played this game when I was a little kid.. was incredibly difficult as I used a wind spell with seeking.. and just ran in circles dodging attacks.. spent what I believe were hours just chipping away at bosses health until I won.. had no idea what I was doing.. but actually managed to get through it
This game was such a trip for child me. I figured out as a kid the barrier and avalanche combo, I've always wondered about a run that didn't use any earth. Thanks for this run, was awesome to watch!
Great run and commentary. Shoutouts to the animes in the audience at 1:23:57 Would have been interesting to explain what confusion is, what other spells can do
I actually had this game before I had a N64. It was shown at a toys fare and I bought it there, some time afterwards I got the console. Liked the game and the last few bosses I just did with beating the hell out of them with the staff 😅 great run!
This was one of the first N64 games I bought because I had 2 young daughters and wanted to get something they would enjoy. The battle system is broken as many times enemies stay out of range while you stand there and take a beating lol. Because of this, I became the one they'd give the controller to when such things happened.
I remember playing this game as a child with my mom. We needed like one month to beat the first boss because we didn't understand the concept of leveling 😂 great job speed running this game
56:19 i had that game back in 1997-1999 can't really remember, was born at 1992, and for over 30 years now, i still believe to this day that, this is not a scarf, it's her mouth i know its a scarf, but i will for ever see it as a mouth and now you will too
This was such a weird fun game... I remember strapping a rubber band to my controller and leaving it on overnight because I found out that moving increased your evasion and movement ring?
17:00 While it is sad barely anyone is sitting in the chairs, what's interesting is the dudes in the back moving their touhou lifesize plushies for attention or "audience members". And that one chair with the cardboard face saying "pew pew".
I remember when I first rented this from blockbuster the first boss floored me and then after that my TV crapped out and then my mom sold my 64 so I couldn't play it for 20 years it's still so good.
I really wish this game had been successful. It has a lot of problems, sure, but I wish we had more games that took what this game did and expended on it.
I made this game incredibly hard for myself on my first playthrough as a kid, because I leveled all elements equally.... big mistake ^^ Anyway, I beat most enemies with the "power staff" ability. After that I maxed out fire as soon as possible. Always kinda liked this one the most, but then realized that earth and water are OP
I'm surprised no one has made a creepypasta of the last section of the game where one is at the starting area, the sky is red and only one door is accessible to reach the final boss I've searched and nothing, guess the creepypastas got invented way in the years ahead 😂 but would be interesting to see what people make use of that scene in particular.
I can see it now, using my limited and exaggerated understanding of video game creepypasta that has been filtered through only the finest examples of the genre from, like, 15 years ago. "I loaded up the save and it was in the part of the final part of the game where the sky is red but as I looked closer I realized that the sky seemed redder than I remembered when I played the game when I was 8 years old but bought recently from the creepy woman at a flea market for two dollars and thirty-seven cents, which I paid for with 1 dollar, 5 quarters, a dime, and two pennies. I stared at the sky and it was actually hyperrealistic blood! Then Brian turned to the face the screen without me pressing any buttons, but his eyes were gone and replaced with hyperrealistic bloody holes far more real looking than what the N64 could normally handle and the blood flowed out of the TV and a ghost like boy appeared on the screen and I've been dead since 1997. So beware of creepy women selling N64 games at bargain basement prices! The end. Please be nice. This was my first creepypasta. Original Concept DNS"
one of my favorite games, despite its flaws, this game needs a proper remake and revamp. all of its flaws are due to rushed development by the publisher THQ. the GBC version is what this game should have been...
God this game was awful. I know a lot of people are nostalgic for it, but if you didn't know as a kid to split your spirits between rock and water for the best attacks and healing then this game was an absolute nightmare because any other magic spread was useless. Beyond that it had almost no story and was incredibly repetitive. As a kid I didn't enjoy this until I had a game shark.
Even to this day, this is one of my favorite games of all time. Super unique and charming. I hope we get a remake/remaster of it someday.

Wow, crazy the memories this is bringing back, totally forgot about this game. Had so much fun playing this as a kid.

That sonic adventure 2 battle "faker" commentary was on point lol 45:00

Yeah I have no idea why there are guys with giant touhou fumos but it's great lol

Oh man that sucks! Sorry to hear!
@@Vaquix000 it's cool after that I actually learned how to play JRPGs and I have it on my pawky box
This and megaman 64 were my go to choices anytime I went to blockbuster as a kid, finally bought a copy of them both to own about a decade ago now…

aamzing run! ^w^

Honestly cant believe me and my brother beat this game as kids we have such a unique story and fond memories of Quest
First RPG that made me max out water healing before doing anything else.
I uhh set up my n64 to run in circles and max agility.
No one ever talks about the fact there was a spell called "Extinction" and it just one shots anything.

Love this game. Have great memories of it. I dont think its possible to beat it without the healing spell though lol
This game would have been amazing if the creators didn't think story was unimportant.

I could not save this game so for me it was like a demo game. I got through the cave one time though
"Which one's the real faker?"
Amazing.
Lol dude is freaking out about the mobs at the end. I don’t blame him though those enemies suck.
What does "UFK" or "UNK" mean (within the context of UK like the runner and the commentator said)?
Wow I forgot this game existed.
id love to see a remake of this game in UE5
Quest 64 by "It's not a big deal guy"
This game came out the same year as ocarina of time , I felt cheated after playing this and giving it my time ,
i had this game, but was so hard
