Yes! I was wondering about that. I know nothing about singing, but we don't hear him do anything like that in his earlier music (which I love; I love that breathy quality he had). So I'm wondering if that came naturally, or if it took some coaching. Do you know? Thanks!
@@nspector That's natural, but he definitely had training to use his lower diaphragm; you see him back away from the mic because his voice is so strong.
I saw it too. They were so good. I asked if they were there instead of a stand in. Petula Clark was their mother and Adrian Zamed was the narrator. One of the best memories I have of my mom.
Thanks for posting. First time I heard them sing together. Very well done! Shame they didn’t make an album. I wasn’t a crazed teen for either, since my older sis had me listening to CSNY, Moody Blues, Tull, etc... So, I never did the teenybopper heart throb stuff. Closest I came was America, on my own discovery. Love them to this day.❤
I wish I'd been able to see them perform in Blood Brothers. Their voices sound so beautiful together. Now I'll have to buy the international cast recording!
First time seeing this. Very impressed. Too bad they didn’t do an album together w/some great tunes like this. I’m sure it would have sold quite well. Hope you’re at peace David.✝
I remember seeing this the day it aired! I've often spoken about it to friends who were actually lucky enough to see the play when it was in town! I can't believe I have finally got to see it again! It's even better than I remembered.
I've recently realized how talented Shaun Cassidy is. This clip proves it. I love the "family harmony." I do think that David was a more expressive than Shaun, who waz a more reserved. I belive all the Cassidy brothers are very talented. All I can say is look at their father (Jack Cassidy) Shaun's mother, Shirley Jones, is very talent so he got it from both parents, I guess. David's mother, Evelyn Ward, was an actress. It's in the genes.
@@64katesyWe will agree to disagree. Its a matter of personal taste. David can definitely hold his own. David was a role model for Shaun. They were both gifted performers.
Gosh!! What talented, handsome and charming they are, no matter their age!! What great voices! I wonder why they are not more famous and why they do not come to Europe. They are simply amazing!
They sound fantastic together! I did get to see David in BB in the UK in 1995, which was great, but the Cassidy bros together must have been so special. Let's hope they perform together again some time in the future.
Brothers/Family members often sound so great together. For example The Beach Boy's Wilson Brothers, etc. the list goes on & on. But WOW! The Cassidys are fantastic singers! Thanks!
This is so nice to see. I saw David in Blood Brothers in Toronto, probably around the same time, but Shaun wasn't in it with him. Now that would have been special! They look so happy together here.
If only they'd record together again! Was just listening to recordings of their Dad Jack Cassidy. I never realized he had the voice of an angel. Shaun sounds a lot like him. David has an incredible range and power. Such an amazing family! Wish I'd seen this with them in it!
Who remembers Teen Beat magazines! My sister used to cut out pictures of shaun cassidy , David Cassidy, John travolta, and put on wall lol what a throw back❤
If you close your eyes and just listen to them sing, you can hear the true talent of these two brothers, without the fame of their families or names. ❤!!
Fantastic show, fantastic version by the Cassidy boys! Would love to have seen the McGann brothers starring in this show in Liverpool back in the day......
David was so fabulous in this musical. What a passionate actor! I was crying at the first song. You just keep hoping they won't actually die in the end. Sooo sad! When David is running down the isle about to shoot his brother, I just kept saying, "No ... don't do it, don't do it!" It was a great moment to see these two preformers together. I still have my autographed poster on my office wall.
I remember when the curtain opened and the two caskets on the stage..It was written by Willie Russell. Much more popular in London. It told such a meaningful story.
I too wish Shaun & David had (or would) put out a cd together!! They harmonize so beautifully & YES, it is far better than most of the absolute crap that passes for music today!!
My Mom had a huge crush on Shaun Cassidy when she was a teen. She had his poster picture out of a teen magazine on her bedroom wall. She always love his name and named my oldest brother Shaun after him :D
I saw them with Petula Clark in that musical. It was at the Music Box theater . I went with my mom. It is one of my favorite memories of her. They were amazing.
I saw them do Blood Brothers on Broadway. Words can't describe how great this show was. I have seen a good amount of Broadway shows and this one is still number one on my list. Petula Clark was spectacular also. What a night that was....
This is a new private UA-cam of mine to congratulate and commend faithful and loyal fans all over and I must admit that your much love and support for me has been the bedrock of my success and without you I am nothing 🙏 I humbly appreciate you all✌️

Thank you for posting the video. I wish there was some way to explain how perfect the complete live show was. There's no way to bring back that moment, but I will cherish it forever.
I really love this. I do wish David would put the same feeling into songs he does today. He seems to just walk thru what he does now. He is such a great talent. As is Shaun.
I could only dream they came to australia with this show. I loved them both as teen stars, but they both burn brighter even now. I wish they would use their gifts and record even now.
I saw the show on Broadway with the Cassiy brothers and Petula Clark. She's the one who sings this wonderful song at the end. I have the CD, it's great!

