Really enjoyed the different presenters all getting together to make a longer video. Made it feel shorter that way and wasn't getting fatigue listening to one person for a long time. Would love to see more of this format
Love this! Just want to correct one thing, Roman Reigns was informed of the cash in the night before at the Hall of Fame, per him. I believe Seth was the only one informed the day of.
I literally just left a similar comment at the start, watched the video halfway through, started scrolling through the comments and found this. Someone that appreciates the fine arts ☕️
How do you figure 39 years? 1st year was 1985, 2nd was 1986. 3rd was 1987. Keep counting and you'll get to the 40th in 2024. Remember: the 1st year of something isn't the 0th year of something.
Only one year goes by between 2 Wrestlemanias. "Example: When you turned 10 years old, you celebrated your 10th birthday, which was also the 10th anniversary of your birth. An ordinal is always one number ahead of the anniversary. Example: On your 10th birthday, you began your 11th year." (Thanks Uni-watch) @dgthe3
Wrestlemania has turned 40 years old? Why, it's the 40th anniversary of Wrestlemania! Wrestlemania 1 = 31st March 1985. Wrestlemania, as of the release of this video, is currently 38 years 360 days old ('cos leap year, innit?). WhatCulture succumbing to WWE-itis? Yes, I am fun at parties.
@@yomamasofat77 Yep. Celebrating 40 years of something isn't the same as the 40th anniversary. This is the 40th year of WrestleMania, next year will be the 40th anniversary.
@@yomamasofat77 A good way to think about it is with "birthday logic". On the day of birth, you're not automatically age 1. You have to wait a year, same as with anniversaries. This year may be the 40th Wrestlemania, but it's the 39th year of the event (Wrestlemania 1 can be considered "year 0"). Thus making next year the true 40th anniversary.
Okay not trying to nitpick but why is Simon ending most of his sentences like the words were written in lowercase until the end of the sentence? “we should also point out that hulk did kick out at 3.1 to show that he wasn’t really beat howEVERRRRRRR.”
29:06 Personally, I enjoyed this moment. Sure, I wouldn’t have minded a thorough match, but I feel that it culminated the way it should have. At this point, Daniel was the type to literally grab his championship and his girlfriend and go home the second he began struggling in a match. As champion, that works in his favor. He was also the kind of guy who had been berating his kind and loving girlfriend the whole time he was champion. So, the best, and funniest way to keep a runner from running is to catch them off guard. I actually laughed so hard at this, and I’d like to thank Daniel and Sheamus for making such a memorable moment for me to see.
This list-more than any other-proves that WWE/WWF were more about aesthetic and spectacle more than in-ring wrestling. I can applaud them on this since it’s worked for them, but the amount of coverage here (and everywhere) on these shows say a lot more about how they “did business” more than how they booked good matches. Love what you love. There’s no shame in that, but I LOVE professional wrestling more than sports entertainment. I’m so glad there are companies out there that buck this tired (for me) trend!
Michael Wilbon doesn't understand that WM 23 IS the 20th anniversary of WM 3 while mocking WWE for not knowing how anniversaries work. He then insults Michael Cole's ability to call a match when the last 2 years have proven he's really good at it.
No, Wrestlemania has turned 39! Don't fall into WWE's "Wrestlemania 25 is the 25th anniversary of Wrestlemania" mindset. The day you're born is not your first birthday. Your wedding is not your first anniversary. Stop the madness!
Ric should have taken the final slot. Anything after that emotional match would have never lived up to it. But Flair is old school, and the rule was that you gave to the business on the way out. Fortunately, Undertaker and Edge gave a great match so it worked out.
11:09 woah woah woah hey!! That is one of the best matches of all time. Whatcha talking about whatculture?! It begins with technical wrestling, slows down the pace and they work each other with great psychology, then they amp it up with some bursts of high energy action and high spots and than slow it down. Wrestling has peaks and valleys and take you on a roller coaster. It’s not spot after spot after spot and no sells.
I know a record longer than the quarter century mark for Philly. The last time wrestlemania was held in Toronto has been 34 years and still waiting for another one.
I actually always thought it weird that even though I was born in June of '82 I am 1 year older than WrestleMania even though the first Mania was in '85.
For Mania becominv two nights it was needed. Sheer coincidence before the pandemic WrestleKingdom for the first time became a two-night extravaganza Jan. 4th. This featured two retirement matches for Jushin 'Thunder' Liger.
Hear me out, but if we KNOW Taker, Austin, and Cena will all be there this weekend, who do you think will be the real surprises to get involved in the main event story?
Thank you WC dont stop doing these mania facts videos. But why is simon talking like that? Annunciating the end of every sentence and trailing off like that... he never used to talk like a weirdo
5:33 I’ve heard Fred Ottman (Tugboat/Shockmaster) say in an interview that he was gonna be Sheik Tugboat. Talking about ships that hate America we had that foreign ship destroy that bridge in America 😂
I just hope Toronto Canada doesnt have to wait 25 years for mania to come to Toronto BRING MANIA TO TORONTO TRIPS! (ill admit I almost put vince there)
"A completely immobile man...vs Kali" - *Chef's Kiss*
I had to rewind to make sure i heard it right😂😂😂
Can’t wait for Wrestlemania 40! My first Wrestlemania live in attendance!
"...Triple H jobbed to dry ice" LOL That was hilarious. Brother, you got a way with words.

