  • In todays video I talk about why you should use seasol on your lawn.
Seasol is an awesome soil conditioner and seaweed extract which can really help to improve your lawns soil!
As I always say, a healthy nutrient filled soil will always be able to produce a perfect lawn.
If you've never used seasol on your lawn before, I recommend giving it a crack!

handy tip, i use seaweed pellets called "SEA-MUN-GUS" , its composted seaweed, fish, humic acid and manure, i get it from bunnings , about 20 bucks for a 15kg bag, i put a few hand fulls into a bucket with water let it sit for an hour , stir it up and pour it into another bucket with a cloth over it to filter out large particles then pour it into a old empty bottle of seasol with the hose adaptor and spray it on the lawn , i can refill the bucket a few times getting 30-50 litres of spray for just a few handfulls of product, great results so far .

I use Seaweed solution with my potting mix, I mix it with a hand full of fertiliser, mulch and drench it in seaweed solution and that's good for the next few weeks, water it as normal for a few days then use seaweed solution again, plants have not complained.
It is organic, made from bullweed in Tasmania that is harvested off the shoreline, so for those that are about ecology safe businesses, this is kind of a good company to root for and support.

Hey Ben! Sorry to bring up such an old video but what would be the benefit or difference with using a hortex sprayer as opposed to my solo sprayer?
I’m guessing maybe I don’t have to lightly water in afterwards because the hortex throws more water?
I’m just trying to figure out if a hortex is something I need and when I would use it.
    Thanks matey!

Just in case Ben doesn't get back to you mate - in later vids he went away from using a Hortex; he explained it didn't give even coverage. Me personally I use a Hortex when applying soil amendments like wetting agent, pre-emergent, seaweed, humic acid etc as it's much less of a pain than getting the sprayer out. A sprayer will give you more even coverage though, so while you don't need one if you have a sprayer, it's another tool in your arsenal if you do.

Hello LT... I have been using Seaweed\Kelp for two summers now and I’ve realized an increase in frogs in my lawn. It’s not ideal since some of them are not smart enough to run away when they hear or feel the vibrations of the lawn mower coming. I typically mow at the highest or second highest level so I I’m not able to see the frogs until it’s too late. Takes away from the joy of mowing when having to deal with pieces of frog carnage in the lawn. Have you heard of others experiencing this? I live i the Midwest...SD to be specific.

Big plot mate - what location are you in? Would never get a lawn that big on a basic new build here in the Gold Coast these days. Section sizes absolute rubbish and prices through the roof even for a shitty apartment (no garden/lawn). Count yourself lucky being so young you got in before this whole sh*tstorm we’ve now got here in Aussie with first home buyers - The days of young blokes easily getting into their new build homes on a decent block o land and having a lawn to tend are fast fading.
It’s a disgrace - all by design and corruption too!

The lawn version has nitrogen I believe, so it's like a liquid fertiliser at the same time. That's why ben said he's using the normal version here to avoid any risk of burning the lawn.

Seasol is made on King Island in Victoria from washed up seaweed.
Lots of comments below asking for evidence on how it works etc.
I can't answer that myself but I can tell you it just works. Try it and you'll see!

    • @krump743
      @krump743 3 роки тому +1

@@joshuag7254 I would hazard a guess that you work out how much water it takes for u to spray an area of say 5mx5m (25m2). Let's say u use 800mls of water to spray this 5x5 area, so then you times that by 4 (25m2x4=100m2) which is 3200mls of water. So it will take 3200mls of water for u to spray 100m2.
      Then to work out the chemical just times the 10ml x 20 (which is 5m2 x 20 =100m2) so 10ml x 20 = 200mls.
So 200mls of seasol in 3200mls of water will get 100m2 coverage. You need to calibrate ur sprayer first tho to get a tru number. These are just examples of how the math works. But I could be wrong tho my understanding of it anyway.
