I saw these guys play at a small bar in Toronto(Horseshoe Tavern) like 200 people.....they played for almost 3hrs. I'm pretty sure they played every song from the first 3 albums. To this day one of my favourite concerts.
Man, Let Go was a killer album. I was so Damn young when I first heard "Inside of Love" and not a single one of those songs fail to blow me away, especially live. I don't speak one word of French, in yet La Pour Ća is one of my favorite songs. That speaks volumes when a melody and arrangement is so good you listen just because it's beautiful. Absolutely Brilliant
I agree. While there are some gems after "Let Go" as a whole, they were at their peak with that album. I speak very little french and I too enjoy La Pour Ca.
Hey man.. I know this reply is coming 2 years later than your original comment, but do you know/are you aware that they're currently touring this album?? :-) ‘Let Go’ 15th Anniversary Tour www.nadasurf.com/let-go-15th-anniversary-tour/
Whoa there, they weren't at their commercial or successful peak with that album but if you meant musically, I'd wholeheartedly agree. also love the Weight is a Gift. It sounds so similar, maybe too similar? But i view it as a sister Album or something. Like, if they had come out and said they had pulled a Radiohead and it was like their very own amnesiac to their kid a I totally would have believed them - as if it was recorded in the same sessions or something and they were leftovers or b-sides. Lol. Anyways just commented to say. I speak NO french AT ALL and I too enjoy La Pour Ca.
"Blizzard of '77" was the first song I fell in love with when I realized they were more than just "Popular." Which don't get me wrong, is a great song that caught my attention. But this song and everything on Let Go made me realize they were worth more than just a band that was good. These guys are life to me. I cannot imagine my life without their music! Sappy and cliche, blah, blah. Seriously. If you love these guys as much as I do, you know EXACTLY what I'm about. 😊❤🎶🎶
Not sappy at all I wish more people had the passion for beautiful heartfelt music like this without the fear of being judged as sappy or cliché. The themes and emotions expressed in Nada Surf's music are universal and could change our world for the better if people listen, or more importantly share their music with any and everyone. I am not a religious man but I am a disciple for this band. I was blessed enough to see them in Portland Oregon in February 2019 just before the pandemic/quarantine/WTF? Year. It's one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.
