    Hi! Would appreciate if you can help me a bit, I know its 9 months later but im optimistic…
    Im a guy with small narrow feet with high arch(almost ankle’s height) and I currently own a pair of Scarpa instinct woman size 38.5. This is 0.5 - 1 size smaller then my European street size(39~39.5). Those shoes fit me the best from what I’ve tried but the heel is still a bit large and the shoe is a bit too stiff..
    I would like to try a pair of hiangles but don’t know how to size them and whether i should buy woman’s version or men.
    Would appreciate a lot if you have some insights for me! Thanks

    Hello Kin Lai,
    I climb with the old leather women's hiangle in size UK 8,5 (42,5 EU) and my normal shoe size is 43 or 43,5 EU (depends on the shoe). I try the new women's hiangle in the same size as the old ones, and i found them wider and more baggy, but a the same time painful on the toe area, ok they were brand new so it can be the reason for the pain, and of course, the old hiangles were very painful at the beginning and relatively comfortable after 7-8 sessions. I sent the new ones back, because i found them strange in comparison to the old ones. Should i give them a try in 42 EU ? I hope they will stretch... So you said they stretch more than the leather ones ? It's strange because they are synthetic.

      Hi Vinzent, sorry for the late reply, but you are correct. The new Hiangles are not the same shoe as the old ones. The toe box has been made more round and the overall the shoe has more similar dimensions to the Blue Hiangle of past. I don't think going down to size 42 would be a good idea. Maybe try a different shoe or even a different brand with a more similar shoe shape to the old Hiangles.
      I hope this is helpful.

    Slightly different question - having had other synthetic Five-Ten shoes that smelled incredibly bad, I'm wondering how these were for you? Haha. Thank you!

      Hi Shane, the only bad smell experience I have had with 5.10 shoes are with the Anasazi Velcro. I found that the lining is mostly the cause of shoes developing that bad smell. But if you leave the shoes to air and dry after climbing for a few hours outside your bag it's usually OK.

      @@kinlai9645 Thanks for this response! For anyone else who might be interested in getting these - I did buy them in the end and the smell was really negligible compared to other synthetic shoes I've had! Also, I wear these in my exact street shoe size and they're still quite an aggressive fit!

    Hi! I was wondering if you could help me with the sizing. I haven't owned any 5.10s before, and I'm planning to order online. How do I get the right size, relative the street shoe size?

    • @kinlai9645
      @kinlai9645  2 роки тому

      Hi Maureen, do you already have climbing shoes, if so which brand and what size? And what is your street shoe size?
      I'm a size US men's 8.5 street. I size my old hiangles at US men 7.5 but I normally wear the low volume(women's) version. I size those at US woman 8.5(Euro 39.5) I would go down one half size for the new hiangles.

      @@maumstheword The best way to fit a new model of shoes is to go into a stor and try them on before ordering a pair. But I understand that in these times it's hard to do.
      It looks to me that you are not aggressively downsizing your climbing shoes. I like my climbing shoes relatively tight so I size them down quite a lot. From my experience with La Sportiva, I climbed in the size 37.5 for Miura VS. and 38 for the Solutions. The hiangles fit a about halfway between these 2 models. If you going to order a pair of 5.10 before trying I would recommend half size up for a similar fit to what you have now, same size for a slightly tighter fit that will get a bit more comfy as they break in, or a half size down for what would feel like an insanely tight fit compared to what you have now. I hope this is useful.

    Hi can it be as beginner climbing shoes? Been climbing for four months both bpuldering and top rope

    • @kinlai9645
      @kinlai9645  Рік тому

      Yes, these shoes can definitely be a beginner shoe that one can grow and improve with. But you probably will need to downsize future shoes as you improve and become accustomed to a tight fitting shoe.

    Did the shoes lose its tension and become sloppy over time?

    • @kinlai9645
      @kinlai9645  2 роки тому

      No. The shoes stay tight and well fitted. But as I mentioned, I would size it a half size down from previous hiangle models.

    Does the new hiangle stretch? How long did it take you to break it in?

    • @kinlai9645
      @kinlai9645  3 роки тому

      Yes these new Hiangles stretch a little bit more than the previous ones. I would size them 0.5 down from the previous Hiangle. They break in very fast, within a couple sessions.

      @@kinlai9645 Hey, I got the Hiangle Pros in 7.5 and my street shoe is 8.5. What size would you recommend for the Aleons?

    • @kinlai9645
      @kinlai9645  2 роки тому

      @@andyle788 The Aleons fit about the same length as the Hiangles, the difference is that the Aleons are a lot wider. I would think the same size or half size down.

    What’s the difference between the hiangle and the hiangle pro ?

    • @kinlai9645
      @kinlai9645  Рік тому

      Unfortunately I have not had a chance to try the hiangle pros yet. But I have had a look at them really quick at a demo. They have a wrap around rand design for the inside edge and I think they are designed to be slightly stiffer and more similar to the original Hiangle.