Thank "The Fink" for giving us the name ''WrestleMania" .God rest his soul❤
i love the way you produced this video with several narrators, made it a much easier watch than usual!
Love this! Just want to correct one thing, Roman Reigns was informed of the cash in the night before at the Hall of Fame, per him. I believe Seth was the only one informed the day of.

I was dead
Want to feel old? Adam has been gone from WhatCulture for SEVEN YEARS.

Technically it's 39 years
I blame WWE for gaslighting us over the "25th" anniversary of Wrestlemania 😂

Adam, I was "too cool for wrasslin." after WM6.
I never appreciated it again until Dec of '99.
When Stone Cold made his return, he was no Y2J.
Can’t believe they tried the Simon Miller bait and switch, and actually thought I’d keep watching 😂
Watching these videos gets me hyped for mania 40 thank you lads!
Oh nice a Simon video.
Wait a minute....
We were bamboozled. 😒

well...he was Italian American
This kept my attention the whole time. Good job lads.
1st entry.
I don't remember this at all;
Unlike many others before, I have not rewatched any WM, since 31.
Actually, next year makes 40 years. It started in 1985.
Great video idea❤
Goldust at WrestleMania 12, and hes still going today, crazy
I punched out after Simon's segment. I assume Hulkamania ran wild all over WhatCulture for the rest of the video.
"We have a new moment guy" proofreading, Simon.
Wow. 1,560 facts. Can't wait!
The way you guys roast yourselves is hilarious 😂
Cage match at 28, HHH vs. Taker. I know, I was there.

WM 23 was a great match. Umaga vs Lesnar was good and led to Durag Vince. It's crazy how Orton and HHH had matches before WM 25
You mean Umaga vs Lashley
I really like Ted’s heel gimmick of taking state money for his own gain. Truly committed to the character. Please donate to his church. Amen.

"a completely immobile man vs the Great Khali"🤣🤣🤣
I took my wrestling break around the same time. When I came back I had no idea who most of these "stars" were.
great video🎉
It turned 39 years old, we didn't wait a year between WM0 and WM1, like we do with life. It's simple math Simon
HHH lost the world title and Mania XX and 21 in 2004 and 2005. It was just 2003 that he had the ridiculous win over Booker T
Anyone remember 10 facts about each Wrestlemania in the lead up to WM33? what a time to be alive..

Agreed. There's something about Gareth's delivery that I can't tolerate. His work is listenable for me.

Of all the manias how many were actually overall good?

Didn't Hogan tear 5 biceps and break every bone in his back slamming Andre?

It wasn’t AJ Lee it was Nikki Bella who held the Divas Championship at WrestleMania 31
why did you whisper so often in this video?