If you haven't seen Blood Brothers i highly recommend it to you regardless of who'll be in it. I saw it just before christmas and loved it instantly. Apparently its know in the "industry" as the standing ovation musical and i see why now as everyone to a person stood up at the end and clapped their socks off :)
I worked backstage at that show. When the Cassidys first were first announced to be replacing the original British cast members most people scoffed and thought it was just a cheesy celeb money grab but they came in and NAILED it. They were amazing in the show and were two of the nicest guys you could meet. I used to talk to David about his old vintage Stratocaster backstage and I still remember talking on the pay phone backstage to Shaun’s mom Shirley Jones (The Partridge Family) when because of bad weather her plane to New York arrived at a different airport while Shaun was busy onstage during the matinee. Great times. Great show. They were awesome.
WOW!!! I' never thought I was going to see DC and SC singing together, great voices. When was this? Great posting, thanks!!! I like David, but I LOVE SHAUN CASSIDY!!! LOVE YOU SHAUN!!!!
This show was the best live show I have seen. Petula Clark played their mom, and OMG...when they say "not a dry eye in the house", there was NO exaggeration here. No hullabaloo about them all being teen sensations, they were just actors doing an amazing acting job. I tried not to cry because I had lots of non-waterproof liquid eyeliner, but I just LOST it. I had no idea what I was in for. They did that thing where they all linked together to make this incredibly powerful flawless ensemble.
Oh it just sounds amazing. I saw Petula in 1968/69 in South Lake Tahoe CA, I was 14 years old and my Dad and my step-mom took me for my 8th grade graduation! I had never heard of this song it the Broadway show till I saw this clip.
Hi Laura The 60's 70's and 80's were the best years for music I think. The music in the charts is not same nowadays. You will notice I have a few of Adam and the Ants records on my profile and anything from the 60's onwards
I met David Cassidy, he was very very nice, he stopped and chatted and even gave me his autograph. That was 38 years ago and I still have it.
What a treasure for you ❤
Was he even more gorgeous in person?
Qué bello fatboy!!!
David Cassidy's voice could melt butter
I'm in tears
Shaun's voice has melted me since the 70s lol
David and Shaun are superb singers!
Never heard this til today. I'm in tears
Anybody come back here often to listen to this again? 🥹
David Cassidy at 1:58 belts out with a display of the extraordinary range his voice had!!! RIP
Thanks for pointing that out. 👍💜

So handsome together. They sing beautiful. Warms my heart
Hi Mary
I was a David fan, I never heard Shaun sound so good, wish they would have done more together, you just can't beat family harmonys.
My mother loves this song. Shes loved David Cassidy since she was six yearsold.
Shaun Cassiday has an amazing voice. Together he and David sound beautiful.
The Best! How can anyone give a thumbs down. Family, beautiful voices plus wit!
Everytime I hear this I just can’t stop crying! Beautiful
I never tire of watching this.
I saw these guys on B'way. I was very surprised and impressed. They really were excellent in the show.
Oh it must have been incredible. What a wonderful memory!

Shaun Cassidy is brilliant singing this, i keep coming back to this clip just to hear him, i'd love to hear him sing the entire song.
I'm Really Glad that everyone enjoys the clip as much as i do----wow people nearly 90.000 Views!!!
David and Shaun are great together!!!!
Almost 377,000 now!
It's a great song. Sung by great brothers. Rest in peace, D.C.
Love it! Thank you. Love Shaun. Saw the show three times. So sad David is gone. Did you see Blood Brothers too?
You know Shaun is touring again?
Thanks for posting. First time I heard them sing together.

@@mariejo3026 Oh, you saw it, wow. How wonderful. And three times.
Wow!! what can I say except this is a classic sung by the two cassidy brothers. I keep playing this over and over again.
When David belts out,"say i only dreamed it" i play it over again, gives me chills.
I wish I'd been able to see them perform in Blood Brothers. Their voices sound so beautiful together. Now I'll have to buy the international cast recording!

Maybe David is just more expressive , Shaun was concentrating on the moment. He is the better singer.
