all the way.

Good video. Very useful. Bravo.
Primero va el resorte, después los platillos,y después como se llama la pieza que cubre los platillos????????
Is there no narration? I'm not understanding how it's being adjusted at the end of the video...
The adjustment is based on the thickness of your thread.
Seems that I buy a unique seeing machine, one day searching for the same tensor, any video of that

Lift the lever up and down while looking inside to see how it makes contact with the pin. It’s very simple mechanics.

nice work
What about the assembly for a kenmore ultra 12?
Well... I don't have one of those.
Wow this is gorgeous am making my own soon ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi, I don't know if you are still answering questions but my 403 is not picking up stitches on the right side either straight stitch or zigzag. Any idea what I should check? I did put in a new needle.
First thing in this case... check if you put the needle in backwards..
In your case with a 403, the flat side of the needle goes in the back, the groove in the needle faces you.
Make sure bobbin is in properly.

Sir I have a doubt. My new machine's regulator suddenly changes to tight or loose. What could be the reason?
I would have to see the machine.
Thnx a lot
This is very usefully
Will this work for a 185k as well?
Yes, most any sewing machine, especially vintage machines.

You can send me a pic of the assembly and the machine - order@gballz.com and I’ll try to help.
@@gballz I figured out that I was suppose to tighten the screw on the left side inside the machine so it wouldn't fall out 😂 thank you for your reply!
