All-Inclusive Occidental Nuevo Vallarta 2022 - Everything You Need to Know

- The Occidental Nuevo is an all-inclusive resort about 20 minutes North of Puerto Vallarta in an area called Nuevo Vallarta. Puerto Vallarta itself is one of the world’s hot travel destinations and Nuevo Vallarta is growing increasingly popular!
After doing a ton of research on Costco Travel, we decided booking an all-inclusive resort was worth the extra investment after feeling like we were on the sidelines travelwise during the past 2 years of Covid. It was worth the investment to have food and drink already paid for so we could focus on reconnecting with ourselves and venture into the surrounding region on reasonably priced tours without breaking the bank.
In this video we cover what's great and what's not-so-great about the Occidental Nuevo stay.
From the Barcelo Hotel Group website:
The hotel Occidental Nuevo Vallarta (formerly Occidental Grand Nuevo Vallarta) is an all-inclusive resort located in a privileged enclave in the middle of the incredible landscape of the Riviera Nayarit, where in the same morning it is possible to enjoy a paradisiacal beach and the best shopping and gastronomic area. Located just 25 minutes from Puerto Vallarta international airport, this resort is easy to access.
The rooms, spread over 7 floors, have been designed with sophistication and equipped to offer guests an unbeatable stay and include outstanding services such as room service, 24-hour reception and free on-site parking.
It offers a variety of activities and excursions for all ages and tastes, including water sports such as kayaking.
The gastronomy, within the All Inclusive regime, also has great prominence in the daily program, thanks to the 3 restaurants of the hotel, and the proximity of famous places of good cuisine in nearby Puerto Vallarta.
The Occidental Nuevo Vallarta has a specially attentive staff to ensure a pleasant stay while enjoying the privilege of an idyllic setting where the beach is the main star.

All-Inclusive Occidental Nuevo Vallarta 2022 - Everything You Need to Know

Great video appreciate the succinct detail. Helped me make a decision to go here in july
Glad it was helpful!
Great Review you guys!! I can't believe this review hasn't got more viewed
Hola! El hotel cuenta con snacks durante el día?
The is for the video. Couple questions.
Were
Masks
Required anywhere on the premises or restaurants
And, is there a no shorts dress code for the itilian or Japanese restaurant
Thanks for your time
Thanks for asking, Ron! When we were there earlier this year, masks were not required on premises. However, at the time, proof of negative Covid tests from a lab were required to board the plane home. So much has changed even in a few months time! We recommend those flying to the US check the CDC website for current info before traveling.
As for dress code at Occidental Nuevo, there were more restrictions for men than women. For example, no sandals for men but they they were fine for women. Again, just to be sure we don’t give you outdated info, we recommend checking the hotel website before packing. If you stay at Occidental Nuevo, we’d love to know your experience. Post another reply letting us know! :-D
Wishing you a great trip!
Did you mention that the royal level restaurant is not included in the all inclusive? Which means you will have to pay for your meal?
Good point and thanks for mentioning that TheMsLaurenzo! We also did a video on the Royal Level experience. You can check it out at ua-cam.com/video/2jme7aRNpp0/v-deo.html
How you guys paid for the loyal service
Thanks for asking! We booked through Costco Travel and, at the time, Royal was only about $50 more. Prices vary but check it out because it was well worth it!
good review ...however there is one thing that really anoys the crap out of both myself and my wife.... people like you that tell people to go down early to get a lounger... look if you sleep till 10 am then go for breakfast you're not down to your lounger till 10:30 11:00... all the while those loungers sit empty... so enough of this throw your towel down... we've been to lots of all inclusive resorts and have seen loungers sit empty till late in the afternoon... that is just down right disrespectful ...specially for those that like to lounge in the morning sun and do other things during the heat of the day freeing up the loungers for some one else!!!
We’re glad you found the review good and appreciate your sharing your experience. We totally agree! We weren't advocating for going to down early to claim a chair for the entire day but rather to get to the pool early to have a chance at using a chair before they were taken. This is specific to the resort and week we visited. Btw, when we headed to the pool right when it opened, we had it to ourselves, which was also great!
